1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup? - Pt.2

Dec 10, 2017

    1. Yes my first doll had a factory face up, she was Supiadoll Muriel. Nowadays I do my own face ups.

    2. Chaeri came with a default faceup, and at first all I redid was her lips...but her brows were all wrong (as a good friend of mine pointed out) and when I wiped those and redid them she looked tons better. I kept the factory eyeliner and lower lashes because I don't do those so well.

    3. I haven't had any doll come in with a factory face-up yet, though I'm open to the idea!

    4. My first doll came with a factory faceup!
I do eventually want to learn face ups for my dolls but I like having my dolls come in with a face, since the wait for the actual doll is exhausting, let alone having to send the blank face off to get painted or painting it myself after all that wait, I just want it available straight away

    5. My first doll also came with a face up that I wiped immediately as it wasn’t my style, however I struggled redoing it. It thought it would be easier :)

    6. Yes, my first doll came with a factory faceup. I was not confident enough to try doing faceups at first and I thought the factory face-up looked pretty nice. Since then I think all my dolls I have got have been blank, but if I really really liked the factory faceup I could go with it - I can always re-do it anyways.

    7. Yep, my first doll came with face-up. Most of the dolls I have on order are arriving with company face-ups with the exception of one of them. I generally like the company face-ups since that's what attracts me to a doll in the first place.

    8. Yes, my first girl came with a faceup! She's a Volks standard Nana. If I want to do a faceup myself, I have to make sure to order a blank doll. . . . I think I'd feel guilty wiping their face off when they already have so much personality. . . . In Nana's case, it's not an issue because I love her default, so she'll keep it as long as possible. :aheartbea

    9. I ordered my first doll blank and naked and he had to suffer through my atrocious attempts at faceups and clothing for years before I gained some competency lol. Since then I order every doll blank if I can. The few that didn't give me an option I wiped the faceup and redid it. I've only kept the original faceup on one of my dolls.

    10. My first doll came with a factory faceup. It was nice and perfect for me as a newbie!

    11. My first doll still has very original faceup and most likely keep it. Most of my dolls have their default faceups and I don't plan on changing them. I do have 2 that did not come with one and still doesn't have one. I am not sure if I will have someone do it for me or try myself. I do know that I will buy a spare head to practice on before I even think about doing it on my real ones.

    12. My first doll came with a company faceup. I love the way it looks, so I don't think I'll ever change it. But I do hope to one day be a great faceup artist and have confidence to if I ever have to change her faceup.

    13. My first was secondhand and had a faceup! Definitely not the company one, but one that I don't plan on having redone for a while

    14. I ordered my first doll blank so I could give him his own unique faceup, same with my 2nd doll.

    15. No, first doll didn’t come with faceup. He was blank! I decided to order him like that because hmm I don’t really remember haha but I believe maybe I had plans for him? Or there was a faceup artist I liked?

    16. Yes, Fergus came with faceup but I have changed it.

    17. My first did! But about a year on the dot later, when I fully got into the hobby, I wiped it and gave him a new one. Now nearly another year later, I might do it again :XD:

    18. Yes ---

My first Vinyl doll had a face a face up, i think my first Resin doll was a Dream of Doll Delphine, who had a default face up as well...

(if my original resin doll was my abio angel... i cant remember which i got first... then no, only because i needed him to have a specific face up)

I have a hard time imagining what a face up looks like on dolls if they dont have one.. i appreciate the blank faces to see really, but i work better knowing what i see could be what i get or similar. when i get them done, i love that the artists can use their creativity to help make parts of what i like a reality.

    19. I bought my first doll from Resinsoul with a faceup because I didn't want to try to do it myself and ruin her, and I wasn't comfortable sending her away for a custom one. I thought she looked beautiful with her company faceup anyway. My doll from Little Monica will have a company faceup, because it fits the character that I am shelling, he'll only need a few things added to him that I can do myself.

    20. My only doll has Soom's faceup both because I didn't want to ruin it by trying it myself and because I really liked it. I do want to do one myself for another doll but, I'm not good at really small details and she's so tiny! I don't know if sending a doll away for custom faceups is doable here in Brasil really :/ our mail system sucks.
