I'm also getting a Hyde for my friend >3< He'll be her first doll, so I'm very apprehensive on her behalf. XD!

 

I'm not good with guessing games, either that or I just don't recognise who you're getting haha, well I'll see when he arrives! aw that's really nice of you, what body is she getting for him? ^^ for that matter, what body are you getting for yours?

I bought a DIM body for him last Friday f(^o^); I wasn't gunna, but in the end, the temptation was far too great. Hopefully he and Scara can come travelling with me next year.

It's taken me about a month to even persuade her to buy him a wig, let alone a body XD!! Hopefully, she'll get him a DIM bod eventually, but I think she's arranged to come home from uni for reading week in the hope that she can borrow one of mine, so who knows! xP

 

I think Kyo would be “offended” since “doll” = “cute”!!!! HAH!
But I agree with’cha! I think everyone in the band may be flattered!! (but for some reason I think kyo may be creeped out—I don’t know). Unless you cover him in fake vomit! Then the doll wont be “cute” anymore! It will be an action figure!! HAH!

KeikoChan: How did she get backstage passes? I would just die for that opportunity! I am trying to wiggle my way in because someone I work with, sister is Korn PR and maybe she could get me backstage passes when they are in the states!! YAY!

 

she lives in new york... Die knows her by face I think due to she's been to so many of their concerts, damn. I gotta move to new york... lol He's always taunting specifically her when he spots her in the audience. like last concert, this deftones tour, He PERSONALLY handed her his pick. O_o she's got Shinya's drum sticks as well from another time... and about 5 other picks she's snagged.

 

has anyone heard back frim denny regarding mods reqested from the september previews yet? i haven't and i don't want to pester.

 

I did -- he just said they were noted and thanks, and would send notice when it's done. I assume that means the mods? You do get another look at them, right??

 

Since my minimee heads will be arriving home soon, I have ordered some bodies from different doll companies.
What doesn't match will get sold as the complete doll. What does match, the heads will get sold.
They are:
Domuya Flexi Perennial body.
Aoi Tuki body (the one with the shapely bum)
Limwha Half Elf
Supia normal skin urethane.
The match depends on the size of the minimee heads as well as skin tone.
I like my dolls to be in correct proportion: no bobble heads, no pin heads either.
I love my Flexi Perrenial body but I'm hearing that the skin tone is not a good match. Maybe the body can be blushed to match however.
The Limwha body is awesome! She poses nicely and has killer curves.
The Aoi-Tuki body is coming in this week.
Supia won't be here until November.
Anyway, for those of you who who'll be looking for a good body match;
I'll have several to compare and I'll post my findings with pics.

Yay! Thanks so much Steph! That will be very helpful to me. I don't think anyone else has done major comparisons with the female body options for the minimee. I'm hoping the Supia Normal skin urethane will be a good match, because that is the body I would like to go with for my Minimee.

are you guys who have celeb MiniMees (esp jrock ones) gonna make their outfits from different images? I'm having a hell of a time getting suitable clothes for Meevers.

Domuya NS is a lot darker than MiniMee resin... but someone did blush their head to match an NS Domuya flexi-body, so it isn't impossible~

 

No, I'm not going to. I might recreate one or two, but .. I think I have more fun imagining what they'd be like offstage than on, you know? What Hyde is like behind the doors of his home. What kind stuff they wear when they're not up preforming ... all though Kyo will still have crazy hair and two different coloured eyes, because Kyo just isn't Kyo without a little crazy. (My favourite images are always those of him with no makeup, hair flat, and in a Purdue basketball tshirt. He's got that 'my mommy abandoned me at the airport' look to him that is just WAY too endearing...)

 

I'm making a custom wig for hide. It's going to be hell. XD Mainly because I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm sure it'll be fun anyway. The most important for me right now is to get the right wig(s) for him. After that, I'm gunna get some basic -esque stuff, and then work from there. Not terribly exciting, but I'm having fun, and a lot of my friends have offered to help, so I'm confident he'll look pretty cool no matter what

I don't think I'll give them stage outfits cause they are just too difficult to make, and my sewing abilities are far from okay XD
And I do NOT want to know what it would cost me if I would commission a Macabre Kaoru/Die/Toshiya outfit @_@

I AM thinking about ordering some custom wigs for my boys [like pink/black and purple/black for Kaoru, red wigs for Die, Sakito, Uruha, etcetc...]
I will make Aoi's wig myself ^_^

With Kyo, I definitely want to recreate some of his outfits and looks ^^ I'd like to 'redo' a few photoshoots.. XD But, of course, I'd like to get some clothes for him that fits his personality but come from my own mind :3

*o* I loved Kaoru's purple hair.. His cornrows were the BEST!

 

When I get my celebrity minimee heads and get them on the bodies that match I am going to have two dolls of the same celebrity.
First I am going to sew a dress for my actress from a film she starred in (Tess of the D'Urbervilles). I already have all her Victorian undergarments made....
...and then the other doll will be a modern day Nastassja. Since Nastassja Kinski was very popular in the '80's I'm going to dress her in '80's fashions....
We'll see but this waiting is KILLING ME.....

Psyence: Tess is my favorite movie that Nastassja's in although it is somewhat depressing.
Nastassja was incredibly gorgeous in that and very young, about 20 or so.
Roman Polanski had a fling with her (he was the director whose wife, Sharon Tate, was murdered by the Charles Manson's groupies when she was 8 months pregnant. In fact, he dedicated the movie 'Tess' to her.)
Anyway, the everyone's minimees are going to be so cool when we see them all finished.
