Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Mine was ordered 45% realistic, but if you ask me, I'd say she's closer to 60% Next to my other dolls, she looks like a short old woman XD (she's MSD size).

The most notable difference is the size of her eyes and the shape of her head. Her face isn't nearly as long as mine.




If you're wanting a doll made off of photos of a real person, but that looks more doll-like, you can try photo-manipulating the pics to give the sculptor a better idea of what you're looking for.

 

Thanks for posting the close-up photo, cheshiretiffy! Your girl is really beautiful, and manages to look like you AND a BJD.. @__@ I'm relieved! Now I feel a lot more confident about ordering a BJD-style minimee.

 

Just remember that when you order a Celeb, they will only make him/her in 80%

Sabriell: Well on the site they say that a celebrity minimee will be "Maximum 80%" - it doesn't mention a minimum. When you order, do they tell you then that you CAN'T have a BJD-style celeb?

 

Kazzii - no, no, you can order anything UP TO 80%. My boy was given the vague specification of 60-70%, although I think he still strongly resembles the celeb I chose.

Kurosakura, Bunnydots - the normal skin Iplehouse is a pretty damn close match to the minimee resin. I've got my minimee on the Iple Buff body and I'm really pleased with it. ^_^

 

I sent my minimee heads off to Lunesque to be painted as twins.
I just got some pictures of them back from her, and they look amazing!

I didn't ask for a percentage of realism, I just asked for them to be pretty close to my drawings, which they are!

Good to hear. My Iple Buff body is shipping and should be here by end of the week. I really hope it fits because it's the closest one to the person's actual build.

Denny, have you done any adult realistic-style heads in MSD size? I think I read that the early heads came out sort of Unoa-size but is that still an option? I have a friend who's very interested but he wants a smaller doll than 60 or 70cms.

 

I just went to order my minimee, but suddenly the site says sold out. I went through the motions of ordering only a couple of days go. When did this happen?

Oh please don't say they're not taking orders now T__T I just got up the guts! If I have to wait again, I'll chicken out (which would be best for my bank balance, but.. Noo!)
