1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. my first girl is in the post to me as we speak and no she doesnt have a faceup. i'm looking forward to having a go but if its an epic fail i'll ask my brother in law to do it. he's a game artist and had worked on a lot of big games and he would do it for me if i asked him. i'm sure a lot of you have seen his work. he's one of the game artists of grande theft auto.

    2. I got my first doll without a face-up. I was looking more at her facial features. The company face-up wasn't what I pictured for her but she was the doll that I knew I wanted.

    3. I got my first doll way back in 2010 with a faceup just because I didn't know a thing about doing faceups yet and I actually love her faceup so it works both ways. Unfortunately after 5 years with me, she had a chip on her faceup and I had to send her out to get her original faceup back again. I soooo love her default faceup and I'm actually super happy that the faceup artist was able to recreate that. I experiment with my other dolls but I don't ever plan on touching her since she's my first ever one and she's really special. ^_^

    4. My first BJD had a gorgeous custom face up, I bought her second hand, I bet it was the face up that hooked me. My second BJD had a gorgeous factory face up... And my third one will also have a factory face up.

    5. I did order my first one with a faceup just because there wasn't much info in doing them before. Also I'm not artistically inclined so I had to. BUT! I did get accomplishements when I was finally able to do a faceup on my grail doll.

    6. Yes. I was a very excited first-time owner, so it was more important to me that the doll have a faceup so I would a.) be able to play with him immediately and b.) not have to send him off again to be done up by an artist. Needless to say, I fell in love with the idea of artist faceups, so that's the route I usually go now.

    7. My first, and only doll at the moment, came with a faceup. She was a birthday gift from my sister! I have plans on getting her a custom faceup though!

    8. Yup he did as I bought him 2nd hand, and it was his faceup I fell for :)

    9. I ordered my doll love hugh with the company face up but when I recieved him there was a noticeable line of blush going from one cheek, across the nose, to the other cheek e3e it was too unpleasing to look at so I just gathered my courage and re did it myself
      the company face up

      you can kinda see the line here; this is my face up. First one I've ever done;;

I've considered sending him off and getting a more professional looking face up but I hate to do that and I kinda like being able to say I did his face X3 It makes me proud~

    10. My first will be arriving with a company face-up, though if I'd not really liked the default face-up I'd have gotten him blank and then not had any idea what to do with him. He'd probably have stayed blank for a while.

    11. The budget was tight when I bought my first doll, but since the face-up from resinsoul is really cheap, I did take it because even if it won't be her permanent face-up, at least she would be pretty enough to start taking pictures right away. I'm very interested in learning how to do faceups, but also very scared considering my drawing/painting skills...(Ouch!) Although I know I want her to get a nicer faceup soon, I don't regret asking the company for a very basic one! I don't think I would have been able to start bonding with her if she had had a blank face...

    12. My first doll did not have a face up. I had to give him one later .

    13. I bought my first doll with a faceup.
I don't want to ruin my first doll yet hihi :sweat
At first i plan to practice a lot!

    14. I plan on buying my first doll with a faceup! :)

    15. I actually like company's face ups a lot. So yes, he came with a face up.

    16. Yes. I got the FL default face-up for the minifee Chloe. At first, I didn't like it. It was too dark for me. But since then, it's grown on me, and now, I like it a lot.

    17. Yes! But because when I bought her I didn´t know much about custom face up :XD:

    18. Yes, but I really like the company's faceup, plus I've read that the company faceup generally lasts longer. If I could keep her faceup forever, I would...

    19. I ordered my doll without a company faceup's, because i don't really like Fairylands faceup and i couldn't see my character in their work. So i had planned and spoke with Rakeru (Sensei's make up) and she made me the faceup that i wanted!:aheartbea I so love her work, she is so fantastic and talented artist! :):aheartbea

    20. All my dolls came home without face-ups. Mostly because I usually don't like the factory face-ups for the character, and because they are usually very expensive.
I do not know how to do face-ups but I prefer to send them to dolly friends that can do it, so I can have a custom face-up, usually cheaper than factory face-ups.
