      If you see the preview pictures that has resin already covered, this is the base of the minimee that we use all the time in order to keep the size of the head and neck hole.
      Some of people may be wondering about it so I wanted to let you guys know about it.

      [Minimee rules]
      I do not know how long I can keep this project.
      As you know, this is very hard work both my team and me as well.
      I receive hundres of e-mails every day, not ordering e-mails.
      Many requesting e-mails. I am trying my best to reply A.S.A.P
      but sometimes, I receive complain e-mails as well due to delay on preview or additional pictures.
      Here is the thing, I do not have sculpts in my hands until the orders are casted and shipped to me.
      Although my team work hard, sometimes pictures are delayed.
      My team is working not only minimee project but also doing action figure works mainly for a living.

      A few days ago, I received e-mail from American Sculptor that he was wondering how we sold that cheap for making a sculpt.
      He said, he gets at least 2,000$ per sculpt regardless of its size.
      As you see, this is true, in Korea a talented sculpt gets at least 2,000~ 5,000$ per sculpt of BJD.
      We are not making a fortune for this minimee project.
      I only receive between 10 to 20 minmee orders monthly which is not enough to keep my team.
      But my team and I are trying to keep this project and they also love to here the good words on their work.

      Rarely, I need to do some kinds of promotion in order to promote this project in different market in the world.
      Today, I started an event for extra head as you see above,
      I will do special event in different market for promotion.

      The basic rule is still same. But to promote this in other country, I need to do a kind of marketing to get it spread.
      So I hope people here do not upset about my specail event in different market which wouln't do often at all.(maybe once a year ?)

      *And I want to clear this in public.

      We do not use any of previous sculpts to create new minimees.
      All minimee orders are done based on pictures and drawings.
      However, it is inevitable that there are requests that I receive for special requirements if they like any of previous image of minimees.

      If this request is based on character, which is more likely BJD style, the looking will be very similiar. This has to be as people are using the same images and photos.

      I want to clear that this isn't a copy of the previous sculpt at all, I don't need to do that.
      Minimee based on human turn out differently although they use the same images, but the character is different, there isn't very much expression like human, so most of character will turn out very similiar as same artist makes the one.

      Do I need to change the policy ? not to take minimee orders(Character only) that already made ?
      If I did it, the monthly minimee order would be reduced and this project wouln't last long for sure.
      Last October, I got 12 orders total, other months were like 15 ~ 20 something.
      Most of fund that I receive is used for making minimee for labor force.
      Extra head gives me some margin for my work.

      What do you think ?

      I will listen any opinions from people here and reconsider things.

      I hope I could continue this project long...but I am not very sure if I get much stress from it.
      new dim models are about to launch and I have a very big exhibition coming in Seoul in December.
      some People are getting impatient and requesting more and want 100&#37; for their minimee.

      I do hope you can keep this going, Denny. I love seeing everybody's heads and have several more I'd like to get made myself. And I see more and more people becoming interested in the whole concept.

      I'm really excited about mine and I can't wait for him to get here so I can show him off.

    13. Thanks for making this clear, Denny. I can understand that there are not so many minimee orders monthly, without a group order it&#180;s very expensive to afford, almost like a complete BJD. The price is justified of course, it&#180;s just money that people cannot just shake out of their sleeves ^^

      I think when people know how you work, and that you don&#180;t earn much with the project, that it&#180;s more the fulfillment of a dream, hopefully things will be handled differently, like impatience, wish for perfection and such. I for once am glad you explained how you work, I can understand the waiting times much better now.

      So, thanks again :)

      I'm definatly putting in an order for an extra head off the one I'm having done. Angelgauedian had a good idea, so I might try my hand at it too~

      Does someone have a BP and a JD head so that they can take photo's together. I swear my JD looks like a BP!

      Also for Oricale's question...can some one order a redo on the head I commissioned without my okay? Not to be a money hog, but that would suck, because I didn't do a group order and paid a lot for just four heads to be made from the mold.

    16. Denny, I think the way you are doing it is very fair. The person who orders a new sculpt bears the brunt of the cost, however, if someone else wants to order a new sculpt of the same celebrity, I think that would be fair. I hope you're able to continue the project, you and your team are doing a wonderful job. And thanks for the special head offer!

    17. I think you should be able to resculpt characters that have already been made before. It is not as if the people requesting it own the characters*, after all, and you need to be able to survive. If the Minimee project goes away, everyone suffers. That is good for nobody. Maybe if people wanted a character to be dis-allowed to be remade, they could pay more?

      *(I know there are exceptions, like the amazing Guide doll, but they are not as common in comparison. The case where the commissioning person owns the character is different.)

      Anyways, I LOVE the JD head :D:D:D. Although it may be difficult without make-up... I can totally see that it is JD... he really resembles edward to me ;) great head... I hope I can get my hands on one somehow ;_;...

    19. Hi ^^ It's about the character (Animation and Video Games) not about celebrity.

      As I explained, the pictures that I receive for those characters are same.
      Without special requirements(Elf ear etc on), they look very likely similiar.
      It can cause the coping issue that is not true.

      So I want to hear opinions.

      1. characters based on Animation and Video Games shouldn't be taken for reorder.

      2. It doesn't really matter

      I will listen and decide things what people want although I get less orders.

    20. I think recasts should be at the discretion of the person who placed the original order - after all, it's only polite to ask them - you might make a new friend in the process ;)

      That said, however, I think the way things are being done currently is good. Certainly a lot of the Celebrity minimees - not everybody sees people in the same way (if that makes sense); and perhaps certain angles/expressions represent that person better to them - so one person might prefer a scowling face, and another may prefer a smile. So while the character is the same, the sculpt will always be different and unique to itself. :3 (It's also an opportunity for trades! XD) The same can be said for the videogame/cartoon characters, I think - although obviously their range of expressions tends to be less.
