1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Dec 26, 2006

    1. Yeah.. my SD-sized head has quite small features. I'm hoping it'll look okay on the body I have ordered. It sort of relates more to my SD16 girl heads in terms of proportion. It looks really odd compared to more 'standard' shaped heads like Luts heads.

    2. I'm a bit distressed, but I'm trying not to freak out until I get home and actually try it on a body and next to my other dolls. Already, though, I'm thinking I'm going to have to sell my Kiss because his head is going to look like a pumpkin next to this. :(

    3. Well tbh, although the features are smaller, my girl doesn't seem odd with my other resins, ( if that helps).

    4. Does the website not work anymore? Are orders still open?

    5. I'm sure once it's wearing a wig and all that, it'll look great Armeleia! I wouldn't worry about everyone matching perfectly. It'll probably work out just fine =]

My goal has always been to have a bunch of vastly different styles, because I think they're all so individually interesting and artistic.

    6. Hello. Aimee,

I am sorry, we have tried to make the head bigger for you.
But our sculptor simply couldn't do make it bigger because of no experience at all.(even I don't have any bigger doll)
the second minimee orders will be a little bit bigger than the first minimee.

      Anyway, sorry about it.

    7. At the worst, the smaller head size will probably be more proportionate to the body instead of bobble headed like most of them seem to be.

My MiniMee's little head doesn't make her stand out from my oldskin Volks (and you know how big-headed THOSE are). The fact that the only other mini I have is a Unoa might make a difference, though.

The detail in her face makes her look very old compared to them, but the size of her head isn't a problem. It actually fits her body.

    8. ^_^ I'm so excited to see how Yoshiki comes out! <3

    9. I got the minimee head of my son today!!!! No faceup yet but I posted some pictures here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1857031#post1857031

The head is slightly smaller than what I was expecting but it's ok because it's still proportional to a Volks MSD boy body (slightly odd-looking on a long-legged body but I'm happy with how it looks on a normal body). The resin doesn't match Volks but Denny already told me that it wouldn't. I'll just have to do some pretty clever blushing to make them match. :)

But overall, I'm so blown away by the sculpt! Even without a face-up, I can already see the resemblance to my son. Thank you so much for starting this project Denny!!

    10. My minimee arrived today :D

She doesn't really look like my daughter, but maybe I have to modify the face-up.
This is my first face-up, so it's not perfect ;)

      here she is:

your daughter is gorgeous, and her minimee understandably so!!!!! <3

    13. Oh dear, is the head really that small? *stress* I was hoping to get a hound sort of body for him, because he's supposed to be taller than the rest of my crew.

      I won't even get to check till a month later, since I'm out of the country ;_;

    14. Hound has a small head compared to most 60cm males as it is. I don't think it would be a problem.

    15. I'm hoping to get a Hound body for my guy too, but if the heads are about 9 inches, it should be fine (that's the size of a Hound head according to eluts.com).

    16. Just waiting for my eyelashes! Unfortunately, I don't have a pair of eyes for her, but I think I might be able to steal my roomies nasia defaults until I can get her some nice urethane eyes.

The head is a little small (especially next to my elf chiwoo! I was doing a faceup on both of them), but I think it'll just look more realistic.. which was probably the point of me ordering the 80%.

    17. Unfortunately, the head I got is too small. But Denny said that they will work with me to fix it. DIM has very good customer service and Denny is very sweet and helpful, so I'm sure that this will work out well. And with the experience of fixing this head, the sculptors will know more about sizing for future 60cm male heads. Denny already said that future MiniMee will be bigger, so people ordering now shouldn't have to worry.

I think part of the problem is that these sculptors are used to working on action figures and aren't used to the usual big-headed BJD proportions. The head I got is longer and slimmer, and I think it would work on a Hound body if I enlarged the neckhole quite a bit (so Blackpaperbag, you might not have a problem at all!). If I didn't have any other dolls, I don't think it would have been so much of a big deal - with this head, he looks more like a normally proportioned person. But unfortunately, he's really out of proportion with my other dolls.

    18. Thanks for the reassurances guys. I feel slightly less worried now, guess I'll just have to wait to get home to find out.

I don't mind if he's proportioned more like the Latis... with smaller eyes and head, since he's modelled after a real person anyway.

    19. I took some photos of my freshly painted MiniMee head. Not the best pictures in the world, but they show the skill of the sculpting, I think. Please bear in mind these are NOT her 'proper' eyes, she has no upper eyelashes, and I'm waiting for her body.
