It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. I'm so guilty of this!! I do this all the time to myself >~< Within a month, I ordered three dolls. (Well technically two dolls, a floating head, and a body but you know what I mean lol) Not to mention, I plan on buying a floating head from Doll Chateau rather soon ^^; (Yay for second hand resin babies and friends who have a shopping impulse!! lol) In all honesty though, none of my dolls were a 'second choice'. Meaning that I purchased them in order of who became avaible first and for what price. This is because all of my dolls are on the same level of want. (I hope that makes sense.) I will admit, buying so many within about two weeks of each other can put a hold on things like clothes, but, I don't mind that ^^

    2. I ordered two dolls at the same time for my first bdj purchase, too. My Dikadoll, Chi, was the main doll I fell in love with, but he had half-closed eyes. I really wanted to have the full rage of customization to play with, so I ordered a Doll Family Damien I named Ellie and decided that he would be for Chi, and Chi would be for me.

Ellie came in first and I was not in love with him at all. His face mold was gorgeous, but there were a lot of problems with the doll. The body even started to split and crack with basic handing! The company gave me a refund and I was able to order a better body, but decided to keep the head. He was a pretty cool guy, and it helped to think that he wasnโ€™t necessarily for me, but for my other doll coming in. Changing the body helped me love him so much more.

Chi came in and he was perfect! I have a clear favorite, but because I like Chi exactly how he is I find I donโ€™t play with him as much as I do Ellie. Chi has one specific look, but I can dress up Ellie in different styles and not feel weird about how off his character is (even if he puts up a fuss about it).

    3. *CHOKES* I'm notoriously bad at this. Most of my income for dolls currently comes from revamping part of my doll family so I've ended up purchasing several dolls almost back-to-back with the money from my sales. It's even worse because I prefer it when layaway is possible so...

I've got my Crobidoll Hobin Daydream on a long layaway with Fabric Friends and Dolls
Then there's my Dollzone order than includes a Carter, a Benjamin and an event pet doll dragon
And I'll also be ordering two more dolls closer to Christmas from Luts (waiting for the winter event although I have the money aside) and a Smartdoll guy once a layaway a person started with me ends...

      It's absolutely ludicrous.

    4. It happens regularly for me. Throughout the year, I rarely have enough money to just buy a doll, unless I've sold one, but I usually do pretty well at Christmas with cash gifts from relatives, so I often buy two dolls then, or sometimes a couple of heads and a full doll. Or if anybody asks early enough what I want, I usually tell my husband and sister what dolls are on my wishlist, so they either go in together to get one, or get me each one on the lower end of the price range. It's not a bad thing, usually. This past year, I got Justin, Piper and Luc all right around the same time in February. I still have all three of them (though Luc got reshelled pretty quickly), and I don't feel any of them are neglected. I just look at winter as my doll time!

    5. I've already ordered two dolls at once. Now I'm just waiting for them to ship out and I can't wait!

Do I regret it? Nope! Had the money and I love this hobby besides hubby brought himself a new laptop which means I get my dollies! The only I do regret is that I didn't wait for the summer event. Let alone I didn't know that they had a summer event. I could have gotten a free head or something, oh well.

    6. I can say that I'm currently doing a 3 layaway's at once, but don't get worried I have worked it out, I actually only have 2 from next week, so all good. I calculated everything out to a T, so looking forward to getting them, well two are one bjd, hybrid u can say, wish me luck all :)

    7. I don't know if it counts, I am waiting for a doll right now and I have two on layaway.. they're all from different stores/companies ><

I doubt they'll arrive at the same time, but I know I am soooo excited to get all of them!! It'd be really cool if they were to arrive at the same time hoho.

My problem with ordering few dolls all in a small frame of time is that I don't have anything ready for them;; I'm too broke to afford clothing and wigs until I'm done paying my layaways.. I feel a little bad for my new dollies. ><

I don't regret ordering many dolls at once, I don't regret ordering the dolls. If I like them, why regret and why waiting when I know I want them! but, sometimes people get bad surprises when their dolls arrive or they don't bond very well with them, hopefully it won't happen to me.

The part where I could say I have regrets is if something bad were to happen, I have no savings.. All my paychecks go to my dolls right now haha. It's not exactly regret, more like worrying ..

    8. I have ordered two dolls at the same time several times and most were from Denver Dolls (Fairyland dolls).
I have gotten two minifees (although at that time I was buying one for my daughter), one littlefee and one pukipuki, one feeple60 and a feeple60 body. My daughter and I also got a set of Luts Zuzu delf limited editions. Of course this was when I was still working and not on a fixed income!

    9. Have you bought a few dolls all at once? Or at least very close together?

Last night I bought 5. Yes. You read that correctly. 5. Two from Fairyland, a Karsh and a Roke, one from Luts, a KD An, and two from Junky Spot, an Myou Sybil and Vera. The Myou dolls will be here next week, or at least they should be.

    10. Wow! While I must say I have never thought of buying 5 dolls all at once, I did get my first 2 within a week or 2 of each other. I've actually been think about doing it again with the latest luts dolls and the fairyland doll(the bunny). I have to say that's very adventure for a newly like me but if you honestly believe you can handle so many at one time good for you.

    11. This year I've bought 9 dolls. Which is a lot! (for me anyway) and several of them in the last couple months. I was away from the hobby for close to 5 years so I guess I had to make up for lost time. Lol.

I think if you can afford it, then go ahead. I gotta admit, money is tight for me now, but I'm still able to pay my bills and stuff. Just means I can't buy lots of clothes and accessories for the dolls now.

    12. O.o Whoa! That's a lot at once. But no, since living on a limited income means I can only afford one doll a year.

    13. I think the most I've bought in one day was maybe two and a head, but I have been waiting on around 4 at one time before!

Now, I've slowed down on buying the dolls themselves, but I normally do have at least 3 doll related items on the way, sometimes up to 12 or more. I tend to splurge more on clothes and accessories now than on resin.

    14. Oh wow! That's a lot, I can't imagine getting that many dolls at once. I'd love to, but it's not a realistic goal for me, haha. That said, all my dolls I've bought somewhat close to each other. I finished paying for my first doll in late September last year I think, then bought my second in November, third in January, fourth in May, and then two I have on layaway which I ordered late June, though one I'm splitting with a friend and the fourth one is a pet doll. It was just unfortunate timing every time, haha. I swore to myself I'll take it easy next year though, because I have an international trip coming up and need to save up for that. At most I'll get a body for the one I'm splitting and things for my current ones, such as wigs and eyes.

    15. Well, since August of this year, I have purchased 7 dolls. (BJDS)
      3 Volks SD girls
      1 Iplehouse JID girl
      1 Luts Senior Delf boy
      1 Granado 68cm boy
      1 DIM MSD girl
The last three I am anxiously waiting on. The most I have bought at one time was only three - from Fairyland back in 2013.

    16. I think the most dolls I've ever ordered / been waiting for at the same time was two, but I've been stalking as many as six all at the same time (at the time, it was two of mine, two of my girlfriend's, and two of my aunt's).

More recently, my gf and I bought something like four dolls all in the space of about three weeks. That was pretty wild :D

We currently have one in shipping (my Serenade Doll Nova), three on order (gf's Serenade Doll Ava, my Dollshe Aramis and gf's Dollshe Husky), and one soon-to-order (my Dollshe Amanda) though :)

    17. I've bought dolls in pairs a number of times, but I really don't like having more than two come in at the same time... so, no. No five-at-a-time orders here. I wouldn't feel like I had time to tinker with that many new arrivals at once.

    18. I've purchased more dolls this year than ever!
It started last January with an event doll. Then in April I decided to sell a body and order a different one. That was to be it for the year. OK, in August I finally caved and put a doll on layaway. A week later a new doll was released I just had to get as it was during an event. Thankfully that one ended up as a Birthday gift from my mom. October came and I ordered one....then this November another special event doll was released. These event dolls are doing me in! And lastly I got one on sale just this week! Somehow all of my dream dolls were released this year. I'm hoping next year there is nothing I like!

    19. Well, two are already made and the other three aren't. So no telling when they'll arrive. I use to average 10 a year. I've slowed WAY down now. Always wanted a Roke, Karsh, and An, and then those other two were impulse buys.

    20. One could say that I bought several dolls in a short span of time. I got my first on-topic doll in March, my second in April, two floating heads in August, and my third full doll in October. I didn't mean for the Flock to grow at such a fast pace, but the second doll was a limited sculpt at a price I couldn't refuse.
