1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Disaster! Must evacuate! Will your dolls go with you?

Jun 29, 2008

    1. Um, if it were possible. But if it came to it I'd grab Hyde and Hideto only - really, they're most important to me and I cannot carry five dolls on my own. Sounds horrible to say, but .. I'd leave 'em if I had to.

    2. First would be my family and little dog, then definately as many dolls as we all could carry lol! I would hate to think anything like could happen, but my dolls too are insured, better be safe than sorry.

    3. Family, dog, doll...T.V.?

I need to think about this a little more...

    4. The doll on one arm, and the dog in another xD

    5. I don't really know. I live by myself for now and I have two dogs. I could probably just chuck my dolls in the back because thats what I'd need to do if in that situation. I hope I'm not though.

    6. My doll would be the first thing I grab... unless if one of my pets was nearer to me.

    7. When we evacuated for Rita several years ago, Packed up the car and dogs. Didn't even think about dolls since we had never done this before. Might rethink if it ever happens again.

    8. you know oddly enough this has happened to me, and the answer is yes, mine would, or at very least certain irreplaceables would, and the others if I had time. How do I know? well this happened to me when serious bushfires threatened our home, and we were evacuated.

For those interested if I had a doll that ws not mine in my home it would go up in priority, limiteds go up in priority, discontinueds go up in priority, and then, sadly emotional value...the reason being that while I adore ALL my dolls they are insured, heavily insured, so when you have only moments to get out it is the jewelery, family photos, cat and the irreplaceable ones that get space, the rest go if there is time.....and for those wondering my house has over 10 now, that is a lot to evac.

    9. If I had time to pack a suitcase, they would all come with me. If the house was on fire, I'd take as many as I can fit in my arms together with my cats, starting with my favorites.

In my house, I do consider my dolls to be the one thing that would be hardest to replace - other than photographs. And it would break my heart on so many levels if I had to dig charred bits of resin out of a burned house. So, if I had to run - cats, dolls, photoalbums, laptop, in that order. *lol*

    10. Alaw in a pocket, Gwen and Zee under one arm, the doglet under the other and my SLRs slung around my neck :p I'm sure I'd manage it.

I am thinking of getting my dolls insured, just like my camera stuff. I think it will get expensive when I put that both Gwen and Zee are discontinued, now rare, dolls, but it will be worth it if they get damaged or stolen. At least I will have something back from them.

    11. It depends on how long I had to evacuate. I was evacuated from my house once because of a large fire in the area, and we managed to bring the things most important to us. However, if I had only enough time to get myself and pets to safety, I would even think of the dolls.

    12. I pretty much live alone, so if it were the kind of disaster where I had enough warning to pack them after getting my cat, my insurance papers, and a selection of clothes and food items for myself.

But in an emergency like a fire where there isn't enough time to worry about dolls, probably not.

    13. my dogs and family come first, but if i had time to reach my room i would grab a small box in the top of my closet thats filled with pictures and id throw all my important stuff i could on top and run out

i have pretty bad anxiety so these tthoughts come to mind quite a bit, and that actually why all my irreplacable pictures are kept in one place in an easy to carry box, so if i had to hurry out of the house i could grab it throw somethings in or on top of the box and get out

but considering i have six dogs i probably wouldnt even have time for that

    14. it depends, if my house gets burn and I'm in a different room, and I can finish dead or alive but I really don't know... I’ll run with my little dog.

    15. I`d grab about EVERYTHING with importance to me, saving as much as I could. I am a materialist, things are more important to me than saving my own ass... :sweat

    16. My doll would go, even in an immediate emergency. If I had to stuff her down my pants so I could grab the dogs, I would, but I wouldn't even think of leaving my doll. Her spot is atop my dresser with a few other things with heavy sentimental value, so I'd be going to her anyway.

For prepped evacuations, like hurricanes (which we get a lot down here), she would most definitely be joining me, even though my house is in a fairly flood-free and secure area.

    17. If I knew a flood was coming and we had to evacuate I would prolly try to take EVERYTHING with me. Yes, including the dolls. ^^

If it was a fire...I'de still try to do the same thing! XD
I already thought this out before. First I'll take the blanket off my bed and throw it out the window to create a soft bedding on on the ground. Then I'll chuck all my manga, dolls, toys onto it. Even if they break its prolly still fixable with glue. But if they burn, well thats it isnt it?
As for myself....the nearest fire brigade station to us is about 4 minutes away so I'll just stay put until they come and save me.

    18. Horses... Then Dolls.

Horses come first since they are living and I could'nt imagine leaving them behind. Then the dolls.

    19. I try not to think about it, I don't want to invoke anything.

If I haden't the time, it would just be me and my squirmy cat (since her carrier is in the closet, I would need both hands for her).
Had I at least three hours warning, the order goes as follows: cat (in carrier), ID/purse, camcorder, computer, doll. There are maybe three photos of importance to me that I keep out that I would grab as well. If transporting myself, for whatever crazy reason, like blocking people from entering my area, I'd load this set of things into my bike trailer and hightail it out of here. (I have no car)

    20. If there was space in the car/van for art then yes. Kid, husband, dog, paperwork, family stuff that can't be replaced then the art and the dolls.
We have insurance, dolls are replaceable (well most of them anyway....)
