1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Disaster! Must evacuate! Will your dolls go with you?

Jun 29, 2008

    1. In a life and death situation where every second counts? I'd leave my dolls. My laptop and external hardrive are more important because they have my school work files; that is a year of hard work that I need to complete courseworks compared to dolls that I never worked for (since I get my doll spending money from my father).

    2. lol
Funny to see how many people include the Computer to the rescue, too XD
Because indeed, my laptop would be a priority since my whole investment and work are in it and nowadays no one can live without a computer :P
Priority list is Family, pets, computer, some of my most important books among the thousands I have, and dolls would be a distant choice, although if I had the chance I would get at least my YoSD and my MSD since they weight less and wouldn't take much work load.

    3. Imminent, life-threatening situation such as a fire: Hell no. I love Damien, but she can be replaced with money. My cat, my mother and sister, and my dog cannot. They are more important to me than anything else, therefore their safety is more important than a hunk of resin's.

Where I live, risk of flooding is minimal at best, we don't have tornadoes, and we're land-locked so no hurricanes or tropical storms. The worst thing that can happen is white-outs and blizzards, which are actually fairly infrequent. In those cases, you can't really evacuate; you're stuck in the house because the snow reaches the top of your front door. So, in terms of "known" disasters, I don't really have an action plan since I've never had the need for one. I suppose I might consider Damien if I knew my family and pets were safe first, but only after the fact.

    4. The only threat here is a serious flood or fire.
If one of those was to occur I'd take my whole house with me if I could. *Very attached to house*
If I had the time to pack them and take them with me, yes, I would, if I don't... Well... I'd rather come out alive with my family and dogs rather than to die for something without a heartbeat...

I really hope I will never have to experience a disaster of any kind.

    5. In a fire, it would depend if someone had already grabbed my cats. I would rather have my cats than my doll. But if it was an evacuatation I would take him, I only have one, so it's not a big deal.
I try not to think about it, after months of waiting, it would be a shame to lose him.

    6. Well, duh!

That is after the family, and pet.;)

    7. Given that in whatever situation there are no lives in immediate risk.
It depends on the emergency really, evacuating for a natural disaster, i can definitely fit my two into my suitcase with my clothing, back up hard drives, and irreplaceable things. Emergency get out now sort of thing, their way down the list of things that are more important to the family, not just myself.

    8. I live alone (not even with a fish) so if I have a bit of warning my dolls are coming with me. If it was something more immediate I might still take them since it doesn't really take that long for me to grab them and skiddadle.

    9. Luckily I have no pets, or loved ones (yeah yeah sad I know) so yeah I'd grab my dolls (and my most expensive clothes and electronics and plenty of food).

As for fire, it would be phone, computer dolls and then hightail it out of there

    10. dolls? no, I don't thing so (maybe when I'll get them in bag )

    11. I'd toss them out the window and onto the grass while in my room, if it was a fire- after getting pets and family members out first >: they mean so much to me, they're family to me- I'm not going to die for them, but I'd do everything in my power to save them.

    12. If there is time to get things together- such as a fire or flood warning in the news, I'd get my pets packed up, pack a bag of clothes/food, and then my dolls since they are the only possesions I have that are special and irreplacable to me.

If it was urgent I'd just grab my pets and run for it.

    13. As I only have one doll right now, and she would be easy to grab, sure, I'd stuff her in a jacket pocket, grab my laptop and maybe, if I had time, a change of clothes. Of course, I'd be checking to see that my parents, sister, and dog were out safely while grabbing these things. The only thing that would make me sad is that I'd probably have to leave my pet corn snake Flicker. His cage is too hard to get open in a quick fashion (usually takes me ten minutes or so to get it open D: )

    14. In my current living situation? I think I'd be more worried about my two flatmates than anything else, though knowing them they'd probably be 2 or 3 steps ahead of me anyway. ;_;

SO provided I had time and they were fine to get out on their own, my order would be: Laptop and External HD (They're basically right beside eachother) then Dolls and then on my way out my ps3. I would hope I'd atleast have some rational thought to save the important/expensive things first that I could. Pets are never in my room anyway so I wouldn't have to worry about them.

    15. In a disaster, I doubt I'd have the composure to think about what I'd bring. Most likely, I'll just grab anything of value I happen to see on my way out. The doll's usually near the front door, so there's a pretty good chance I'd grab her too. :D

    16. I dont know. First thought would be my babies, my Kingsnake Voodoo and my ball python Waka. They would be first. I'm their mom. I cant leave them trapped to die. Then (if family was safe) My art portfolios and a gold dipped rose my partner gave me. I would grab my doll since all of this is only in a 5ft distance.

Anything alive must be first. If a doll is gone its gone. It feels no pain, you can get another.
My snakes would suffer and burn alive in cages i put them in. Its my duty to make them first. I can't replace them. They have their own personalities and i love them.

    17. Depends on time. If i had time, it would be pets [the fish] , some jewellery [gifts from friends/boyfriend], my lovely laptop and then my dolls. Ofc, the family must be able to fit in too. If i didn't have time, I'd make sure my family is safe, and if possible, my fish. Dolls are replaceable, but my family and fish are not.

    18. Well today we had a Tsunami scare, So since I had gotten so many phone calls I was up awake so I left home and headed up the mountain with my friends and all of us the first thing we packed were our dolls. So I dumped out clothes for a container and placed almost all of them in there while two went in the doll bag. Luckily nothing happened today but no one took a chance. My parents stayed home we aren't in a flood zone but my mom and dad stayed home with the animals. (Plus Ma is one not to leave her house)
Went up stayed in my friends relative house and we threw a blanket down and slept in the yard or played on our DS ^^ Nice day out too

    19. Anyone alive should be the first...but since I wouldn't have any pets ...after wallet and cell phone... I would pick up dolls many as possible...

Hope that it wont be any disaster...

    20. tsumani warning today for most of NZ, especially the city my little sister lives in- i called her this morning, and she was lying in bed with her doll XD;;; she said she doubted the tsunami would get her, but she'd die with her doll if she was going to die at all.

I think she was joking >>; but I was a little bit... "D< SIS!"
