1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. My first doll came in Full Set with default face up. He is a Dollzone Megi-2. And it's perfect.
I have only 2 dolls with Custom face up. But these are old and need to be replaced. Moreover, I do not like the Custom Face Up. I wish the 2 dolls had the Company Face Up.

    2. Unfortunately , I order my 1st doll without faceup just because i'm really curious how to paint a doll and make a character for my doll by my self :whee::aheartbea

    3. I had no experience what so ever but I got my first doll without a face up. It took me at least 5 tries over a long period to get it right. It was a learning curve but I enjoyed it very much and it helped me bond with her and make me less frightfull of doing anything wrong with her.

    4. Yep, but I removed and re-did it myself within a week :XD: customization is the biggest draw for me in this hobby. I'm not satisfied unless I give my doll a face that is uniquely theirs - either fitting their character, or creating a character for them. I have yet to commission a face-up (I think I have control issues. Also, I hate the idea of getting a new doll and then having to immediately send their head away!) but I want to someday. There are a few artists whose work I adore so much, I would love to have them paint a dolly for me.

    5. My first doll came with a faceup but he had no body for a year. I had his head sit in a teacup for the time.

    6. Getting the factory faceup for the first doll is probably a good idea unless youve done it before because its quite intimidating sometimes ^^; my first doll came with a faceup because i was scared of doing it myself and messing up haha

    7. I ordered mine with the company's normal face-up but I think I'm going to send off the doll to an artist after awhile because... well.. everyone has this faceup and I also want to make the doll look more like my style.

    8. I ordered my first doll without faceup, but accidentally company did faceup on my doll. So I got free faceup by mistake :)

    9. Yep! I got my first doll at the beginning of this month, and I went ahead and got factory face-up for her. My main goal is to practice sewing stuff for her, so I wanted to go ahead and have a doll with face-up done so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Plus it was only $10 to add a face-up, so at that point it was more than worth it to me.

    10. Yeah, my first doll came with a faceup and honestly I actually really didn't like it. So I had to get him a face up done. It took me a while to get the money ready for this so I had to put up with the face, but I was still happy with him cause he was my first doll and who doesn't have a soft spot for their first doll.

    11. Yes yes yes. For some reason the art of the faceup has never been my strong spot. I love art and I make art and craft all the time but when it comes to faceups...I am dead in water. It is my one greatest weakness in the doll hobby! So yes my first doll came with one and every other doll after that.

    12. Coming into this hobby was pretty intimidating so I definitely got the factory faceup! It took awhile before I had the guts to wipe his face and try it myself.

    13. Unless I have a specific look in mind, then I get my dolls with the default face up.

    14. Sadly, there was no option for a company faceup, so I had to order her blank.
I am planning on sending her to a faceup artist shortly after she arrives.
I would like to do a faceup for her myself one day, but I do not have the money to invest in proper equipment at the time.

    15. No, he didn't! I wanted my first doll to be completely, 100% "mine"

    16. My first girl is being made, and she'll have her Limited faceup to go with her set. <3 I'm glad, because I like it a lot more than the defaut.

    17. My first (and only) doll came to me in 2012 with her factory faceup. It is ready for another faceup but I have been putting off removing the first one because I am nervous! I want to start practicing faceups with her, but I am still trying to do a lot of research and make sure I get the right supplies.

    18. My first doll came without a face up beacuse I really wanted try it myself. This is what she looks like now:

    19. When I ordered my first doll I got him with a face up just because I didn't know how to do it myself but since then it has changed a little ! I'm still not all that good at them but it looks pretty nice still !

    20. My first doll will come without a faceup.
The faceup by the company is pretty but the doll has shiny eyelids and no eyeliner...while I prefer matte and colorful eyelids with eyeliner, so I ordered her blank.

Edit: When I received my first doll, eventhough I ordered her blank, she came with a faceup. ^^'
