1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DIKA Doll discussion

Jan 7, 2010

    1. I was having so much trouble with the headcap at first too! I thought it was the strongest magnet in the world, until... xD

I got my Lola early this year, but I've been away, so I wasn't able to do anything with her until now... and I just stayed up all night giving her a faceup! ^.^ (Bear with me, it's only my third time doing a faceup ._.)

She's in the pure white skin (which, by the way, matches very nicely with Bobobie/Resinsoul white... it's paper white!) and she's going to be an icy little snow rabbit ;)

    2. Oh, I love her faceup - you did a great job! She's nicely done and elegant, can't wait to see her fully dressed and wigged. : )

    3. Oh, thank you very much! :D I think that part will take a bit more time... dolly layaways eating up all the funds! xD

    4. It happens when the doll has very much long width eye socket^^b
I don't have Zura, but I have a Bluefairy Kyle who has the same problem...the official eye size is 14mm...but the eye socket width is long, and it's half close eyes, you can not put 14mm or 16mm glasses/acrylic eyes tight ...
finally, I use Soom silicon eyes 16mm. It's soft and flexible to fill the eye socket

    5. Sorry but this is me again :) I wonder if someone can tell me how flexible the female 1/3 body is? I mean... I have the body but it is my first doll and i wonder if all bodies feel the same. Would you say the dikadoll body is the most flexible one or is there a another one that is more flexible? I'm just unhappy with the sitting pose. Everytime i try to use the sitting pose, it looks like she can not really sit well. I thought the body of bjd doll is more smooth but maybe it is just a visual trick, because of the smooth look. For me the body is very "restive" :/

    6. I know someone has a Murong because I've seen some awesome pics, but does anyone have Batian? I am all about that face - he's great :D I want both those boys, & DikaDoll Lin as well :D

    7. here is some batian's pics

    8. Hi hi,

I was wondering what you guys thought of Dikadoll's 70cm guy bodies. I like two of their newer boys, but I'm really not sold on the body design. I'm more interested in hearing about the 3-joint torso than the 5-joint, but either is OK. It might end up being a moot point, since I'm considering a gray or tan boy, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

What do you think of the quality of the dolls in general?
How flexible are the 70cm bodies? Do they need a lot of work (sueding and wiring) to get them to hold poses or are they really solid right out of the box?
Do they come with sanded seams?

Anyone have a pic of one of the 70s with a 60cm girl? I'd like to see a comparison.

      Thanks in advance.

    9. I had a 3-joint 70 body(For my IOS doll), I think the quality is good. The body is a little bit slim and is easy tohold poses.
If you like Muscle body, you may not like Dika's 70cm body.

    10. Kymera - I posted this earlier, but here's what I think of the 3-piece torso posing:

"He is quite amusing to pose, and doesn't have the tendency to fall into 'girly' poses - my friend's AOD body does this all the time and it bothers me so!

The clicking is wonderful! Each piece has a few "clicks" forward and backwards, giving him a lovely range of motion. And to attest to their balance, I was showing my mother, and clicked him all the way over into a bowing position, both pieces clicked as far as they would go, and he stood like a rock with no supports. I was thoroughly impressed, and I'm disappointed in myself for not snapping a picture."

I found today that with shoes it's a little more here or there with posing, some shoes help, some kill the balance, as is usual.

At first, I thought the 3-piece torso was weird and would wonk out the posing ability, but since I got my boy in a trade I thought I would sell the Dikadoll body and buy a different company, but I absolutely love it now. The only thing I would have to complain about is that its very difficult to restring his arms, and most of the chest piece is solid so it's hard to maneuver the string inside it.

Quality wise, the resin is quite thick, and has a nice weight to it. The feel is very nice, not as 'toothy' as other companies. The detail, especially on the hands and abs, is quite nice. It also comes with nice thick elastic, not wimpy skinny stringing. And I can't find any seams on him, but if it was sanded, I can't tell where, which is good.

The only drawback aesthetically is that the body does tend to look lean, as the proportions are very long height wise. But I think that it works for my character, so I guess it depends on your preferences.

Hope that helps! And because he's finally complete, here's a (somewhat crappy) picture of Hayden, my Xue Hua:

    11. Does anyone have "70CM大叔【迟】"? http://www.dkdoll.com/productsen.asp?id=132 I can't read Chinese so I don't know what his name is. Their pictures aren't very helpful in telling what the doll looks like at different angles, let alone what he looks like beyond a face-shot. And there's no price. Is he sold out? I'd like to get better pictures of him. He's on ebay so I could buy him there if not directly from DK.

    12. Hi Fin...
left hand corner - select English button....
      I found this:
      http://www.dkdoll.com/productsen.asp?id=131

He appears to be called K77. He uses the 70cm body.

Also catas' news thread annocement has him listed as Chi:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...doll-Summer-Event-new-1-4-girl-Monica-Release!

      Hope this helps

    13. I'm curious, has anyone ordered the 70cm Autumn or Summer and have any owner photos to share? I am really taken with Autumn, but I'm still so torn on the body sculpt. I really wish the heads could be ordered separately.

    14. They might release the heads separately in the future. I haven't heard anything that says they won't be sold separately.

    15. I am glad that there is a thread of these beautiful dolls!! (I was sure there was one :) ) I am thinking of buying a 70 cm Senior Wu. I do not know if I should buy him with or without the body that has 5 parts in the chest. Or with the normal body (3 parts in the chest). Does annybody has that luxery problem too? I think I must go for the more parts. On the pictures(of their website) you see how they poses.

    16. I have the same problem. I have already a DikaDoll Girl. Now i decided to buy Autumn (not now but maybe later) with the 5 part body. But i think the more parts it has, the more you can pose your doll. I think the 30+ is worth.

    17. I think it is worth it. But I am not going to buy the jointed hands. So now I have to save.. Hope I can buy him for chistmas.

    18. My wife said she read somewhere he's called "Chi," but I'd like to see some full body pictures and can't find any. I was hoping someone here owned him, but I guess not! I might have to take a gamble. His expression is so angsty in their preview, though the doll without its faceup looks just sleepy. Oh, I'm just not sure..

    19. A lot of a character can be seen in face ups...they may have chosen that style of face up to show his versitility. If you were to purchase him you could request that face up. Just ask an agent that's what they are there for

You have a choice of two bodies:
      3-part torso body
      5-part torso body

They are more slender than others in the same height range. Similar with Dollzone 70cm bodies which means those are the clothes they can wear.

      Hope this helps

    20. My DikaDoll dealer told me that a custom face-up is not possible. ?
