1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Dec 26, 2006

    1. Do you have any tool such as hand drill ?
Small knife ? The resin is not very hard, the groove can be done easily.
Perhaps you need to use small tools. I don't know how to say.
To me, it's very easy...but if you are not familiar with this. Maybe it's difficult.
I normally use a small hand drill(Automatic) that has many different tolls. It's a like grind tool.
I wish I can help you.

    2. Volksusa.com sells these parts that go in the head and have a grove maybe just order one of them?

    3. My Dremel Will fit into my MiniMee head. If you need someone to make a groove for you, Kurosakura, I can do it.

    4. Thanks everyone. I'd really prefer not to send off my girl's head. So maybe I'll look into buying a small dremel for myself. ^_^ I think I can understand the type of tool I need, like a sanding disk on a drill bit.

    5. I am going to try using my cera-canna (ceramic knife for modifying resin) to make the groove, I think that will be fairly easy.

Edit: Meh, I used a dremel with a cutting disk instead, then cleaned up with the ceramic knife.

    6. Twig, what is a cera-canna?^^

    7. Let me make a couple of suggestions, then. Forgive the crud, I've not wanted to puff up the resin dust by cleaning them since I'm pregnant.

I highly suggest a bit like this spherical one:

I don't remember what its called, but its a diamond something something. About $5. Its perfect for making s-hook grooves, just make sure to get the right size. I got this one at a train/model/hobby shop.

If you can't find that, you might try one like this:

Also a diamond something. I don't remember. Also about $5 and from the hobby shop. Not as easy to control for this kind of application, though.

Neither of those are Dremel brand bits, but they work fine with a standard Dremel.

And the Dremel Minimite (currently housing a veeery tiny version of the spherical bit):

Is rather inexpensive at around $20, runs slower than the black one pictured above so is better for detail work and nervous modders and comes with a rechargable battery. I got mine at Wal-Mart.

    8. Thank you !!! cheshiretiffy !

YES, This kind of tools that I was tring to explain.
I am using this kind of tool ~

    9. Annika, my Bowie head is bigger than my girl Dollfie Dream head, but I'm not sure how it would compare to an SD boy. I've got a boy on order, but he's not here yet. But I'd say he looks pretty good next to my DOD. It'll probably look even better once he has a body. ^_~

    10. I used doughnut rings in mine,( can make them out of sculpy/Fimo).

    11. Hi Denny!

Could you tell me if my Minimee was part of the April order or the May order?

      Thanks

      -Guide-

    12. Please PM me ~ I need your full name.
If you received preview, it's April order.

      Thanks

      Denny

    13. Then it;s April- I ahve recieved my preview. :) Thanks!

    14. Hi Denny,

I'm curious to hear how the bodies are coming along? I remember you said you might have something to show us soon. ^^ *excited*

    15. Oh ~ at the moment, the body(I mentioned before) is being modified for its neck hole.
At the same time, the second body(63~64cm high including head) will be soon out for its sample.
Everything is going well and I can say soon or later, I can offer minimee bodies.

      Thanks ^^

P.S : In the future, We will offer some more colors for customers.
Tanned color and the white one. We are testing and it will be taken a month.
So if you have your minimee, don't forget you can have another one anytime with your original mold that I keep in the factory.

      Thanks ~

    16. Oh what wonderful news to hear that you will be offering different skin colours in the future!!! :D

Denny, this MiniMe project is really awesome and unique - thank you for offering it!

    17. The Luts neck peices work great, too. I've been using them in all of my dolls.

    18. How exciting! I really want my cleft-chin boy in tan! :O I take it the bodies will be offered in the matching colors as well?

    19. That's great news. I'm hesitant to order any more than the initial two heads before I see how they come out, and what the skin tone is like (I'm hoping it'll be similar to the Angelina heads that match the Dollmore resin).

But if they're good, there's a good chance I'll get a couple more heads, and it's possible that non-bjd people I know will also want one when they see who it's of! ;)

    20. I have been during doll sketchings all day since i found out that the MiniMe will be offered in white skin tone in the future...wee!! :) I just hope it will be allright to get a MiniMe done that's less realistic and more 'doll-like' looking...uhmm.
