Ok, having just got my 4D order in today (new one) I can 100% confirm 4D's Cassia style pant will fit Mano





If they have that blue about them, that's only the light, not the pants. They are a very nice beige linen sort of deal.

 

A quick pic of my guy with the 12/13 eyeco soft glass eyes. It's a bit grainy so you can't see the color all that well, but at least you can get an idea as far as size is concerned:



They definately fit better than the round high domes he had in. Though, I'm actually tempted to go a bit smaller

 

Ooh, Yuu-chan those pants are great! Such good news that we can find even more styles to fit him. ^_^

Oh boy! He can wear 4D?? Are those the SD17 size, I assume? The SD13 sizes are pretty tight on the SD13s, and he has an even bigger butt than they do. ^^ Yuu-chan, those pants look smashing on him.

Amusingly, I've got my boy wearing SD13 Tony's default pants right now; they are hipster-chic-oversized, so they fit Mano perfectly. He seems pretty close to SD16 pants size, with the small waist & big bum (hourglass ). I'll have to experiment with my SD16's pants collection... Anyone know if Mano can wear standard Hound-size pants, or is it hit-and-miss?

Arrowchild, wow!I can't even believe your boy & mine are the same sculpt... he looks so different in tan! I like the goth look you have for him in normalskin, and that's not a look I'd've guessed he could work. Kudos to you. ^^ Those eyes look great in him too. I have the Eyeco 14mm "Autumn"s in my tan man right now, and they look great, but it's nearly impossible to keep them in there. ;; I wanna break down with an eye-bevel & scoop out the backs of those eyesockets a litle bit, so he can at least wear SOME round eyes.

 

Isn't that funny? The manos all seem to have a uniqueness to them; I'm so fascinated by how versitile this sculpt can be. Those are 'smokey topaz' in the pics, (though the color is so washed out...I really need to take a couple pics in natural light). I'm using Catrina's duct tape trick right now to make them stick, though I wish I could squish them in even farther, (heavier putty maybe..? with the tape..? hmmm) I love the shape of mano's eyes and wouldn't change them for the world, but the rounds really do throw a bit of a fit when faced with those sockets.

Updates:

First, Limhwa has given me permission to begin another ordering period. I have to work on the web site a bit, so it will begin tomorrow and run for a week or so.

Second, she says she feels the French resin dolls will be finished up between the 11th and 14th of February.. this delay was due to a shortage of French resin country-wide in Korea and was not her fault. Along with any French resin Manos, Limhwa girls, SMC torsos, and new high heeled feet which were ordered in French resin, these will be coming in shortly.

There were also two urethane Evas who had some kind of box problem with the label. They were returned to Korea as undeliverable, and she is returning them to me today. This happened last year with a Supia shipment, and the reason was the label got torn off in shipment. It's the "year of the rat" now, so perhaps that sums it up : - )

Duct tape! Well! Is there anything it can't do?
I'll have to try that, until I can borrow an eye-bevel.
Beveling out the back of his sockets wouldn't change the shape of the eye... just that well in the back, where the eye sits. It's so tiny. I'm thinking, if I open up the well a little, then maybe he can wear more round eyeballs.

12mm Eyecos look perfect... I have 14mms in Stavros right now, and they'd also be perfect (I like the large-eyed look on him), if only they'd stay in. Duct tape, here I come.

 

Having seen a naked Mano next to a naked Hound it's pretty clear Mano cannot fit Hound pants. Hound is much skinnier and his legs are longer.

Oh, does anyone else have a Mano with one leg being slightly longer than the other? It makes mine difficult(not impossible he does stand) to stand up. There is probably something I can do to fix it such as alittle sanding? (although to be honest the very thought of putting sandpaper to my Mano is horrifying to me..)

 

Yes, I have trouble getting my Mano to stand up, too. I don't know if his legs are uneven lengths, or if the problem is the way they keep trying to rotate inwards. I put hot-glue sueding in him (all over), and it helped a little. But I think he needs another inch of glue in some spots... and I am going to see about having him wired. His elastics are thin, for such a tall doll body, so maybe it's something to do with that; wires could help stabilize him.

(I would personally sand this guy all over in a minute, if he wasn't tanned! Ah well, I accept all the quirks that tan resin can throw at me, because I love it so much.)

I've got a pair of Dollmore's older Hound-sized cargo pants that fit my Yukinojo's big SD16 butt and fit Mano too... but Hounds have long waists & no hips, and Mano & SD16 are both so curvy, so the waist sits way up high (grandpa-style XD). Mano can ju~ust squeeze into Volks's SD16 pants if they are fitted; they're fine if baggy. I make a point to try everything on every body, because sometimes you assume stuff won't fit, & surprise, it does.

So far, it is hit-and-miss. I was drooling over Dollmore's recent Model-sized pants, but held off buying because those guys' legs are SO skinny, and they have such small butts, I can't imagine they'd fit Mr. Voluptuous Mano. Luminaire, have you got any of those Model/Hound pants by any chance, to try on your Mano? I'm trying to find an owner of both dolls, so I can pick their brains thoroughly. ^^

Y'know... Looking at Yuu-chan's boy, I think I'm just going to head over to 4D!

 

JennyNemesis: Woah, tan mano is a hottie. I think I like him best out of all the Manos I've seen so far

My Mano's elastic keeps getting stuck in the slots (you know, the ones for allowing him to sit / his arms to bend)... it's like the slots are too thin and the elastic is too thick >_<

Does anyone else have this problem?

Can't seem to stay away from this thread, but... Yes, I DID have that exact problem with the elastics. I had to use a ceramic-knife to scrape out those channels a little wider, in his elbows & the tops of his thighs. That improved things a bit, but I may go back & scrape even more.

I couldn't say if Sky's legs are a little off, he stands really well, though his right foot occasionally likes to not lay flat.

The Cassia style pants are indeed SD17 size (and a tiny bit long in the leg, I cuffed Sky's by rolling the extra into to the leg -rather than outside).

I have collected what Mano shopping advice has been given so far and as we get more we can expand this. Name of the original poster above the fact.

*I figure its handy to have these if you catch them on the Marketplace.

Shirts:

Senior Delf tops fit (but are short in the sleeve -if they are long sleeved).

Iplehouse Hound dress shirts fit bit the snap style ones are snug (on a 1st ed chest, SMCs might not allow for the snaps to be done up) and cannot be done up at the collar as his Adam's apple gets in the way XD.
Iplehouse Hound dress shirts with real buttons do fit him with room to spare.
SD sized tees from Iplehouse may be too short in the waist or look funky as Mano has broader shoulders.

4D Pyracantha jackets (for SD17) fit him so well, it comes in two styles (pattern wise) :3 (on the Fusion page of 4D)

Magic Tailor knit hoodie sweaters fit him as well. I got mine 2nd hand, so I don't know how easy they are to find.

Wigs

Leeke 8-9 fit reasonably well (I recently tugged Sky's so its a bit over his ears which keeps the wig secure while not being really obvious).
DOT wigs should fit him nicely.

I have found that a variety of wigs in size 8/9 or size 9 fit my Luis fine, including Jpop, regular Monique's, Luts, some wigs by Posh Dolls + custom mohair wigs I have purchased. He has a head circumference of exactly 9".

He can also wear Iplehouse fur wigs. They're shaped specially for tall narrow heads, and they have notches cut out for the ears!

Shoes

Senior Delf shoes should fit him quite nicely (I've tested him in boots and shoes, the boots are super easy, the shoes require loosening the laces and a bit of work but do fit).

Misc

Eyes
Eyeco eyes work well with his smaller size and eyewell shape.

One may need to use duct tape circles to get the eyes to stay in.

I have used Luts Plastilina with no problems in my Mano.
He's got 12mm glass eyes from Soom which leave some gaps on the side closest to his nose but aren't too bad.
I'm expecting some 12mm high dome Gumdrops in True Olive soon, I'll let you know how they work.

Some pictures of Sky in the 4D clothes, his wig is pulled a bit over his ears in these pictures and the pants are cuffed (rolled inside). Don't mind Freddy there, Sky is currently the resident babysitter XD

I have a tip to add to the Wigs department: he can also wear Iplehouse fur wigs. They're shaped specially for tall narrow heads, and they have notches cut out for the ears! I was surprised, because I assumed they'd be too small for him; what a nice surprise to be wrong.

 

One question about tan mano! I am going to take the risk and modd him slightly, but I would like to know.. is the resin tanned all over? I know the naraes and supias are, and you can sand the resin because inner resin is tanned as well. But other tanning resins are tanning only in the surface, and for the dark color of this guy, I am afraid that it will be like that. Any tips?
