1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. My first came with a face up. I had all these ideas and wanted to do her face up really bad, but it never happened :( Things happened, I couldn't get all the supplies, so I just ordered her company one! It's really cute at least! :)

    2. My first doll came with the stock faceup but it was a light one and rapidly I modified it (Ya Resinsoul) Now I have made a new makeup more personal

    3. My first doll is coming with a company face up... but, to be fair, it's the Souldoll "Stain" Makeup. I fell in love with the way it looked, especially on Cubarem's pouty face, and couldn't help myself to get the faceup too!

    4. I can't do my own face up. I would not ever even attempt it, so I went with factory face up. I had not really considered sending my doll to an artist, but at some point I may do this with other dolls because I really like fantasy faceup.

    5. Nope. My daughter bought me my first doll for my birthday last summer. She arrived in September and only just had her head packed off this week to get a face finally. Seemed silly to spend an extra $40+ for a company faceup when I can get a way better one for only a little more. :)

    6. Actually my first doll was one which i bought secondhanded on this page. he had a face up but it looked very natural and not really like i wanted him to be so a few days later everything was removed and he was completely restyled :$

    7. All my dolls came with face-ups. Some I have enhanced & others simply left alone. The face-up is a big part of the doll to me & blank dolls just don't do it for me. That said, I do have a doll that I want wiped & a custom face-up done as her current face-up is a bit crude for my liking. But still, I wouldn't have bought her blank.

    8. My first doll was secondhand limited with a company faceup. It's fairly natural, and gives him a bit of a mischievous look which fits the character (and the girl I bought him from said there aren't many of him with company faceups) so I left it. My second doll I'm ordering new and she will have a company faceup, because I haven't had a chance to practice much and don't want to mess her up, and I think that company's faceups are pretty.

    9. My both dolls have come with blank faces. And probably my all dolls will be doing so. I like doing face ups, even if I'm not as good on it as would like to be.

    10. My doll came with the default company face-up and I really love it.
I really want to learn how to do face ups on my own but I'll need to save up some money to get the supplies and practice.

    11. My first doll came with custom company face-up (LUTS). All my other dolls were either sent to artists or had custom face-ups done by the company.

    12. My first doll came with a company faceup. I needed her to, because I was a noob and too afraid I would ruin her pretty little face if I attempt to do it myself.XD

    13. My first doll came without faceup, as I was really looking forward to that part of the hobby. But yes, it was annoying sometimes that I couldn't get it right, or that he (CP delf Shine) was just lying around faceless (poor guy). XD
I've never bought a doll with a faceup actually. I always want to do them myself. ^^"

    14. my first doll was ordered with makeup. In the beginning in the hobby, it's fine because we do not know the world of BJD correctly. But now, I find that it is better to have a no makeup doll for the pleasure of self-customize her

    15. My first was a dollmore Momo, and i adored her very much. she came with default faceup. i think a lot of people gets default faceup for their firsts as a study. its different looking at pictures online than having one right in your hand.
i remembered being wowed by the details and curves. the eyelashes, the lips, the eyebrows, and wondered how did they get them symmetrical?

    16. My first boy was a fullset! He came with the company faceup, wig, outfit, accessories, everything. I think I kind of didn't want to have a naked 60cm boy lying around the house, so I just got the whole thing

My next doll's going to have a custom faceup though, whoooooo

I actually think for the next few dolls I get, I want to have custom faceups done. I think custom faceups are a lot more creative and imaginative, and help to give your doll it's own character, instead of having the company default

    17. I'm not artistic at all, so I would never even attempt a face-up on my own! It would end up to be a disaster!
My doll-leaves WISH boy came without a faceup, and I'm currently searching around for a face-up artist for a custom one!

    18. Yes! :)
My DF-H boy is a secondhand doll and he arrived with company face-up. I find him lovely! :D

    19. When I ordered my first doll, I bought her with the company's faceup :3

    20. yes! I fell in love with the doll and wanted him to look just like the company pictures. I would have been totally terrified to order him any other way!
