1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. ahahaha...-looks at waiting list- I got...10 dolls I'm waiting for :sweat so yes...I've bought more than one at a time...

    2. This was definitely me when I started out. I'm pretty sure I ordered three dolls, all on layaway, within a one week span. Part of it is simply that I'm an impulsive person. One of them, I'd been thinking about for a long time and I knew he was going to be my first doll. The second one came in stock on DDE suddenly and was a limited so that sort of pushed me into it. The third was actually much cheaper than the other two and that was what probably made me feel more okay about placing an order for it. I certainly recommend being financial stable before immersing yourself in the hobby, but layaways definitely make it easy for me to make purchase. All three of those dolls have already arrived and I've done the same thing again with 2 dolls and one head.

    3. I’ve had at least 2 dolls on order at all times since late February 2018, 3 months after joined the hobby, so yes, I’ve definitely done this. The most I’ve been waiting for at once was 18-19, I think, early this year. I ended up selling most of them when they came in, though, because most of them took a long time to come, and I didn’t really want them anymore. 2020 was definitely a crazy year for me, purchase-wise. Also last year was when I ordered the most dolls I have in one order before. 5 in-stock dolls at once from DDE. Those were all total impulse-buys though, and I don’t own any of them anymore.

luckily, I’ve taken quite a chill pill in 2021, and pushed myself in a more focused direction. I currently have 5 dolls and a head on order, which is reasonable enough for me, since they’re all going to take a long time to get here, and most have already been paid off. I will be making hopefully two more purchases next month when artists open their preorders, and will spend the rest of the year paying their layaways off, and saving money for Christmas presents for my family.

No clue what 2022 will bring, but I really would like to be more careful and thoughtful about my purchases, so I don’t have the feeling of wanting to sell them once they are in my hands.

    4. I’ve done this more and more often over the past couple of years, mostly in an effort to complete my collection. Once I realized how close I was to finally being done shelling all my characters, I just wanted the purchasing to be over once and for all, and for my rather extensive crew to all find their way home! The usual culprit was Luts (because let’s face it, they have pretty much everything, including limited fantasy resin…and I love their aesthetic.) I made a couple of multiple doll orders from them during this time.

    5. I want to tell myself not to but I think as soon as Luts opens their custom faceup again I will order another one straight away which will leave me with two on order!

I'm so terribly impatient (yet patient sometimes, how does that even make sense haha) that I don't really want to wait for the first one to arrive then have to wait again for a second one.
