1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Dec 26, 2006

    1. He is making SD sized heads. You get to choose either MSD or SD size.

    2. Bumping this up. Any updates or news about the Minimee?

    3. Yes, I would like to know too. Anything new? I wonder how my Minimee is coming along.

    4. I'd love to know too! Cheshiretiffy, have you heard anything about your sample head?

    5. *bumping* has anyone seen their heads work-in-progress yet?

    6. The due date for the heads is mid to late April. I'm #5 on the To Do list and I get the impression its going to be awhile before I see any progress pictures. But maybe #1 will start seeing something soon?

    7. There have been multiple updates and photos posted by Denny in this thread about my MiniMee (#1). I don't know if anything's happened to those posts or not, as I'm not on the computer much these days for medical reasons.

Please be patient with Denny, he wanted to fix some sculpting/structural errors before sending her off to me.

    8. Thank you for all who are waiting for minimee.
the minimee works are being done in turn with orders.
I started taking orders from 13th.Feb and it would be taken 50-60days.
I hope the works are done by about Mid.April.
there will be some delay for custoemrs who sent their photos later.
Anyway, we are working on hard and send some preview photos individually whenever the minimee is finished.
      thanks

      Denny

    9. Wasn't that the big thing with the "My Child" Dolls in the 80's? I think they were supposed to look like the doll owner. And I have heard of companies here in the US that will make a doll of you if you send them a picture. It's actually pretty popular here. :)

    10. Oh~ I would so very much like to jump on this offer~

      I have *looks in piggy bank* $150CA right now ^-^;;;;;;;;;

    11. ah...I think it is more like a curse tool....somehow. but still interesting, how much will be charged for that?

    12. Cool, thanks for the info Denny. I'm in no rush so I don't really mind if I'm one of the last to receive their MiniMees. I would like to be able to bring home a body before they arrive, so they won't be floatin heads :)

    13. I managed to find a brand new body, so no floating heads! Instead of using my name, I decided to give the MiniMee my Chinese name- that I just recently discovered, I don't think my mom will mind. :sweat

    14. Thank you for the update, Denny! I can't wait until mid April - I'm so excited to see my doll. Guess that gives me plenty of time to figure out my name also.

    15. A way for us to get exactly what we want? What customer wouldn't like that?^^ It sounds good to me, as long as the choices were vast.

    16. I have been pondering whether or not people think of their dolls (either consciously or subconsciously) as idealised versions of themselves and I think in some cases they do. I know one of the reasons I want a BJD is because I miss the dressing up I used to do as a teenager and I want to experience it again by dressing up my doll. For those reasons I think your idea will be popular. I personally wouldn't want a doll that looks like me but I'm sure some people certainly would.

    17. Denny has given me permission to share the results of my Minimee! I love her! I am amazed at how she turned out and it will be fun to see her when she gets faceup, eyes and a wig!

I chose the 80% realistic option.

I posted a pic of me (which is rare) as a comparison.

What do you think? Will my mom like her? :sweat

    18. It looks fantastic! It really looks like you!

I also got an email from Denny. In fact...I think my head is the grey one laying in the background of your pictures. O.O

I really, really, really love the job they did on my head. I'm not brave enough to post my full pictures, though. I absolutely can't wait to get my head! I'm so excited! :-D

    19. Wow! Nice to see pics of a realistic mini-me, and it really looks just like you!

    20. Oh man, how exciting!
