1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. Mine did. Only because I was new and wanted him to come read to play with rather than having to do a lot of extra things. Plus I didn't know about any face-up artists when I ordered him.

One of my dolls on layaway is going to get a custom face-up done though ^^

    2. My first doll did come with a face-up. I actually ordered her without one, but the dealer emailed me to say that the blank version was out of stock but they had a face-up version for only $10 more, so I decided to go for it. I was intending on doing her face-up myself so it only lasted a few weeks before I wiped it and did my own. (It was awful, but it was a start.)

    3. Nope! I ordered my first girl blank because I wanted to do her faceup myself. I doubt I'll ever buy a doll new with a factory faceup.

    4. My first doll came with the company faceup, my second I ordered blank...and she is still blank three months later...I think it could be the fear of the blank canvas :L
I think I might just try and add on to the company faceup from my first doll (she has no lashes and sometimes it weirds me out!!) and then try a full faceup on my second girl in the new year once I'm feeling braver! XxX

    5. Yes, my first 3 dolls came with a stock factory face up, but I felt that took some of the 'fun' out of customizing for me, and I never grew attached to them.

All, save one( I bought second hand, and I touched up her face up anyway), of my subsequent dolls have arrived blank. Face ups can be tedious and may not go the way I intend the first time, but it's my favorite part of customization.

    6. My first doll came with the company faceup. I plan on getting most if not all of my dolls with the company faceup until I really perfect my skills.

    7. I got a company faceup on my first doll. I just wanted her to be ready to go and start her character! I do want to send her out for a new faceup soon.. hopefully this year I will get a head I can practice on and do my own faceups in the future! That being said, I have a good artist I'm hoping can take my doll on!

    8. I got my first doll with the company faceup because it was fairly cheap and I didn't have the supplies ready for faceups! It's been a year and a half since and she still has it however, as even though her character has freckles, I'm too nervous to wipe her face or add to it since it is really well done. :sweat I do have two other dolls that I practice on however, and once I feel confident enough I'm sure I'll redo hers. I don't think I'd get another doll with a company faceup, but I'm glad I did for my first!

    9. First doll came with no face-up. And many face plates that needed a face. I barely sent one of them out for a face.

    10. My first doll did not come with a faceup. I had to order the head I wanted separately, and having a pre done faceup was not an option. I was able to find a face-up artist in the US that I liked and sent her off to be completed. If I had the option to order her with a faceup I probably would have. I do like that her look is completely unique though! :aheartbea

    11. I bought my first (and only) doll blank and am doing her face-ups and wigs myself.
The results so far are...meh. I'll probably send her to a proper artist soon.

    12. My first doll came with the company faceup, because I didn't feel like I had to skills or know how to do a faceup myself. Since it was my first doll, I wanted it to be already completed, so I could just jump in and enjoy her to the fullest, especially since she was an expensive first choice.

    13. My first doll came with a faceup, because it was one of the things I loved about her. I don't plan to change it any time soon!

    14. My first doll was Dollshe and I had no choice. But now I'm happy with it.
I like custom face-up by skilled masters for my dolls.

    15. My first doll came with a face-up so he wouldn't sit around blank. I was very new to the hobby, didn't really know anyone and had no idea commissioning face-up services was a thing. Since then I've ordered a few blank dolls, and some with default face-ups just so they'll have something while I find the perfect face-up artist for that particular doll (or have time to start practicing doing it myself)

    16. My first doll was a blank girl. I ordered her without face-up because I liked the idea of customizing every possible part of her with my own hands. After a few attempts she turned out suprisingly nice looking. ^^

    17. She came with a face up! <3 It's so pretty I don't think I'll have it changed :-)

    18. Nope. super blank and needing some shading

    19. My first doll came with a Face-up, and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous:) He still has his Faceup too. However, almost all the dolls I've bought recently will be sent out to a Face-up artist. I think as you grow with the hobby, so does your specific ideas of each doll. I love the idea of having a faceup that is completely unique :XD:

    20. My first dolls came with factory face-up, since I didn't want my first dolls to have a badly made face-up.
