Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Wow, thank you treelore! You almost brought a tear to my eye!

I'm incredibly impressed with the work of these sculptors, and so pleased to have this service. My dolls are all characters from a wartime steampunk comic I'm working on, most of the male characters are in some way physically injured/deformed by the war that has been waging for centuries.

I can't express my joy nearly well enough to reflect how I actually feel.


I remember reading on this thread that the smaller minimee is closer to unoa size than msd size. I don't remember if that person posted a comparison though, but i know the doll wore 6/7 wig.

 

I got my revised heads and they're beautiful.


The one on the left is the first version. It was very small, so Denny had his sculptors modify it to enlarge it. (I also asked them to make the eyes a bit further apart). It's really gorgeous... it's perfect and looks even more like my drawing this time. I love his big nose and his chin. I'm so happy with them!

 

I finally had time to try out my minimee head on different bodies, and I was surprised to find that his head looked too BIG (actually, it doesn't look big as in round/bobble-headed, but it is rather large overall since I had trouble fitting on one of my 9-10 inch wigs) o.O I was expecting it to be too small, but on my DOT body it looks disproportionate, and don't even get me started on the 60cm body match...

I'm quite pleased about that though, since he was supposed to be my tallest doll, and also I'd rather him be bigger than smaller. Now I'm just trying to find a body for him, I'm considering the new Feeple male body, I love the lanky skinny look but I'm worried the shoulders might not be broad enough. That, and of course the resin match.

Anyone have any suggestions for resin matches? His resin is quite pale (good for me), less pink than DOT resin and only a shade darker than dolkot white. Soom Sabik body? Dollmore Model doll?

I'm going to do a faceup on him in the next few days *rubs hands gleefully*

 

I'm going to put mine on a Senior delf body... from the resin comparisons I've seen, it looks like it'll match pretty well. It's lighter than Volks pureskin... but it's sort of the same tone. I can't wait for the bodies to get here!

 

Any comparisons to a Delf head? I would like to see how large they are disproportionately.

 

I think my head might be a little bit bigger than average. It perfect, though, for what I want.

If I have time (and decent lighting, it's supposed to rain), I'll try to take some comparison pics.

 

I'd much appreciate it.

has anyone tried any of the girl heads from the second batch on a volks sd13 girl body? (or are they not out yet?)

 

He doesn't look as big as I thought, that's pretty awesome. ^^

 

I second the motion for volks, though I'm leaning more to the Sd-16 boy side. :P

 

I got my heads today too, I'll have to wait a few days to paint them, and I'm going to wait for the minimee bodies to come out, most likely. I want a good match.
And I want to say to Denny and his sculptors, these are the most amazing sculpts I've ever seen! They came out perfect, and I love the magnets in the skull cap. I don't see any flaws, he looks soooo beautiful. It was so nice of you to do such a unique and difficult project for all of us! Thank you again for all your hard work!

 

thank you luckymirai there's another one in the works when the faceup artist I have in mind is free. YOUR minimee is amazing, he's so masculine and the slight frown lines are really cool.

My heads came in today!!!

The color to the pureskin SD10 body is a very good match. Although, the head doesn't seem right with the body since my head looks 'older' than the 10 year old girl body.

What other girl bodies do you all recommend?

 

AnimeDoll: How large are your heads? How about the SD13 body? *knows nothing about volks*

 

I'm loving all of these new heads. I can't wait to see them on their own bodies.

 

Hmmm, I haven't seen a SD13 girl body yet so I can't say for sure. The part that bugs me most are the hands. SD10 girl hands are too childlike! I want to post pics...but I haven't gotten my outfit yet that I planned for Lai Fa, nor does she have eyelashes.

 

Wow, seeing everybodys beautiful dolls has made me interested

For how long will Denny continue to take orders? I would need to make some very detailed drawings of my 'dream doll - and being the hopeless perfectionist i am, that could take a while!!!

 

I just have to say that all the dolls I have seen here so far have been AMAZING, this project is fantastic, every doll is so unique. I absolutely love them.
