1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Did your FIRST doll come with a faceup?

Dec 16, 2013

    1. My first bjd has his face up made by his company because my favorite face up artist here is not making any custom now. I'm planing to buy my next bjd's without any makeup and do it by myself

    2. My first doll was done by a friend of mine at the time. He was beautiful for so many years, but after a while, he needed reenvisioning. I have pictures as he was and as I have him now. I enjoy both looks. I enjoyed what my friend created for me then, and now that my aesthetic has changed, I love what he looks like now. <3

    3. nope~ all of my dolls came in nude, i like the feeling of "its my doll, its unique"

    4. I got my first doll with a default face up as I wasn't confident on doing it myself.

    5. My first doll came with default face up as well. I was not trusting my own skills and although I have purchased most of my dolls without face up I used to commission other artists to do face ups for me. I was simply too scared of trying but now I've done my first face up so hoping that I can continue to improve

    6. I bought my first doll, Basil, second-hand, with a face-up from his current owner. I was relieved he came with a face-up, so I didn't have to try my hand at it myself. I might change it later, when I get more practice on a practice head so I won't feel bad having to wipe it off over and over until I'm happy with the look.

    7. My first doll came with the boy default face-up since I really loved it.

    8. For me the whole point of getting a doll is the process of creation it enables me to experience, thus... of course my first doll was completely blank :)

    9. My first (and so far only doll) was second hand, and I loved the face-up she already had. She even came with the perfect little loli dress ^.^

    10. Nope, she didn't, and I regret it. Haven't been able to bond D:

    11. I have to have all my dolls blank. ;)

    12. My first doll is on her way, in a completed set! I fell in love with her partially due to the lil' mole on her face up so ^^;

    13. My first doll was during a free head event, so I got one with a face-up and the other was sent off to a private artist for a face-up. As easy as face-ups are to remove, I personally try to get every doll with as much painting as I can because I like to see the original artistic vision for the doll and hopefully push the company to make more in that style in the future.

I like dolls that are ready-to-go out of the box. I don't like to wait for things.

    14. The first doll I bought came with a faceup, and I think it really suits his character. (He's a BBB Apollo that I ordered from the Junky Spot) I think it's better to get your first doll with a faceup just so you can jump right into taking photos and doing whatever, plus you wont have to get them, send them off, then wait even longer (unless you're doing it yourself).

    15. nope cuz i didnt like the switch face up for my Shu (shiho)

    16. Yeah I got mine with the default faceup because I was scared about sending her to an artist, I've never done it before. I knew I couldn't do one myself, and plus I didn't want to get her in and then have to send her back out to get a faceup and do even more waiting. So I enjoyed her default face for several months and I finally sent her to get customized :D

    17. My first doll did come with a face up, as I purchased her from a friend. Later on I ended up sending her head to get a new face up, which I'm really happy with! However, I did order my DF-H Langya blank, as I am going to have him as my Sebastian Michaelis doll. I am going to try and do the face up myself, and if it doesn't come out too good then I will send his head off to a friend to be painted~

    18. Yep! First one had one and he's had the same faceup for over 10 YEARS till this month when I finally found an artists I wanted to do him and his brother. They're first generation Dollzones so they're olllld boys!

    19. Yes, I got the default face-up for free, because of a event :) Because I was a newbie I was very glad about it, I'm pretty sure I ruined my doll, when I had to do it by myself :XD:

    20. i actually just ordered my first ever full doll, and because i want to do my own faceups, i got him blank :- D i dont think ill be worried about him coming without a face.
i do already have a secondhand floating head that came with a faceup so im not sure if that counts...
