1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Dec 26, 2006

    1. I just love how they're all so different! I'd wondered if there would be sort of a cookie cutter look to them, maybe just eyes, noses and lips tweaked but it turns out that each one is totally unique down to the bone structure. What talented sculptors and a fantastic project.

I hope everyone posts their pix. These babies are works of art!

    2. Wow those sculpts are amazing!! :D The artist did a fantastic job of recreating pics/drawings.

I can't wait to see when everyone receives their heads and the faceups.

I hope to get one made of my daughter and my late mom in the near future :)

    3. I ordered one of my son ... he's 16. This is one of the twelve reference photos I sent to Denny:

And these are the photos Denny sent to me last night:

To say I'm pleased, amazed, wow-ed, blown away ... well, that's major understatement.

And now it's off for casting. Whee!

      Lisa

    4. That is amazing and your son is gorgeous by the way XD!

    5. Ahhh!!! These all look soooo good! I want one of my baby brother! *starts saving pennies*

(this was pointless, I just wanted to subscribe to this thread so I can see the progress pics, lol)

    6. Wow....been so out of the loop when it comes to BJD lately, so I only found out about this recently. What an awesome idea! Damn, if I had the money I'd definitely do this for a character of mine. The MiniMee looks really fabulous so far. :)

    7. very close to your son the only thing would say is that your sons eyes are rounder and not as wide across as the head. Beautiful sculpt.

    8. Ha ha ha ha - did you see a picture of me? Ironically enough, those were the things I asked Denny to take out of my minimee! (I broke my nose when I was a kid - have a crooked bump now ... and a bit of a double chin.)

    9. I think that's where the BJD style comes in. If it was too the same I'm not sure the dolls would fit with other BJDs. Sorry if that makes no sense, I'm no good at explaining whaat I mean.

    10. The larger eyes are what make them more doll-like, as opposed to true-to-life figurines/sculptures, amirite babytarragon?

      btw, almost everyone's heads are grey? O.o Is that the primer? My head is a sort of yellowy-NS resin/clay tone, but not as smooth as all of yours. I suppose it hasn't been sanded and 'finished' yet, because I sent in my reference photos kind of late ^^;;

    11. The grey heads are clay masters that the molds will be made from when they're ready.

Your yellowy head may be a cast that needed modification to be just right. It'll get recast once its complete.

    12. Oh, well that's odd, if mine has indeed been cast already. Aside from my sending out the photos late, I could've sworn I've seen some grey heads with yellowy patches below in certain areas. Perhaps you're right though, because I have no real idea of the sculpting/casting process ^^

    13. Well just bare in mind that cheshiretiffy's was a beautiful NS resin colour when we saw the first face up..

    14. Thank you all of you to say kind comments.
I am so happy to hear that.

Please see the below link to explain everything about this project.
the first order for minimee project is now completed.
and I think there is something that needs to be changed regarding the minimee order. so ^^ please see this thread if you are interested in having your minimee in the future.

    15. Denny, these are all just so incredible. I was thrilled when you sent me the pictures of Zach, but seeing all the sculpt images ... it's wonderful. You certainly have selected some amazing, sensitive, talented sculptors to work with, and each of the heads so far captures the essence of the person in a way that is so appealing!

Thank you so much for offering us this opportunity. You definitely have got us laughing and smiling here! (And I think my honourary daughter will be up for a sculpt in Round Two!!)

      Lisa

P.S. CalfLove: I showed Zach your comment ... he says you're his heroine and he's madly in love with you. ;)

    16. Oh My God ~
You are so kind !!! Thank you millions much !!! ^^

    17. Seriously Denny, this project is unbelievable! Now I only wish I had ordered two heads at the promotional price, seeing the sculptors work makes me have alot of faith in this project, and I would love to get another one.

    18. FairEmma - your boy (both of them!) are gorgeous! Your son is very handsome (He has a cute smile!) and the minimee matches him perfectly I think!

Steph - she's so you! She's going to make such a beautiful BJD, pefect for your collection of stunning girls.

I can't wait to see these as finished products with wigs and faceups etc!

    19. I'm so tempted to order another MiniMee! :sweat This has been the most interesting BJD project ever! I can't wait to see my finished head. :love

    20. Eeeee shipping notice!

That definately made my day :D

Well, will be shipped Monday, but still.
