1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. Looking at this thread again, I'm reminded of an idea that I've been toying with. I would love sometime to order a pair of matching dolls, either identical or sleeping/awake sculpts, to be twins. It's just difficult to manage the money for two at once! XD

    2. Yes, I have done this many times with another collection and in fact bought someone else's collection for a total of 9 dolls arriving at my house at the same time. That was a blast! I am new to BJD's and I am already kicking myself for not ordering the two Doll Chateau girls I wanted. I couldn't decide between MSD and SD, and now, of course, I want both. With the wait periods being what they are, it would have made so much more sense.

    3. SURE! And the company events encourage this, where you have to reach a certain cost level before you win some cool extra prize. Right now I am waiting with great excitement for a MSD and SD from Doll Chateau. I want to make clothes for both sizes, and I love the hands on the big girl. I've wanted to make odd clothes, more like the ones that went with the complete set collection dolls of this company. And I like the idea of giving these two dolls some sort of family connection.

I also am very curious to see how exchanging their heads might be...

I bought 3 elf dolls in an auction. Sometimes circumstances are just right to get more than one.

IF ever I have any regret, there is always our wonderful marketplace. Make someone else's day by a quick delivery of a doll they want...no company waiting times, and a person who has looked at the doll and can answer any questions. I've heard some stories about damage or flaws from dolls received brand new from the companies. er..sorry tangent there for a moment. sort of?"

It is wonderful comfort to know we can swap here without making the financial damage so bad, if a doll doesn't turn out to fit. It is a big decision which dolls you keep and hard to make all from just company pictures, or even with the help of owner's photography.

I'm a new collector and fit the description of honey moon, or our-of-control buyer. In my case it is easier to figure out how I most want to enjoy my dolls by a process of elimination after I've had them all for a while. It's expensive up front, but I am old and can afford it. And what I might lose financially I would call very inexpensive for the amount of joy I get from them. They are my eating out, new clothes, better car, repaired back deck @[email protected]. part of my budget. I'd rather have the dolls than have those other things. They are even my vacation. This is part of my answer to multiple dolls because a big part of the question has to be concerning money/budget aspect.

    4. I bought both my elfdolls at the same time and they were my first dolls. I had fallen in love with Hazy several years ago and saved up for her, and when I went to buy her I saw Euna and fell in love with her too so I took the plunge since I couldn't pick between them  (and they were $555 each - thank god it was near my big 3-0 so my folks paid for most of Euna lol). It was great to have both delivered as I had admired BJD's for many years before I even found out exactly what they were and where to buy them ... plus they don't get lonely on the trip ;)

    5. I would love the opportunity to purchase two dolls at one time. Unfortunately, unless I buy two pre-owned dolls from one buyer.

    6. I bought my Soom Light and Shadow Onyx twins together and that was kind of a brutal layaway. I was grateful that there was layaway, though, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to buy them both during the limited ordering period. Same goes for the Two Dollshe boys my girlfriend and I have on order. The price tag was less shocking but the one year wait has been very frustrating. I think the only other time we've bought two dolls at once was my Volks Lieselotte and her Volks Charlotte.
I find that I am less impulsive than I used to be with new dolls because the marketplace is saturated and it's much more difficult to sell off the dolls that I don't care for upon arrival. Long gone are the days when you could easily get back what you paid within a month of posting it for sale. I am much less willing to experiment now, expecially since my discretionary doll income has been reduced along with the tanking economy.

    7. How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house? (aside from painful on your bank account)
I did this last summer with a couple of dolls on the MP. I originally bought a Luts Bory LE, and then a few days later decided to buy a Luts Cherry with a unique face-up from the same seller. It was really great! The seller included a lot of extras with Cherry and the Bory was a fullset, so it was like Christmas. Plus I liked both the dolls right away, which always helps. I usually think of them as a set since they came on the same day and they're always sitting together on my shelf.

I also ordered a couple of bodies (Ariadoll) and a couple of blank heads (Napidoll Chesi and Naya) recently, but getting blank heads or just bodies doesn't really excite me.

Did you regret ordering them at once?

No, since the Bory and Cherry were from the MP, they needed to be ordered soon or someone else might have got them. With the bodies and blank heads, I ordered during an Event, so I don't regret that one either. If I'd bought everything separately when no event was going on, it would have cost about $200 more.

Overall, though, I wouldn't buy two at once except out of necessity or for saving money. I'd rather have two days to look forward to rather than one big day.

    8. I bought two limited edition yosd's on an impluse and sPent WAY to much money on them. It's not that I regret it but I think I could have bought one and check for a second have for the other. Although that may have been smart but the fact that I had the money an they were limited was just too much of a good reason to buy them. I like having two dolls come in at once because you know you get to open a lot of stuff and you just get so excited. The only down side is that after you get them your ready for some more

    9. How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house?
I don't know. I had to get them myself and that was in winter and quite a long way to go. :/
Other than that I was really happy to finally have them home. ^^
Did you regret ordering them at once?
      Nope. ^^
If you've never... Do you think you ever will?
I won't regret ordering them together. I had the money at the time so I bought them together and since that's a year or so ago I'm sure I won't regret it.

    10. I bought 2 pukis at once. I had the money and thought, why not?

I will do it again. I have a set of identical twins I want to dollify and perfer to order them at the same time so they'll match.

    11. How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house?

My bank account is fine, since I wouldn't have ordered both if I couldn't have afforded it without pain.
Thought originally I had only planned to buy one first and the other was number 3 planned. Then he was suddenly 20 % off and... I checked my account twice and it said 'go for it' and... So I did.
And now... I'm waiting for my first two BJDs to arrive.

Did you regret ordering them at once?

Not yet and I doubt I will.
If you've never... Do you think you ever will?

      See above XD

    12. I have two on the way right now

    13. Once I've ordered my minifee Chloe and pukifee Luna at once in a GO and it was amazing having the whole order (about 5-6 dolls at once) delivered to me *___*

Because of the many winter events going on now, I have 2 Soom boys on layaway, a FL girl, an Iple boy and a Lati girl ordered and incoming:sweat

Do I regret it? Well my bank account surely does <.< But I think once they'll arrive I won't think about it anymore :)

    14. I came into money at one time and I ended up buying three dolls together. In my defense, two of them came as a set. Honestly, I loved having all three. It was a huge excitement to see all of them together. My only problem had been that none of my stuff for them had come, so they were naked, and hairless for awhile. Now though as I look at them with their faceups and clothing, I dont regret it at all! ^^

    15. If I had the money I would, but I have to be a bit careful with my fiances so I haven't yet bought two dolls together.

However, my boyfriend and I are ordering two dolls together if that counts!

    16. I want to, maybe someday when I have the money and two dolls I want who would come at the same time anyway. The only thing I can't imagine getting two BIG dollies at once! Given the size of the larger dolls I see on here, I'd probably want to space out any BIG doll purchases... but then MSD plus MSD might add up to big, as far as my money is concerned.

So yeah, not for a while. :sweat

    17. This past spring my Logan and Ronin were on layaway at the same time. Didn't plan on it. Logan was on first. He was alimtied ed of 25 adn by my math he was goig to sell out by this past spring (and I was right). Then Iple released the Arvid sculpt. I really wanted him in RS and decided to go ahead and get him to save on pay more money for RS later. They arrived about three months apart. I don't regret it, but Barron was a little put out at first. He got over it though. :)

If money were no object, I'd have about four on order now.

    18. I actually have two dolls coming in on the same day soon! I've never gotten two in the same month, let alone at the same time, I'll be occupied for hours I'm sure XD

    19. No, I don't buy two dolls in the same time, because that will cost a lot of customs fees for me. I guess that it would be different then if dolls are tiny ones, but because I like big dolls more, but of course I have tiny dolls as well...

So I would say that it depends of the dolls size will I buy two at them same time or not.

    20. I would like to buy 3 realpukis together if I find them :D I'm only saving money for them!!
