Delf Type 1 vs. Type 2 vs. Type 3 Bodies Discussion (head swapping info here too)

Aug 8, 2006

    1. Okay first.. I tried searching for this. >_<
      Didn't find anything and "B&G" doesn't really work well with searching ><;
      So I figure I'd make a question thread~

So I really want to get a B&G Sky, and 2 other B&G bodies so that I can put El and Chiwoo heads on them!~

I'm wondering, will type 2 CP heads work well on these bodies? What about type 1? :fangirl:
Do you think you'd need a donut for the type 2 heads?

Thanks! And please feel free to post your own questions about B&G questions here!

    2. I have done exactly that! There are quite a few people who have done the Luts/B&G body.

You need a Luts donut to make it work. Type 2 heads will NOT stay on unless you have the donut or something to hold it on like a washer.

Type 1 should stay on without the donut. :]

    3. hm prolly will work also if you get the type 2 neckpart and restring the body with it. You can do that with a number of different types of bodies :) I'm curious how the posability of the B&G boy body is though...

    4. hi.. erm not sure if this is acceptable here. >.<

anyways. im planning to get a doll soon. and is thinking of getting Lu-wen from luts..

i just want to know if his joints are very pose-able? coz his is a like a new body type and all. any drawbacks to him not having a upper body joint. does it affect his posing?
dat's more or less my major concern for him.. coz other then that.. lu-wen is very pretty.. :D

      ya.. thanks..

    5. He's a nice set of photos for the Lu-Wen Type 3 body. (warning, nakied dollie dingle)

    6. Since I'm going to be buying my first doll this year I was wondering what the difference between the New body type and Old body type is when buying a Delf from LUTS.

Hopefully this is in the right section :sweat

    7. Your question should be in Den of Angels > Ball-Jointed Doll Discussion > Size-Specific Doll Discussion > Larger Dolls

But to answer your question, Luts has 3 types of Delf boy bodes and and 3 types of Delf girl bodies.

For the boys, Type 1 and 2 are identical except for the way the head is attached. Type 1 has an S hook at the top of the neck that attaches to a hoop at the back of the head to hold the head on. Type 2 bodies have a rotating latch-type-thing that holds the head on. Type 3 bodies have double jointed elbows and knees. I don't know what kind on neck parts type 3s have.

For the girls, there are two kinds of Type 1 body. The only difference between the two is the bust size - Regular or Mature. These two have the Type 1 S hook neck parts. The third girl body is the Mature type with the Type 2 twist-off neck parts.

    8. It should also be pointed out that both of the type 1 girl bodies have a smaller neck than the type 2 bodies.

With the type 2 bodies, you can put any type 2 head on them. Type 1 girl bodies can only use type 1 girl heads.

Also, all of the newer Luts dolls are only being released as type 2 bodies. Something to keep in mind should you ever want a spare head to share a body with your current doll.

    9. Delf girls up to Miyu (correct me if I'm wrong) come with the Type 1 Mature body (Old Type). Some girls have an optional choice of Type 2 Mature Body (New Type) with jointed waist instead of jointed hip like what you'd see in the optional parts section. The Delf Girl Body Type which has smaller breast size can only be purchased as an optional part now.

Delf If and Kum-ran have type 2 mature girl's body as default and are not available with the old type body.

Delf boys not including Lu-wen, Breakaway BV ver., and Jess are available with either Type 2 Boy's Body (New Type) or Type 1 (Old Type).

Delf Moon, Harang, Dambi, and Shine have type 2 boy's body as default and are not available with the old type body.

Note that type 2 (boy or girl) bodies are identical to type 1, neck mechanism aside...also as Tonboko said, type 2 girls have a slightly wider neck near where it connects to the head, for the purpose of fitting the neck mechanism. The heads are also structured differently to fit the neck mechanism on type 2 bodies, meaning that type 1 heads will not fit on type 2 bodies and vice versa...not without some tweaking, that is.

Lu-wen, Breakaway BV ver., and Jess have defult Type 3 Boy Body, with double-jointed knees and elbows. I'm suspecting that future releases of Delf boy dolls will all have the default Type 3 body.

Type 3 heads are compatible with type 2 heads ^^.

    10. So I'm... pretty lost ^.^; to put on a different body, what kind of neckpiece would be needed for a Lu-Wen?

      Thank you T___T

    11. Does anyone have a type 2 neck part for sale?
It's no big deal,I was just checking before I order one from luts,to save some money.

    12. Hello! I´ve been searching for this but i haven´t found it anywhere : s
I don´t know if i have to post it here, i think it´s the right place. Sorry if itsn´t *_*

I want to buy a body from luts for my next doll. I ´ve tried the body of the girl from luts i already have, and it don´t looks bad, but it seems to be just a little fat for it, not very much, but it is a little.
My question is, it´s the second version of the body (type 2 body) a little more slim than the other?

If you have any photo comparation i would thanks you very much!!!

Thank´s for reading, and sorry if i don´t explain very well, it have pass several years since last time i practised my english ^^U

    13. Type 2 is needed for a Lu-wen. ^^

    14. So, for clarification,

can a type 1 head (El & Dreaming El) be put on a type 3 body? I'm saving for the El Special right now, but with the extra head floating around, I was thinking of picking up another body. I don't particularly like the type 2 neck piece and I understand that type 3 also has the new neck; so I was wondering if type 1 heads were interchangeable with type 3 bodies?

    15. You'll have to remove the type 2 neck piece and replace it with an S hook, so yes. I assume the necks are the same width. I'm getting ready for bed, otherwise I would measure my type 2 and type 1 bodies for you. Maybe there is information on Luts about the neck sizes?

    16. Impromptu scientific experiment time go!
      XD
Right, I just disassembled the Type 3 and tried a Type 1 head on it, and while the neck on the type 3 is indeed a little bit more slender, it still looks normal...and considering the Type 1 in question was a massive Shiwoo noggin, I think your extra floaty El will be absolutely fine on the body once you remove the mechanism and replace it with an s-hook. =3

      ETA: I tried my Yder head on the body as well, since I had the mechanism off, and it actually didn't fit as well as the Shiwoo head, for some reason....there was a bit more gapping. While it wasn't much, and would be covered by most wigs, I guess it at the very least means different heads will fit a little differently...and the only El head I have is a Type 2 so I can't check that one. ^^;

    17. I have an El head type1 in a body 3 type and it fits perfect ^^

Editing: a photo where you can see it
      [IMG]
There is a little diference of colour, but that´s because head is a little older (now that it have past some time the diference it´s not so apreciable)

    18. Awsome Sauce!

Thanks Rynn007, Acanthiel, and Syney for the help! :3 I guess I'll get a type 3 body when they become available again after I have enough saved up for both that and the El Special. :3 (though I'm still waiting on my Abio Angel Tan, been 8-9 months since I piad for it.) I'll see how things go when my frist doll finally arrives, but mostl likely I'll love him to pieces despite the hoops I've had to jump through. :D

      Thanks again! :aheartbea

    19. Oh, another question,

I read that the type 2 bodies were shorter than type one, but what's the difference with type 3 other than the double joints?

    20. I read a whole lot of threads on head swapping with luts delf heads, and it implied type1 heads neck hole were to small to fit on other type bodys properly (delf and B&G). After alot more reading, the type1 girls heads have smaller holes to suit the type1 girls body which has a thinner neck. But the type1 boys heads have same size hole as type 2 and 3.

So to sum that up all delf heads and bodys should interchange fine with the exception of type1 females.

      Hope that helps someone.
