1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. Yes.....I'm ashamed to admit it but yes.....I sometime will have up to four dolls on layaway plus another shipping.

    2. Always. :) Or at least a doll and a spare head, because I can never make my mind about sculpt or size. Before I had problems making decisions about doll's gender as well.. Now there are only girls in my doll family so that difficulty was overcome.

    3. I did it again...I ordered a Delf Claus & Nina a little over a month ago.

    4. I bought a head whilst waiting for my third on topic BJD to arrive. Usually my dolls are one at a time though, so I can bond with them properly :)

    5. Yep! Much to my surprise, I won two dolls on eBay on the same day. There were lots of watchers, so I didn't really think I'd win either. I placed my maximum bids and went off to bed because I didn't feel like staying up for the auctions to end in Pacific Time, which would have been the "wee hours" for me. I had to sign up for PayPal "pay later" credit immediately, heh.

    6. If you've never... Do you think you ever will?

Not if my mom has anything to say about it. Even if I could afford it, she's said again and again: "You don't need two of them." when buying a new doll, but this lets me use my extra money to spoil the newcomer. XD Fabric for their clothes, wigs, sometimes eyes.
What do you think you'd feel like IF you ever did buy two or more at once?

I would be over the moon.

    7. Yes. Two of my earliest dolls actually came at the same time; the company was doing an event where buying a full doll would net a free head of your choice in the same size, so I ordered an extra body at the same time and received two dolls instead of one.

Then I did it again, last year, when I placed an order for three LTFs at once, so I could qualify for free shipping and an event item!

And then again this year, ordering a MNF and LTF at the same time (along with three other dolls for friends, so we could again get free shipping and all the event items)!

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? (aside from painful on your bank account)
Pretty exciting! Since the first ones were very early in my collection, and only the second/third MSDs I'd ever handled, it was fun to be able to compare the two bodies (male vs female), get them styled up, and so on. With the LTFs, they were part of a single family group (the start of it), so it was great to have them to pose together and play with in a group, and with the latest ones... I was mostly excited about the MNF head, honestly, but also found it fun to be able to add into three separate doll families with them.

Did you regret ordering them at once?
Not at all! I'll probably do it again, too, if it'll save me on shipping. (And if FairyLand offers the pair of F60s I want... now that will be painful to my bank account.)

    8. I haven't before. I'm waiting for two dolls now, but they were bought separately and I had fully paid for the first before I ordered the second.

I will be buying two dolls at one soon though. I have been saving hard for a minifee. I reached my goal and decided to keep saving so that i can buy a realpuki at the same time. I'm waiting for the next event though, so maybe I can even stash away enough money for a pukipuki at the same time! :o

    9. Eh sort of. I have one being shipped now and then I just bought two more, but one of them isn't for me. I got my cousin one for a present. All she gets is the face plate when they come in, then the body for Christmas.

    10. I ordered my first two dolls one week apart... and yet they're both arriving today (any minute now). Granted, they're both secondhand... so not *as* painful to the wallet (it's still crying though). Being as they're my first dolls, I'm very overwhelmed! Determined to open the first doll I paid for first, as she's from a friend and will always hold that "first" place in my heart. Very exciting all around! :)

    11. I try not to do stuff like ordering two at once...but things happen. Haha. I currently have two on layaway, and one already paid for that I'm waiting to be shipped. I should really just avoid doll sites altogether until I have those three in my possession, but my dolly wish list is long. :)

    12. I'm actually waiting on my very first dolls, and it's two at once. I couldn't really decide between a boy or a girl and since Doll Leaves was having their summer sale I figured 'why not?' And went for it. My family thinks I'm a little crazy to spend so much on dolls at once but I'm really happy with it.

    13. I just recently had two dolls at once delivered to my house. It was pretty fun, to be honest. They weren't both for me, but the huge box/double box opening was fun.
The double order was because my daughter and I both wanted a doll from the same company (Souldoll). So one was for her, one was for me. We'll probably end up doing the same thing again at some point as I know there are a couple of companies we both want dolls from.
I wouldn't want to get two dolls at once if they were both mine, though; I like to focus on one new doll at a time.

    14. I've never bought two at one time, but have had it happen several times that dolls ordered months apart have arrived either on the same day or within a couple of days. One time I had ordered a CH Cebee, which took NINE months to come. In the meantime I ordered another doll, which was supposed to take several months to come, and finally a third doll, and wouldn't you know it? They all arrived within two days of each other. Kind of overwhelming when that happens.

    15. My head first jump into the hobby is being started with an order of two dolls ordered a few days apart, one from ringdoll, FS Lucifer and the other from Iplehouse, DC Doria.
I've since ordered and received a second head from IH, a head from Impl (for practicing faceups) and a Russell from DC.
I tend to go full bore into new hobbies if its something I know I'll enjoy so this was all very exciting for me.

Really hoping the show up around the same time. It'll be an early Christmas!

    16. I have brought multiple dolls at the same time (same company) and always have a few layaways going on at once (for different companies).

    17. can't do it at this stage of me life. just can't justify the expense.
plus, i kinda like to dedicate my energy to one doll at a time. especially when they are new. :)

    18. Yes. I ordered my DC Dolores and Christina together. Sometime in January I am planning on ordering a male and female together from iplehouse.

    19. I haven't bought two or more at once. But I have had two layaways at once.

    20. Yes I have, saved on shipping ;)
