Dim Minimee Update & Talk Part 1

Here are the pictures I took showing the head vs. body size and the resin match. As usual, I apologize for the quality of the photos. I am not a photographer and the light in this place is pretty bad, so I did have to use the flash. But I think these will show you what you need to know regardless. I tried to get a closeup shot of the resin match but that was just hopeless.

The first picture is the Minimee head on the Iplehouse Buff body with no wig on. As you can see, the head is very slightly too big for the body and at this angle the neck might be a little long-looking. Also, this picture shows how the Minimee resin is slightly whiter than the Iplehouse Buff body. I've heard that the Iple bodies color can vary a little batch to batch, so not sure if all Iple bodies are the same shade. This is close enough that the head could be blushed to a decent match. I had planned to blush the head anyway because normal people aren't as white as this head came out, so that's not a big deal.



I put a wig on for the second picture to show how the wig hides the largeness of the head. This is a Volks wig for I think an SD-16. It just barely fit on the Minimee head. The first SD size wig I tried, a Kstarr, would not fit at all on this guy's noggin. So for now you may want to wait till you get your heads and then commission them wigs to make sure they will fit. I was planning to get a wig made anyway.

... that's really interesting bunnydots! Not only is the head size larger on yours, but I think a different resin colour. My Minimee head is slightly MORE pink then the ipple body he's on - the body looks a bit flat and yellow-ish compares to his more glowy pink-white.

It's really difficult to capture the difference in colour on camera, but here's a few more pics for interests sake...

You can see, sort of, that the head is pinker then the body here.

To anyone who got their preview shots, how did you get them?
Did Denny or DIM send them through email, or someway else?? And how long did you have to wait for the shots after payment??

He e-mailed mine too, and asked for a confirmation. If you need any further changes done to the previews you tell him and pay your extra 50 dollars, then he sends you more previews with the changes done.

Yup. My email came from Denny. I, personally, only waited about a week from the date of payment. (Goes to check emails) My payment was complete on July 24th and my preview shots arrived August 2nd. 9 days total? I hope that helps.

 

Sabriell: I guess you can wait until you've got them, then see how you feel? :3 Bermann is gorgeous, anyway!

 

Loki - there definitely appears to be a difference. The closest match for my Minimee head is actually Volks Old BW. I don't really like it being so white but like I said, that can at least be fixed by blushing, whereas if it was too dark then I couldn't fix it, so it's better for it to be lighter. It also looks like you got a nice size head. Not sure why the heads went and got so big after the first batch, I'm just glad mine seems to be a size I can live with - it looks slightly smaller than some of the heads that have recently been posted by others.

 

O_O...that's fast! I think I'll have to wait a bit longer because I ordered 3 heads haha XD

 

Yes it was very fast. Can't complain though. I also didn't need anything fixed on him. So, he's been on the list for casting since the 3rd of August. I can't wait. I thought you ordered 3, but I couldn't remember. Anyway. I hope you get news soon!

Wow, it looks like the Iplehouse body's resin is as close of a match as I have seen!

With the addition of White skin, will the normal skin change much? I'm ready to order my Minimee, but I have yet to know what skin color I want. I really like the looks of these heads on the Iple bodies.

 

i'll definitely order an iple house... although how's a senior delf body look on them? and I wish I could just buy one of those flat, without buying the head. oh well... or a DOT, how's that compare?

 

Yeah. I was very interested to know how a DOT body matched up against the Minimee heads, but no one seems to know.
