It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. Both my dolls came with face ups but they were also second hand. Neither of them had factory face ups so I think it was how their faces looked that drew me to them in the first place. I do want to practise doing my own now as my first dolls faceup was removed to mod her nose.

    2. My first doll did not come with a factory face up.
It really did not go with the character I had in mind, so no face up. And I was convinced that I could do it myself back then....:sweat

    3. I've actually received more company face-ups/other artists face-ups on dolls in the last couple years than when I first started collecting, and I actually just wiped the last of them the other day. I LOVE seeing other people's work. My Iplehouse Evan in particular had a really lovely face-up. I just find my dolls don't feel like mine when someone else has painted them, as silly as I know that sounds.

    4. When I ordered my first doll (doll-leaves WISH) I ordered him with a blank face. The company faceup is beautiful, but not what I had in mind for my character. I'm no artist so I would never attempt a faceup myself, and am planning to send him off to be worked on by someone else!

    5. My first doll was a second-hand from someone who didn't play with him anymore. He came with default DoD face up I believe, but the eyelashes were clumped up due to age...my sister redid his face up and he looks as lovely as ever :)

    6. I bought my first doll second hand and she came with a face up that I love.
I then bought the next two already faced up but wasn't too happy with the results.
The fourth doll I bought I purchased a face up *and* a spare blank head so I can practice without destroying anything.

    7. my first doll came with face up, didn't dare try painting it myself.

    8. I got my doll second hand and was expecting to wipe the faceup upon arrival. Little did I know I would fall deeply in love with it. Oh well, saved me a lot of time and money

    9. I was scared, so I had the company do face up. But now I do it myself !!

    10. My first lady came with the company faceup. I actually really love it on her, and will probably keep it ^^

    11. My first doll came with face up but it didn't feet my character. So, I re-painted him. And again. And... about seven times x) It was funny, but he mde me crazy. But the result is good for me now =)

    12. My first doll, a resinsoul mei, came with the default faceup since it was only 10 dollars and I'm weird and don't like blank dolls. Though, I soon got very sick of the faceup (RS faceups aren't the most flattering ones in the world...) and got her a new one...she looks so much better now!

    13. My first doll came with a default faceup which I am really satisfied with. I have no experience to make a faceup by myself, so it was a safe way for me for the first time. I do really love her eyebrows.

    14. Yes, my first doll came with her default faceup, which was a big reason I ended up getting her instead of the doll I'd been planning on getting first! I got her secondhand, but her faceup was still in really good shape and she was beautiful... Of course, later, I got her an even better faceup (Thanks Shallowsleep!) but sadly, I never really bonded with her or figured out her character, so after nearly four years, I finally sold her. I'm sure she's much happier wherever she is now, being given the love she deserves. ^ - ^

    15. My first doll came with the factory face-up. It took me a couple of years to get the nerve up to ship one out to an artist. I kept worrying about them getting lost etc. But I've had great experiences with it. My first I sent out took 6 months to complete... but at least she arrived home and was beautiful.

    16. Nope, no face-ups (and surprisingly my first doll looked good without it). Actually a good pair of eyes and some lashes make a huge difference to begin with. Making lots of photo's to see how the light fall effects the face, also works for me. Now all I need to do is stop gazing at inspiring photo's, and show some courage for my first face-up...

    17. All my dolls have come with faceups.

    18. My first doll came with a faceup, but from there I jumped right in to buying a used doll that came to me unstrung and had no faceup... so I got to learn how to do a faceup AND restring my doll all in one! He was already damaged and his price reflected that, so I figured if I messed up it wouldn't really matter as much as it would if I had spent more on a brand new doll. ^_^;

    19. yes. it already has the company face up and i don't plan in changing it at the moment but for my second doll i'll be doing the face up. i'm pretty much excited :3

    20. My fist doll did come with a face up, was a custom repaint. My dolls are split between custom and factory face ups. I do have a couple of blank heads I plan to send out for face ups.
