It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. I planned to buy my first doll with a face up, I was scared of ruining him.
Yet for some reason, I decided I believed in myself so much that I ordered him without face up. Now, I am hoarding face up supplies and I am very excited! Wish me luck!

    2. Haha, my first doll comes with company faceup. I do not want to ruin his cute face with my amateur faceup skills lol.

    3. I ordered my first doll with company faceup. I intend on commissionning a faceup artist for the two dolls I'm waiting for.
I'm too afraid kind of? to try doing it myself, also I'm not patient enough I think for faceups.. They wouldn't look as good as I want from the first try ><.

    4. Yes, I pretty much plan to buy any doll I get with a faceup since I don't have sufficient skills to be able to do one myself and at the moment don't have plans for any dolls that would need fancy/fantasy type faceups.

    5. Yes, my first few came with the company face-up.

    6. My first doll came with her company face up, not because I'm nervous about doing one, I just really loved the company face up. I do have some off topic dolls me, and the help of friends who have given face ups to tho. Since some of my friends are in the hobby, and others do painting in various forms I ask them for help with certain techniques, so I'm not too worried about doing my own face ups.

    7. My first doll came with a custom artist face up which I'm kind of glad for, I feel like it would be alot for me to start with a blank doll but I am now super excited to start practising doing my own :> All my dolls form now will likely be ordered blank if I am getting them brand new.

    8. My first doll had a company face up that I later modified to have purple eye shadow and shimmery lips.

    9. All of my dolls have arrived blank, including the first one. I enjoy being able to personalize them myself, though I was very nervous the first time doing an actual face up. It's a lot easier now, and I hope to continue improving.

    10. My first doll I got as a full set so he came with a face up. I'm not very good at painting and the idea of messing up something I had paid a good deal of money for scared me.

    11. When you ordered your first doll did you get him/her with a faceup?

I got my first bjd doll in 2014.She is Lati white belle -mini pot with make-up.
Now I have more than 20 bjd dolls.I sent them to faceup artists in my own country.
I do want to faceup by myself, but really not good for my own skill.:)
I think it will be better to find faceup artists than myself.:wiggle

    12. Nope :) so I did the faceup by myself at that time. it was not good haha

    13. My first girl was secondhand, and she did have a faceup. . . which I wiped and replaced as soon as my first can of MSC came in. XD

    14. My first doll was completely blank, as I had intended to immediately send him to a faceup artist and have him customized. Unfortunately, I didn't bond with him like I had hoped, but my second doll also arrived blank and I bonded with her immediately. I think every doll I purchase from now on will still originally be blank. For me, designing them is part of the bonding experience. I plan on trying my own faceups on practice heads veeeeeeeeery soon, though! :3nodding:

    15. My first doll will have a face-up by the artist because A) no skills B) not going to risk ruining my first doll :/

    16. yes.. but i remove it. i like to paint my dolls by myself ñ.ñ

    17. Nope. I like my doll with blank and then I send to faceup artis with my preferences to match their personality/character :love

    18. I didn't know much about BJD's when I first got into the hobby so my first doll came with a company faceup because I didn't u see stand why I'd want a blank doll. I've since done a lot of research and although I'm not artistic so doing my own faceups is out of the question, I now get all my heads blank and send them away for faceups. I'm actually about to send my first ever doll away to have a new fresh faceup done in the style I like 5 years after buying her :)

    19. Yes :) I liked his face-up and I also was to scared to paint my very first doll by myself :shudder But I hope I can do some on my future doll(s) :3nodding:

    20. My first doll received my first face up and I am very sorry for her (it was awful).
