1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. Multiple times! Even when I first got into the hobby, I purchased two dolls at the same time. :sweat It's definitely something that shouldn't be done on impulse!

    2. Yes
not always intentionally but sometimes one order ran longer than expected

    3. I've done it before and probably would do it again if the dolls on my wishlist gets re-released or I see them on the marketplace for a decent price... I remember I was in the process of ordering my F-38 when Maki Tsuyoshi got released. I'm a big fan of Shimizu Reiko and Himitsu is one of my favorites so I knew I had to have him. Ah, good memories... xD

    4. I have 3 on layaway as I type this! I am rationalizing it as a way to save on shipping, which is entirely true... and so totaly not my only reason! 4 of my dolls are photostory related characters, I am the type of artist that doesn't like to work on a project with out having collected all the parts, therefor the triple purchase was not only expected but financially efficient! After 4 months Ill be done untill next year! Woot Woot!

    5. I was curious if any of you ever ordered two or more dolls at once.
Well I never actually bought two dolls at the precise same time (at least not two that I would both own).
But I have had doll orders overlapping a lot (at a certain point I had 3 dolls on order, just al ordered at different times and different companies)

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? (aside from painful on your bank account)
I have found I do not like dolls arriving home in quick succesion.
It somehow makes the doll that arrives first feel less special, when I have no time to fidget with them and try stuff out (eyes, wigs, clothes)

If you've never... Do you think you ever will?
Unless the two or more dolls make a set and are sold as such (like DOD Twing-key & Twin-B or Daisy and Mint)
I do not think I will ever buy more than one whole doll at a time, for the reason I specified.
Though I would buy several floating heads at a time (since that always feels different)

    6. I was actually wondering this myself!

What do you think you'd feel like IF you ever did buy two or more at once?

I haven't bought two dolls yet but there are certainly two dolls I want right now. I don't think I should only because I am worried that the anticipation over getting one while getting the other one will kill the love and excitement. Once they both arrive at home I won't be able to fully love both dolls and show each one the attention it deserves if I have to separate my attention over both.

    7. I've had two incoming at the same time (one new from the company and one second-hand on DoA). I'm actually considering doing my very first double-order during this fairyland event. A minifee (either Rheia or just the Nanuri head) and a pukifee Mio. :)

    8. My two dolls are still on layaway at the moment.

I'd been wanting to get a DreamingDoll Airi for some time now, but could never really justify it to myself.

However, when DDoll brought out their winter event, I couldn't pass it up.

So i bought a Elva Sally (with a shirt and pants to push the order over $500) which meant that i could then get Airi for free.

Simply cannot wait for them to arrive!!!!!!!!!

    9. Yes,
I did ... I ordered Mei & Dai from Resinsoul,
      so they could travel together.

Other than these rather "cheap" dolls I didn't order more than 1 doll at once.

    10. My first time I actually bought three (well, one was an event doll)! They came to my house in two giant boxes at the exact same day which made the whole thing rather convenient. I defiantly don't regret it though since both were limited and I wouldn't have been able to get them otherwise. But I'm not ganna lie, it was a painful experience when it came to my wallet.

    11. I've only gotten them one at a time due to bonding issues. I take awhile before I get used to my dolls! So while I'm waiting to get my next doll, I would be customizing my current ones and enjoying the time I spend with them. It's like getting to know new people :x *awkward turtle*

    12. My first two dolls were bought at the same time and from the same shop so they arrived on a huge box XD I too was hesitant about ordering 2 at once since I'd never touched nor seen one until they came. But I don't regret my decision I am happy with both and now I think that if I had bought one maybe I would regret not having both... It's paying another shipping fee, in my case at least. so If you are sure you like them and have the money, sure, why not?

    13. No, I really don't think I could. Unless it was a deal where one came with the other if you spent so much money, it probably wouldn't be an option for me. I'm thinking about larger dolls, though. Perhaps if we were talking tinies, I'd consider it, but that would be more of an impulse buy than anything (like if they were limited or something). I can't see myself ever planning to buy two dolls at the same time. It's hard enough to focus myself onto saving up for one! :sweat

    14. I did order two fairyland chicline dolls at once.
But i put them on layway, otherwise i technically could have afforded it, but i didnt want to spend that much all at one time xD

    15. I think I posted here before, but yes. Definitely ;)
The DreamingDoll event actually had me end up with four dolls at the same time (two of which were free, but still, they are all staying...). I ordered two Fairyland dolls in the January event and I'll get the Nanuri head too, so technically that's two dolls plus a bit more. And now it happened again in so far as I ordered two dolls within 24 hours, one off the MP and one my oh-so-longed for BeYours Amber through Sunny's World. She comes with an event head too, so that's four dolls and two floating heads I have on the way now. Oh dear :doh Still, I couldn't be happier! :)

    16. Yes, I bought my 2 Teenage Dreams fro Doll leaves together and they arrived with a free Babel doll too. That was a fun day!

    17. Yes, I have, but not from the same company. One from Impldoll, one from Alice's Collections and one from Soul Doll through Denver Doll. The Soul Doll is on layaway, the Impldoll should be delivered next week, and probably another 6 weeks for the doll from Alice's Collections.

My first foray into buying a doll, and I think I kinda went overboard!:celebrate

    18. I did a lot of layaway juggling for a while. I think the most that I did at once was 4 or 5 dolls. A couple on layaway at a company a couple from users. It was surprisingly fun and made my work weeks fly by. I enjoyed it while I did it, but probably will never do it again XD

    19. Once I ordered two minifee at Fairyland. Both were pleasant, and delivery leaves cheaper.

    20. Currently, I am stuck between two dolls I really like, but I don't know if I'd be okay with myself if I got both at once. I've both more than one Pullip at once, but I tend to feel bad if anything costs more than 250 at a time--let alone something close to 800+ X__x So I don't know if I ever will--I just think I'd feel too bad.
