Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. I'm a sucker for combined shipping when ever possible. If there are two dolls I want from a company and I can manage it, I'd much rather just get them together. I've ordered a pair together from three different companies and don't regret it at all. :3 It was double the fun for the box opening and in all cases the dolls feel like they've got a sort of "bond" with each other because of it.

    2. I'm having this happen right now for the second time actually. The first time, it was due to a layaway and a an LE getting shipped at the same time. This time it's because I just so happened to get lucky an buy a head to match a body I had, then two bodies for heads, and another full doll from the mp, so technically it's four dolls this time. It feels pretty good actually- (although it wasn't my original plan to get this many) their all sculpts from my wishlist and many were bargain prices. I'd definitely do it again too, especially with my planned sets of twins. :)

    3. I do this more frequently than I should, probably:sweat If you mean ordering two at the same time I got a couple of BIDs from Iplehouse in the same order, and right now am paying layaway on a pair of Soom twins. If you mean having more than one doll incoming I'm super guilty of that. Got three I'm waiting on now and I'm about to order another. Will say though that I keep thinking I'd like to slow down a bit. I've got all these dolls now in unfinished states (don't have the eyes I want, faceups unfinished, etc) plus my SD girls have practically nothing. I should be developing the ones I have but keep buying LEs*_* Certainly don't regret having them but it would be nice to have more stuff for them!

    4. I would do it if I had the money XD
I do buy dolls together with friends, though. The shipping will be lower :P

    5. I've bought two dolls from the same company together! I tend to buy in pairs, anyway, so they don't get "lonely" being the only one at that size.

What was it like seeing a huge box? Like Christmas!! The dolls were small, but they were packaged separately, so the overall shipping box was pretty big.

Did I regret ordering two at once? Not at all! I think most companies throw in "extras" when more than one doll goes to one house at a time, but I'm not sure.

If you can get two dolls you really really REALLY want for less than $600 (which is a deal in my book-- the company I love doesn't have two dolls for that price, lol), you should probably spring for it! I don't know what company this is, or what your financial situation is, but if this purchase is something you're dying for, and it *won't* break the bank, go ahead!

    6. Once I bought three dolls at once, however It was a local doll producer, who prepared hem specialy for me

    7. I've gotten two dolls at the same time before - little twin dolls. It was great having them show up at the same time, and they've both got very distinct vibes.

As for having dolls on order - hooboy. I've always got a doll or three on order. In fact, at the moment I've got two on order and am planning to put a third on order on Wednesday. Plus some bodies. Plus some accessories. >_> I know that when they come in though, the satisfaction will be well and truly worth it.

    8. I've ordered two dolls at once--from the same company--to save on shipping. I'd saved enough for an SD, but decided on MSD, so had enough money on hand to get the both of them.

    9. My first doll order, I ordered 2 at once ^_^ I was pretty much set at getting two together so they could keep each other company. They were MSDs, so the total cost was manageable. They are the only dolls I've bought (not including one I'm still waiting for), so I can't compare the excitement of 2 arriving with only 1. If I wanted 2 dolls from the same company again, I would do this again! Why not? Unless saving the money would take unbearably long...

    10. Well, my boyfriend and I bought two dolls together once, if that counts they both came in one big box, it was exciting!~ :D Then we got to swap bodies, that was fun as well.
I got a Kid Delf Darae, which only comes on a girl body (or did at that point, I don't know if they've changed that now) but I need him to be a boy. So my boyfriend got his Ani on a boy body and we swapped. :3 I would have kept both if I could! x3 But I didn't pay for both, and Aelic (my Darae) doesn't really like Catrina (my boyfriend's Ani) anyway. :P

    11. Yes, I am a sucka for combined shipping and sadly, my irl bjd friends live far away or we'd prolly share shipping costs. *sigh*

For my first order, the girls were from the same series and limited so I didn't want to risk getting one and then pine for the other to eventually show up in the marketplace.

      > How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house?
Wonderful. It was like Xmas and the girls look smashing next to each other. As soon as I put them side-by-side, I was glad to have sprung (painfully) for both at the same time. Of course, I now want more....Was kinda disappointed as I did not get any extra for ordering both at once. It encourages me to look for other companies who does more for high spenders (my momentary feeling like a Las Vegas casino whale *cough*).

      > Do you think you ever will?
Naw. I don't do regrets. Would prolly just sell them if I end up not liking the sculpts in person.

That said, I realise that it's prolly (relatively-speaking) easier for me to consider order twins b/c I love tinies. If they were MSDs or up, i'm not sure I'd feel the same way...

    12. Well, I've ordered more than one dolls at once, though not - entirely - for myself. The most was 2 dolls and 2 bodies in one order (well, in 2 orders placed within the same week). They were group orders though - only one full doll and a body was mine from that order :) I've also had more than one doll on order at the same time, but from different companies. They arrived at vastly different times though^^

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? (aside from painful on your bank account)

Fun! The boxes were huge and it was awesome having so much to unpack at the same time :)

Did you regret ordering them at once?

No. It was a great way to save on shipping, and I saved up beforehand so it was a calculated thing. I don't think I'd impulse buy more than one doll from the same company at the same time though....but that's because I doubt they'd release two limiteds that I just HAVE to have at the same time. And generally, I'm content with waiting until I save up - the only exception was this year, when Iplehouse and Soom double attacked me with two limiteds that I just had to have. But I doubt that'd occur ever again^^

    13. Oh, I have~ My second and third dolls were ordered together, and two orders I've placed with CustomHouse/Aidolls have been for multiples (one was three dolls, one was six.) I also semi-frequently order Pullips and that's always a 2+ doll order.

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? (aside from painful on your bank account)
It was awesome, haha. It's like the happiness/satisfaction from getting one doll multiplied. xD

Did you regret ordering them at once?
Nope! I tend not to regret until I have the dolls in hand, and realize they may not have been everything I was looking for. Until I can physically see the dolls (because sometimes the company photos aren't the best) I'll be happy with them. xD I wouldn't order them if I wasn't!

I love ordering multiple dolls at once since it saves so much on shipping, or gets you free shipping in some cases! :)

    14. Totally yes! I'm going to order an SD and Yo from Doll-love probably in October/November depending on shipping times. I'm also so guilty of buying loads of items at once to save on shipping. Haha :sweat I doubt I will regret it at all, because in theory I'm getting two dolls I love at the same time for less than I would getting them seperately.

    15. Dollmore shipped the two dolls I bought in the same order separately so they arrived with a few days in between, which was nice. Spread the box opening fun. ^_^

My two Limhwa dolls were shipped together which was painful as I had to pay €300 custom fees at the post office. It's definitely not the most I've paid for a doll (that was €200 for my Soom MD), but still the largest chunk of money ever spent on fees in one go.

    16. My first two dolls came together in one box :D But that was because my friend bought a doll for herself and two event dolls came together with those two, so I got one of the event dolls as a gift in addition to my MSD. XD But personally I haven't bought two at once. I wouldn't mind though... If I had the money I would've bought all the dolls I could at once!

But as I don't... Well, I'll have to settle for one at the time. Unless I'm lucky after christmas and will be able to afford one extra in addition to the one I've already planned. ^^

    17. I did! On at least 3 occasions I have ordered from Dollstown more then 3 dolls or more at a time. Keep in mind this was when they could fill orders in a month or less.

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? Great as they were each packed in own box very well and then in a large box about 4 of their single boxes worked into on big one. It was like a huge flat box almost as big as a 36" TV.
Did you regret ordering them at once? Not at all in fact saved quite a bit on shipping the last time. It meant I had to really think who would stay and in time go, but face ups were done by a good friend and reasonably priced so not a lot of loss when I sold some. But I got the chance to do it and was able to see how good these dolls were. Plus DT are popular at least girls are so no issue selling most and like I said a great company with a great product. Even ran a GO to them one time.

    18. Whoa animemom, didn't yuo have tremendously high taxes and fees for shipping it to your place just like Muisje?

    19. No but I am soon! ^-^ Im gonna order 2 Pukifees or 1 Pukifee and 1 Minifee a la carte :) so either way - 1 dolls from Fairyland early next year :D

    20. How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house?
Exciting! They didn't arrive at the same time, so I had a chance to focus on each one individually.

Did you regret ordering them at once?
      No
