1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did you ever buy two or more dolls at once? :o

Sep 8, 2011

    1. I frequently order dolls in pairs, since I may as well save on shipping where I can. And I just started buying again last month after 3 years or so on hiatus from dollie shopping, so I currently have a number of dolls on order that exceeds 2 by... a bit. I can blame Dollshecraft's sale event for that dent in my savings account :P

    2. Oh my gosh, I love this thread! I'm a newbie to this hobby and I have made up my mind to buy an SD SK Asen. Shortly after, my DoA membership was approved which opened doors for me by way of introducing me to a lot of other doll companies. I soon found myself falling in love with a Doll Chateau boy.

Aaaaaah, I really want both of them! And a DollnDoll Noel I fell in love with even before the DC boy, but being a new dollie owner I'm afraid this is just too much excitement on my part. I'm also afraid that if I go ahead and buy everything, I might not be able to care for everyone as diligently as I would have had had I only owned one dollie. So for now, I'm really trying to harden my heart and keep away from browsing through doll company websites. :(

I'd love to see others' opinions on this, especially from newbies like myself. :)

    3. My very first doll purchase is going to be two dolls - They're going to be twin sisters~

      Probably not a smart move for someone who just got into the hobby, but they're just too beautiful and I can't resist. I've already fallen in love with the characters I have planned for them and everything. ;;

    4. I only have one doll right now, but I am considering buying two YoSD sized dolls and making them fraternal twins. (a boy and a girl) So I would probably buy them at the same time. :)

    5. I have bought multiple dolls at the same time, but they arrived months apart. I felt guilty for spending double than I planned to, but I picked up extra shifts at work and sold a couple of other things to make up for it. It's just harder to focus on buying things for two (or more) incoming dolls than it is for one.

    6. I ordered 3 at once *_* All expensive ones too... It was my annual shopping spree and I broke into my savings to get them.

    7. I've ordered two at once, but they were limited editions. I liked the sight of all the big boxes, but if I had a choice, I would've prefered not to. It's just not my style!

    8. I've never ordered two dolls from a company at the same time, though I'm going to, as soon as I scrape together enough money for them! :) I have ordered dolls on layaway from other sellers and they all kind of overlap, does that count? There's a likelihood that I'll be getting two dolls more or less the same time. XD

Sometimes buying secondhand is a godsend (especially for phased out dolls, like my dream doll), but other times, you can see that people are abusive with pricing (200% markup, anyone?).

I say if you can afford it, go for it! Sometimes dolls can be "better" when brand new, since you'll know exactly what they've been through from day 1. :)

    9. Please don't hate me, or think that I am one of those people who like to talk about all the thing that they have. I am not! I just have a lot to say, and talk about when it comes to these doll. I have found that it takes about 3 to 6 months to get a doll. So I will buy quite a few dolls at a time. I really jump on it when there is a event going on. Like now the summer event that Doll Zone, Illusion Spirit, Impldoll, Dikadoll, and Doll leaves have going on. This is the time for me to buy all the dolls that I have been looking at, and wanting to buy. Plus I will get a gift on top of it all. I do love my freebees:D I also will only buy from a store that has a layaway now.:) After paying up front than haveing to wait 6 month or more for a doll is not for me. I like the 6 month layaway that away by the time your layaway is done being pay for the dolls are here and ready to ship. If the dolls get here before the 6 monthe I just pay off the layaway to get my dolls.:fangirl: I also use the events to buy dolls for co. that I have not got a doll form before. Like Dika Doll, and Illusion Spirit.

    10. Hum. I used to be quite good at telling myself to get one doll at a time - my current crew were ordered very neatly one after the other - but at the moment I'm waiting for one complete doll, one body and one head... If I hadn't stopped myself, I would have ordered two more (tiny) dolls. It would totally be possible because I have the funds right now, but I felt that I would quite possibly be exaggerating :p. The thing that gives me trouble at this moment is that nothing of what I've bought is showing up. I have finished the outfits of my current crew and am dying to work on the next doll - but her body isn't here yet. Extra pain: the other two dolls I'm planning are likely to ship much sooner after the order has been placed than the items I'm currently waiting for. It's VERY tempting to buy from a 'fast' company while waiting for orders from 'slow' ones :P.

    11. Wow, so many responses from newbies like myself! Please don't forget this thread when your dolls come home. I'd love to hear your stories. :) Especially now since I've almost made up my mind to buy a DC Bella and Colin the next time DC has an event. :)

    12. Doll Leaves summer special is going on, so yes, I have purchased 2 dolls at the same time! The freebie doll was just too adorable with her giant eyes. She'll keep me company while the main doll gets a faceup.

    13. if i could have i would have done so when i got my first one, but it would have been way too much!, perhaps one day when i increase my capital i will be able to get the rest of the gang altogether without having to work on a budget. that would be awesome! :D

    14. I bought I think it was 5 Dollstown dolls at once, previous record was 4 at once also via Dollstown. I had decided both times to sell the dolls that just were not working for me, saved up and bought all the DT kids at once. Sadly both times, only able to keep for a short time. But have since learned that I am more thrilled with results from DT then any other company. So now buy them one at a time and plan to keep longer too.

    15. I like buying doing events now because I can now get something for free. That makes it a little bit better to buy 3 or 4 doll at one time. It also help's with the wait if the store you buy from has a layaway. I don't feel to stressed out over the way time. I also know that if it take's to long the store will give you back all of your money. If you buy at the Com. they will not.

    16. I did when I thought I might not get the doll I wanted.

    17. I am actually intending to do this at one point. I have three Iplehouse EIDs I want, so I may end up just saving for an extra long time and ordering them all at once.

    18. Having ordered 3 EIDs from Iplehouse I can tell you that they will break up your order into 2. One order with one doll and the other with 2. They apparently cannot ship more than 2 dolls in the same box. Just wanted to let you know so you can account for shipping costs. I often order 2 dolls at once. I just save long enough to order both. Why? To save on shipping, as long as I know it's 2 dolls I will buy anyway. It's fun to compare and contrast the multiple dolls against each other and then try different personalities on them. :)

    19. My first two bjd's ever I bought as a pair, I did it so I could get the event head from fairyland, and then while waiting for that order to come in I ordered another doll that was in stock, so it was like 3 at a time.

    20. I don't have any dolls yet, but I have already ordered five :sweat three from Resinsoul and two from 5Star. I was originally just going to get two from RS that I really liked, to represent two characters from a D&D game, then my BF wanted one to represent on of his characters, so we kind of bought that one together. A short month later I was browsing around different pages and looking at the different stores when I fell in love with the Angelo doll, he was perfect to represent an elven god, so I bought him shortly after so that I could get the summer deal and thus another doll.

I guess I'm lucky to be attracted to what can be considered the cheaper dolls, I don't really pursue "cheap" dolls ether, I look around in all the stores and luckily the look of the cheaper ones are to my taste.

How did it feel like to have two dolls delivered to your house?
Can't answer that as I haven't gotten them

Did you regret ordering them at once?
No, I'm just giddy with anticipation for them to come home.
