1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup? - Pt.2

Dec 10, 2017

    1. My first doll is a blank head brought in dolls event. I did have two dolls come with offical faceup but I cannot photo well with them. I sold them after few months.

    2. I love some of their sculpts, but I don't care for PlumeDoll's faceups pretty much at all, so I didn't even consider ordering Murmur with. The two dolls I have on order right now are both Resinsoul, and I'm not super big on their company faceups either, so they'll also be blank.

I would consider getting a company faceup if I was ordering from one whose work I really like, but a lot of faceups are a bit too dramatic for my tastes. I like a simple look. (My grail, however, would have the company faceup. I love MiracleDoll's faceups...)

    3. My first dolls had company face up, but I love them anyway (they work great for my OC!) so I probably won't change them.

    4. My first doll did have a faceup, but that was only kind of incidental - that wasn't exactly why I bought her! She was second hand, so it was really a combination of timing and yearning that made me buy her.

The faceup did make her look very lovely, but I really wanted to do something to customize her and make her more "mine" once I got her. I eventually wiped her faceup and gave her a new one.

    5. My first was blank Vindoll, second was unpainted Kira head, she is at Dollshe 26F body. Making face-up and all "be creative" is important reason to be in hobby for me.
I like some company face-up, but I love doing it by myself. It is not perfect, but its creative experience.

    6. My first doll, which I recently ordered, will come with a company face-up.
The reason being that I know I'm not a person with artistic talents so I don't want to ruin the doll by even attempting to give it a face-up.
There's also an artist I really love on instagram but aside from having their commissions closed, I'm really scared of the head going missing while trying to reach the designed destination~.

    7. Yes. He has had 3. First got messed up, had a friend redo it. Didn't like it as much as his first, sent him back to Luts and they redid it. Has not had another. My third and fourth dolls, also from Luts, still have original faceups from 2007 when I got them.

    8. I purchased my [technically] first doll with faceup... she still on her way to my home tho. After that I got my second doll (?) from a secondhand shop and yes he come with his faceup too.

I'm not planning to work on any faceup project soon (in year). So, having a doll with faceup is good for me (and my wallet, lol) or else I have to spend my budget on a commission somewhere to get them a nice face.

    9. Yes, both my first and 2nd did. They were both tinies and I liked them the way they were.

    10. Nope~ I didn't quite like the company faceup and XD it would've been too much of a hassle to email them for custom ones cuz you'd need a blueprint right? a mock-up of the image and what you want it to be? haha so rather than that XD I decided that it would be better to just do my own it's not that permanent anyway plus itd save money haha
Rn I'm still trying to find a place where they sell Mr Superclear but yeee I'm planning to do mai boi's faceup on my own~

    11. My first doll was a fullset so it came with the company faceup and I thought I'd be happy to wipe it away and paint on my own, but once I got her in person I just didn't have the heart to. The faceup has so many little details I didn't see in the photos and I fell in love with it. It's just too pretty to remove! Maybe next time

    12. My first doll came with a beautiful factory faceup, but now I kind of wish I'd started with a blank one. My first doll is also the only doll I've ever had, and I'd like to get started with practicing my own faceups, but now I'm too scared to remove her current one in the fear that I won't be able to recreate it as good as it was.

    13. yes my first doll was purchased from factory directly with full make up upgraded, I think it's kind of important to have your first doll with make ups, so you can enjoy playing with him/her without worry about the make ups

    14. My first came with a face-up but now I like to buy blank and commission a face-up.
I would really like to learn how to do my own but I dont have the time right now but hopefully one day ^-^

    15. Nope! I did so much research before making my first purchase that I knew exactly how I wanted him to look and who I wanted to do it lol I find I rarely like company face ups though

    16. Yes, my very first BJD was an Iplehouse BID Elin with a company faceup, and she was so precious and perfect.

    17. I agree. I have to have dolls with a faceup and wouldn’t even attempt to do them myself.

    18. All of my dolls have come with a faceup, both new and second hand. I did have my 2nd hand doll redone by an artist, though. Even if I plan to get dolls redone at some point, I always spend the extra money to have the company faceup version. I like to play with them straight away right out of the box and see how they come together with clothes, wig, etc. I guess Im too impatient Lol

    19. all three of my Original generation dolls (when i was a teen) came with faceups. I wasn't confident enough to even restring my Island Doll let alone attempt my own faceup hahha

    20. My first came without a faceup and I tried it by myself, which didn't turn out very well ;u; now, several years later, a friend of mine is going to do one for me!
