It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Delf Type 1 vs. Type 2 vs. Type 3 Bodies Discussion (head swapping info here too)

Aug 8, 2006

    1. The only problem I have had thus far with my Type 2 body (At least as far as the neck mechanism goes. Mephisto loves to stick his butt out, but I think that's a problem with the male CP mold.) is the little knob slowly turning by itself and the head falling off, which results in me yelling at my doll for being rude when I have guests.

The problem is easily fixed with a rubber eraser or some plastilina to keep it from moving.

    2. Great info there. My Tanning El came to me with a chunk about the size of my thumb nail missing out of his neck. However it was a 3rd party sale, not from Luts, and the packaging was questionable for overseas shipping.

I too have never heard about any neck joints cracking with NS or BW dolls, only the Tan ones. The neck mechanism has its pro's and con's - neck mobility is slightly reduced, but the tradeoff is it's MUCH easier to switch eyes and remove the head.

    3. It may be even easier than that... :D
Make sure the head-cap isn't on upside down!

Every Type 2 head-cap I've played with went on pretty well either way, but if you look at the inside of the cap there's a little resin projection on one side. That's the side that's supposed to be on the bottom... That little piece of resin keeps the head connector from turning once the head-cap is in place.

    4. Hey I have mature type 1 but I haven't been so privileged to see a two other then pictures. What differences do they have? I know the torso attaches at a different point and the neck to the head attatchment is diffent. But is the actually body form different. And how well do they move?

    5. If I have it straight from this thread, besides the torso changes in the female body, the neck is thicker on the Type 2?

I wanted a female body for a Nanuri head (which has the neck hole of a Type 2), but the type 1 I got has a neck far too small in circumference for it. (The NS color is off, too, since even under the head's blushing and faceup, it's more a peachy-normal shade while the Type 1 body has a slightly different "pinkisher" tone.)

So - a Type 2 NS would be the way to go for a Nanuri, right, either male or female? (And side question - on the Type 1 male bodies, would the neck diameter be the same as on the Type 2 male bodies?)

    6. For making a girl version of a Type 1 boy head (Like a Nanuri or a Yder-), you'll need to use the Type 2 girl bod. Just restring it with an s-hook in place of the neck connection piece. It's really easy and the necks fit well. ^_^

There seem to be two types of Type 2 gal bods out there... The ones that come with Type 2 Lishes have the wider neck and connector piece just like the Option-Parts Type 2 girl bods do, but they have the old-style waist joint rather than the lower hip joint. They're sort-of a hybrid of the two types, I guess.

I haven't made a close comparison between Shakti's bod (Mature Type 1), Gaia's (Lishe Type 2) and Sannru's (Regular Mature Type 2) to see which boobs the Lishe bod has, but just at a casual glance, I *think* they're the same as the Type 1 Mature's.

Between the regular Mature Type 2 and the Mature Type 1... You already know about the Type 2's lower hip joint. The Type 2's boobs are also sculpted a bit differently. (Some people like the new positioning, some don't... It's mostly a matter of preference. Clothes seem to fit both more or less the same way. All three of my Mature gals can share outfits pretty easily.) The only other really noticable change is that Type 2 necks are shorter and wider than a Type 1's. Again, rather or not that's a good thing is mostly personal preference, but it makes Yder girls and such a whole lot easier. ^_^

    7. My Nanuri head is definitely a Type 2 neck opening. The Type 1 female neck was just lost in the opening!

    8. [I wasn't sure where to put this, so if it's in the wrong place, I'm terribly sorry!]
I am going to be ordering a Yder sometime soon from Luts, and I was just wondering if there were any truly significant differences between the boys type 1 body and the type 2 body, besides the neck pieces. Are the the same height? Any infomation regarding the new and old bodies would be greatly appreciated~
      Thanks!

    9. Ah! Thanks! I totally forgot to look in the large dolls subforum. xD;

    10. I'm also debating on a type 1 or type 2 boy and more than anything what worries me is the range of motion and snappy head. I have a friend with a mini-fee and his head is insane snappy. Is it just as bad with the delf size?
I like how the type 2 are a bit shorter than the type 1 but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the head being so...difficult.

    11. My minifees had very snappy heads. When you glue-suede the joints, take the head off, then while shifting the neck piece as far to one side as possible, work around the top of the neck hole with drizzles of the low-temp glue. It's just like sueding any other joint, and gets rid of the snappy neck, and unless you really hyper-extend the head to one side or the other, and almost expose the neck hole, you'll never see the sueding glue. The mnf I pose the most, it's taken almost 6 months for his head to start snapping a bit again, so he's due for a date with the glue gun!

    12. Wow, awesome! Thanks for the tips, I think I'll go with a type 2 afterall now! :3

    13. Maybe this question has been already posted before, but I was wondering about the posability of these two bodies...which one have the best posability of the two?:D

    14. I knowe the neck on a type 2 boybody are bigger then the type one! But how much?

And also for the females? Are ther neck at a type 2 the same as type 2 boy? or?

    15. I believe the neck size for type one and two boys is the same, the girls type two necks are the same as the boys type two necks, and the girl type one necks are smaller than the type two necks.

There is a thread here about the different necks and how to switch heads around. If you wanted to put an old girl head on a new body, you will have to widen the neck hole.

    16. I´m looking for a body for a K-doll karon head! and i want to put him on at girlbody mod. boy and ther for im looking for the type (1 or 2) that has the biggest neck

    17. bump bump bump

    18. Hello! I was wondering what some of the differences were between Luts's new body type and their old. What are some pros/cons?

I have been hearing that the new body, although convenient with the easier way to remove the head, has been having problems with the neck (the head is harder to turn...)

Does anyone know if Luts will be phasing out the old type bodies and stop making them altogether? Also, is the makeup just as sensitive for both types of bodies?

So, what do you think? :)

    19. I tink the neck problems only happened with tans, if I remember correctly. On the type 2, the neck turns fine, but tends to snap into certain positions (chin down, for one). If you hot-glue suede, just schmoosh a layer of the glue around the neck opening. (Can take head off first, or tilt all the way to the side and do it in sections) I do that to all my MNF and full-size bodies, and it makes the head movements nice and smooth.

Now, you ARE talking about the Type 1 and Type 2 neck-mechanism bodies, right? I think the Type 2 male bodies are also a little shorter than the original Type 1s. And on the Type 2 female body, they've enlarged the top of the neck, so the Type 2 girl heads can fit on either male or female body.

There is also, now, a Type 3 body, with an extra joint piece in the elbows and knees, that works effectively like a double-jointed body.
