1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Disaster! Must evacuate! Will your dolls go with you?

Jun 29, 2008

    1. If it was immidiate evacuation I would have grab my dog and my sister would have grab me and our parents would grab us. But, if I had time, at least 10 minutes or so, with my dog, I would have grab a bag and throw there all the suff I've got on my favorite shealf (there's not much, anyway) and took the doll... my computer is waaaay to big to try to move it out in 10 minutes, so domn with it, even if I love it badly.

    2. my kitties and my dolls of course. Others can run on their own.

    3. if i had to get out right away (as in i have like 10 seconds), i'd grab a bag of random stuff from my room in one hand and my doll in the other (it's easy because i only have one doll xD; ). my parents can take care of the pets.

    4. Hell yes, Shai would come with me. He and Tippy (my twenty-seven-year-old chimpanzee doll) would get strapped to me while I helped my parents hunt down our five cats. (The two dogs are easy to find -- they're always underfoot.) If I had time, I'd snag my laptop (ten years' worth of roleplay logs on that thing, which I try to keep backed up online), my iPod (ten years' worth of collected music), my photos, and... everything else is replaceable, really.

    5. I can hardly imagine any kind of disaster can happen here, especially the one may cause evacuation, but if it will, sure my first concern would be my family (husband and cats), then my laptops and then doll(s).

    6. first my grandma and little sister, then my duchess and labtop. but i live in maryland, the worst we get here is lik a lvl 1-2 storm

    7. Interesting thought. I can't say I've ever been close enough to a disaster with dolls to know what I'd do [Charley, Francis, Ivan, and Jeanne were all before I got into BJD, and none of them were with me during a small earthquake in CA I experienced earlier this year]

I like to think I'd have time to grab dolls, but that's never a sure thing and my own skin is rather important to me as well. Foreseen disasters, like hurricanes? You bet I'll make some kind of provision for them coming with me. Surprises? Well... Doubtful. I'd hate myself for it, but there's some things that come first.

Now that I think about it, maybe it's time I sat down and drew up a disaster plan...

    8. in the UK i dont really have to worry about tornados and hurricanes (although we can get some bad wintery high winds) also where i live i dont have to worry about being flooded out either. We can get the odd earthquake but nothing requiring to be evaculated, lol
Leaving Fire....... I live with my sister and tbh id make sure she is up and out the house as id never live with myself if anything happened to her. My doll Xander is next to my bed within arms reach so id prob just grab him and stuff him inside my dressing gown (if i was sleeping) or inside my jacket as i make a run for it with my sis. If i had to leave him behind in an emergency for any reason then so be it - my family comes first and he can be replaced although id prob never feel the same about a replacement doll.

as for any of my other worldly goods - well if they have to be left behind too then so be it, laptops, games consoles and everything else i own etc etc- thats what insurance is for but you cant put a price on human life so that is what i value above all else.

    9. Me > My sister > My wallet > My cat > My laptop > everything else

    10. Wow...a lot of people have cats here...No dog people?well anyway if i had a doll and there was a fire and i had a bit of time i would first save people, then pets, then money/wallets, then photo albums, then my art stuff, then "my doll", then my most valuable stuffed animals and hello kitty stuff...whew!

    11. Well I was in hurricane Katrina and I packed everything that was important to me, since I was the only living person in my house.

      Cash, Ipod, Computer, Dolls.

    12. I was actually just wondering earlier today if any dolls were involved in that hurricane...

    13. My family members would be the first i want to bring along...
Andand~My lovely doll i considered as one of my family members...
      LOL

    14. Myself, My husband, my cats, my computer(s), then my dolls
Which reminds me I have to check & move all my important docs into the fire safe again.

    15. I have a couple of large bags for my dolls and would of course rescue them all. It's the dolls I have on hold here to do layaway with new owner I would worry more about as if they got damaged would insurance cover the loss so I could refund money.

    16. It is heartening to read that people's hearts and heads are in the right place. We can get so attached to things sometimes and lose our minds in emergencies but keeping things in perspective is important.

Coincidently, in an emergency, daughter, husband, purse, and everything else is negotiable. ^_^

    17. Yes, the dolls would be going also! First the kids, hubby, dogs, purse, laptop, hopefully some clothing and food, and then the dolls. But they would be easy. I would put them all in a laundry basket if I had to get out immediately!

    18. Of course!
They would be the first thing Id grab.
I wouldn't stand the fact of leaving them behind.

    19. Fortunately my parents and aunt and brother can all run (plus my grandmother is on the ground floor next to the door out), so that just leaves my stuff. I'd get the dolls, the the iPod, the cellphone, money and laptop. They're all in one place so it's pretty easy to grab. Hope nothing like that happens though x_X

    20. Even though I love my dolls to death, I would have to leave them if like you said there was a tornado or fire or somthing, then again there in my basement ( I sleep in my basement ) and the part of the country i live on doesnt get tornados. Truthly though id rather get my family and pets out before thinking of that!! Now in the case of if there was a hurricane or somthing that you could prepare cuz you would get a warning and stuff, id make sure my dolls were in a safe place.
