1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. If she's still available when I make my first purchase, it will be a DOT Tender E-an with a face up and the standard E-an head with no face-up. I think....

    2. I ordered my first girl with the faceup, mainly because I still wasn't quite confident enough in doing it myself and I didn't know anyone really well to know who did faceups.

    3. My first doll did not come with a face-up. I thought that I should just jump in all the way with the hobby and learn how to do them myself. I'm by no means good at them but what I can do doesn't repulse me anymore

    4. Yes my first girlie, had a factory race up that had been beautifully enhanced by her previous owner! I generally love most factory face ups so I would always get a doll with one, if I did want a custom face up I'd feel guilty leaving them blank!
I would love to do my own face ups one day!

    5. Yes, I pre-ordered a WS Minifee Shushu with a factory faceup. But I do like buying blank heads and giving it a go every one in awhile. Even if they don't look as polished and professional as a factory face up or a one of a kind, some of my home made face ups let the personality of the doll shine through.

    6. I only ordered my first doll a few weeks ago, but I did order her with face up!

    7. I'm so afraid of doing a bad job on face ups (I have yet to do one for a BJD) So since I just ordered my first BJD I of course opted for his face up. Besides it's the company face up that really made me fall in love with his sculpt. I can't wait to see him in person. It's funny because my boss said I could have him shipped to the store and she said she can't wait till he comes in either because she can't wait to see what he looks like as well.

    8. Technically the first 2 dolls I'be ordered have faceups but they're preorder.
The first doll I brought home (in-stock) didn't have one.

    9. My first was a blank floating head that I was so lucky to get. Learning how to do a faceup quickly was part of the price I paid for falling in love quickly with a rare sculpt in a doll scale I'd never worked with before (K-doll Kian).

    10. My first girl came with a faceup because I had no idea WHAT I was doing lol. But I do now, but most of the time I still get a faceup if I can.

    11. My first one got a faceup because I had zero experience for doing faceups.
since that moment I have had some dolls without faceup, but when I know a company makes awesome faceups, I don't mind paying another 50$ for it :) especially with my limited dolls ... and since I'm addicted to limiteds... well xD

    12. Yeah. I was super nervous of not being able to do a good enough face up and then hating her. Recently I have got more confidence, and the dolls I'm waiting for right now are both blank! I'm an art student, how hard could it be to paint a face on a doll...?

    13. Yes, she comes with a faceup, because it was a event gift :)

    14. I ordered my dolls without a faceup...because I draw everyday and it wasn't that hard for me :)
Just the human-looking doll was and still is a bit harder but after seeing a faceup made by a pro I learnd more and it turns out like I wanted.
      ^-^~
In my opinion it's really fun to do tattoos and faceup. Haha but the maybe-next-doll has a company faceup ..and I am excited :)
I like the way they draw thin lines and blush...I need still a bit equipment to do as perfect as they do *sigh*

    15. Yes it did ! It was acompany faceup and it turned out softer than I thought it would be but I think it was prettier this way. She came with body blushing too !

    16. My first doll was actually 3rd hand and she had an old faceup on, it was pretty damaged as was her face sadly, so I wiped it off straight away and redid it. However the first doll I bought brand new I opted to get the faceup as it worked for his character and I'm happy with it :)

    17. I did my first doll's face up myself. I was afraid the head might get lost while shipping, or the fu artist wouldn't grasp my idea of his character. No regrets, it was fun!

    18. My first doll came with company faceup because I knew nothing about faceups. And it was the faceup she had that made me fall in love with her so of course I had to order her with it.

    19. My first doll was blank :D The faceup was just too expensive for me to buy and I wanted to do it on my own. Compared to the company's faceup costs and the materials I got for doing my own faceups, I say I saved quite a lot of money, and I can use the materials for other dolls in the future. Granted, my first faceup was not that good [my profile picture/avatar] but I am improving a bit ^^; I now know that what I will be spending on a lot is MSC haha, I like wiping my doll's face then redoing her faceup again...

    20. My first doll came with a face-up. It was back in 2004 when face-ups were cheap and I didn't want to try painting it on my own. ;P
