1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. Nope. Like a few others here, I wanted the doll to be a creative outlet. He looks... okay, but I definitely need to work on my skills. I'm better at cute girly faces than "cool guy" faces it seems. :T

    2. Mine were all secondhand, and they came with faceups.

    3. Nah, a good friend of mine does my faceups. She's very good. I'm waiting til I can see her again to get my SD girl done finally and probably re-doing my little dryad.

    4. Yes. I didn't think I'd have time to learn it myself and I wanted to start enjoying her "look" immediately.

    5. Yes - in fact, the company face up was the deciding factor that pushed me over the edge to making the purchase at all.

    6. Yes, I was choosing for the most "talking-to-me" face up from the bjd-artist and when I saw one I bought her immediately.

    7. It's pretty much the very reason why I bought my girl on impulse. :) Her faceup was done by lunar bjd. It was really beautiful and got me mesmerized by it.

    8. Well I'm getting my first dolls without a face up. While I am waiting for them, I'm repainting old/for sale Plastic dolls to practice. I now have repainted 12 faces and I can tell, that I'm learning a lot and improving with every doll. Of course it will be something different on my real doll, but I personally don't think, that default faceups are personal. (they would also not fit for the characters I'm going for) Since I love repainting dolls, it will also be a very fun and exciting project.

      but that's just personal preference:kitty2

    9. Yes, It has got beautiful factory face up)

    10. My first resin girl came with a company face up. It was quite nice but not quite what I wanted. I've attempted faceups on other blank dolls...and I've finally decided that painting them myself is just not going to happen. I'll happily send them out to other artists when I have the funds now.

    11. My first doll was a Fantasy doll Tobias (I still have him) :D
But he came with the company faceup which was a free option to select with my purchase. And I picked it because I wasn't sure how to do it myself, or who to even ask. I kind of came into the hobby without any prior research or knowledge despite knowing a few people who were in it.

He kept his default faceup for a year before it started chipping, and at that point I had met people and found an artist in my community to give him a new faceup. And since then, she's pretty much worked on all my dolls, lol!

I'm still not great at faceups. HAHA! :P :D

    12. Personally my first doll did have the faceup at the purchase, I bougt it in the store for cash and got it with all the clothes and (obviously) faceup she had on the shelf in the store, carrying it with me that same day :)

    13. i ordered my first doll sans face up ^^ because i wanted to do it myself ^^ and so far i have only had one doll that came with a face up that i did however wipe beaches i wanted to change it and do it myself ^^ he also wound up with a full body blush ^^ with scales and everything ^^
personally i really enjoy the face up process and for me its a big part of the hobby ^^

    14. I am ordering my first doll with company face up,yeah)

    15. All mine do! I'm terrified to do my own.

    16. My first doll was without face up, but friend of mine do face up to her as fast as he could :)

    17. I ordered my first girl blank, although her company faceup is pretty i felt it didn't exactly fit what i was thinking for her.

    18. Yes. Her faceup was one of the reasons I impulsively brought her, but thankfully I haven't regretted it. <3

    19. My Bjd come without Faceup. Than i make a Faceup for her, but was ugly. In this reason i ask people for help me. Kevin make it for me and now is she nice ^^

    20. I got my first BJD with his company faceup! Company faceups add a bit to the price of the overall doll, but I wanted my first to be special, and that's why I bought him with his faceup. I'm not sure if I'll buy the succeeding ones with faceups, however.
