1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Dec 26, 2006

    1. Oh my gosh!

MJ as a BJD! in his earlier days I'm guessing?

    2. Annika- he's wonderful! ^_^ They've done a great job on his jaw-line and nose!

    3. Babytarragon - Actually, I plan to make him around 40, but he does look very young without make-up. ^^

Guide - Hehe, thanks! I really love him, I just need the eyes to be changed a teeny bit. ^^

    4. yeah- I see waht you mean with the eyes. :sweat

But isn;t it amazing how different dolls look without make-up? ;) But you have an amazing base to work from there!

    5. Oh... it's all right Denny, it's not a big problem and I understand, I was just wondering that's all ^_^ Thanks!

    6. I feel bad. Mine's stuck here where I have no desire to photograph her. I'm rather round and heavy now and STILL on bedrest, I just don't feel up to playing with my dolls.

All of the MiniMee that have been posted lately are really beautiful! I'm enjoying seeing how the sculptor interprets the drawings and photos that have been sent in and I'm ecstatic that so many people are getting the chance to have their dream dolls.

So, even though I'm not participating much these days, keep posting photos! They're brightening my day.

    7. Yes, that is a scar over his face.

And wow, Annika! That's pretty awesome- what made you decide to get MJ??

    8. I've always loved MJ's face and music, and I've been using him as a character since I was about 8 (at which time I had no idea what his personality was really like, so I just made one up, which turned out to be waaaay off - so he's pretty warped like that :sweat ). I don't know why, I've just always adored him, so I thought it would be neat to give him a resin doll shell. I plan to turn him into "my" Michael, not the real life MJ. ^^

BTW, I love your boy! His eye-shape is amazing! :aheartbea

    9. WOW - That is SO awesome! I like him even better than your other one! What a sweetheart. I think they're look fantastic together.

    10. Thanks! I love him too, hes one of my favorite characters in my new comic, so I'm super psyched I was able to get him as a minimee (as you can see, it would be very hard to get him as a doll otherwise XD).

I can't wait until I can get all my dolls together for a portrait. Soon!

    11. Thanks! That's really cool.

I have to say, I loved Michael Jackson as a kid. I listened to his Thriller record so many times I scratched it and mom had to buy me a new one. I always wanted to learn the thriller dance.

    12. He is fab, dechanique. And I love how your girl came out with her face-up ;)

      You must be really pleased^^

I am still having serious Minimee dithering...who to have done etc! I haven't quite got enough $$ and am having a jolly hard time making my mind up :doh

    13. Michael Jackson, awesome. :)

    14. Thanks! :) I did yours and mine at the same time and I'm really happy how they both came out!

Annika: What kind of makeup are you putting on him?

    15. Dechanique: I'm planning to give him a natural look with an urban gothic slant - Black eyebrows and lashes, a bit of brownish blushing around the eyes and natural "nude" lips, unglossed, with really detailed liplines.

I'm thinking of making the other head into a demon, with horns and wings and things. :)

    16. THRILLER STYLE.

      Thrillleeerrr.. thriller night! ::werewofldance::

I can't WAIT to see it Annika, that's really awesome.

    17. Sillypeach, he's adorable! I love his pretty mouth! :D

    18. Sillypeach, he's really unique looking! I like that his eyes are wider spaced.... is his mouth open all the way through? He's really neat and I can't wait to see him painted!

My revised heads have been delivered to my house... I want to go home!!! :XD:

    19. wow that actually brought a tear to my eye I think thats a first. Its the idea that you created a character and clearly they put so much into bringing it to life. I think its very touching to me to see all these dreams coming true. Especially this one I find the character touching being so tough and clearly hurt at some point.

I am going to give this opportunity some real thought to maybe order soon. The only thing stopping me is not being sure what the resin color matches to and the size of the head. It would be nice to be able to request a unoa size head or a volks msd size for instance.

** What are the heads sculpted from? I would love to read more about the process.
