1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Discussion thread for Limhwa Limho Mano

May 21, 2007

    1. Are you serious about being the oldest Mano owner at 27? Or are you pulling a funny!? Cause I have a Mano and I am not giving away my age but...
      :dohAm considerably older than 27!

And if I am any indication of your theory of older=like realistic, than yes, I love the realistic much better. Really not into the fantasy type except I do have a soft spot in my heart for fairies and elves!:aheartbea

    2. It was just a very badly concluded theory, my logic and sociology professors
would be ashamed of my unfunded conclusion! We are all young at heart, at any rate! ^_____^

I was planing on redoing my Mano's body blush, I did just that, and I dressed
him up for a shoot, although the clothes are not too decent, I posted a few of those
photos in the gallery, if anyone is interested. He is not your typical "pretty"
Mano, so don't look if you're faint of heart (warning, male nipples!).

Everyone's Manos are gorgeous, congratulations to all the new owners!

      - Enzyme ^^

    3. Ok, maybe I'm the oldest, 55, last Dec. Mano would make a great Elvis, for those so inclined. Mine is a white urethane intended to be a Michaelangelo's David, so not much color will be going on him. But a tanned Elvis would turn a lot of heads, I think.

    4. Hi everyone,
I have a lot of sanding projects today, so thought I'd take a break and do some photos of my 3 Mano guys. We got some sun today, so you can see three different resin colors of Manos all together. These three are shown for comparison only; they are NFS displays.

We see tanned Mano on the far left, middle is normal beige urethane, and then pinky white French resin on the right. The normal beige and pinky white guys both have the original small torsos from the first ordering period.
The pinky white Mano is the first casting, and first painted Mano. He is also body-blushed by Limhwa.

    5. Daa~aang! :celebrate: What could be nicer than a Neapolitan sundae? One made entirely out of Manos. Wahoo! I love a tricolored trinity. Friend of mine just recently did the same thing with three different colors of Iple's Soo Ri, and I am overjoyed to get the chance to see it happening again so soon. Any trend where you photograph multiples of the same beautiful man, is a fine trend by me. <3 Catrina, your tres hermanos are wonderful together, all of them looking so different from each other-- in mood, expression, the way the light hits them-- and yet so alike.

But photographing light-and-dark men together CAN be tricky, all right! Make the blondes show up OK, and the dark men disappear... get the dark ones to show, and the blondes wash out. ;; Including a glowing pinky-white French resin guy in there must've confused your camera even more. ^^ But they look great. I wouldn't mind being greeted by that sight when walking into a doll shop first thing in the morning.

Dabacpac, oh yes, the spectre of Elvis has reared his pouty head more than once while we've all been gazing at Mano! Sadly, all the clothes, jewelry, and wigs in my house right now are the exact opposite styles needed for a Bronzed Elvis, otherwise I'd have done that photoshoot for you already. Perhaps somebody else who keeps more rhinestones about, you can step in. ^^

Enzyme, Hombre is still the badassest sparklyfaced guy I know. <3 <3 <3 Fabuloid man!!

    6. Dear Jenny,
"what could be nicer than a neopolitan sundae?"

      Limhwa Limho Mano Elf.

    7. "Limhwa Limho Mano Elf"

      *crash* !!!!!!

    8. Hot, hot, hot Enzyme!!! *wipes drool off keyboard* He is just too hot for words! And I think he IS pretty, in a decidedly decadent kind of way....
Where did you get his lace shirt? My mano wants one!

    9. GAH.....sign me up for an elf now!!!! PLEASE!

      *falls over faint*

      :)

    10. If she makes an elf I'm dead.

    11. Yummy pictures! I still love my French resin Mano, but an elf would be great! Are you dropping hints?

    12. :droolGoodness I don't think I would be able to work if I had those 3 hunks around....knowing me I would keep mine naked just to stare at them....why can't real men look that good and not be insulting or obnoxious???

    13. So sorry to hear of your imminent expiration....

In the meantime, better eat chocolate.

      :chocoberry:chocoheart:truffle:whitetruffle

    14. ELF! *pricks ears* >^..^<

Catrina, I do hope you get a white Mano as well, because now I'm having a hard time picking a color. Does Limwha use the same type of resin as Supia, by any chance?

    15. Hmmm....if Stella Maris is in danger of 'imminent expiration'.........

Oh my Catrina....an ELF would be a dream come true! [IMG]

      Chocolates all around....

    16. *starts making plans to work her butt off and save enough up for an elf* Oh my heart and stars!

      eeee

...but I'm supposed to get a girl doll next. *head thunk* I don't have one yet. XD

    17. Catrina: Mano ELF???????? :D That would be fantastic!!! (***hopes***). :aheartbea And your trio of Mano's are beautiful, what a delightful sight for you and others to enjoy everyday in your shop!

Even though I enjoy looking at and appreciate the many different styles of BJD's that are available (always love eye candy! :whitetruffle) ~ for myself, I have now grown to prefer realism in my own personal dolls. Even as a child, I dreamed of such realism ~ I think it comes from being an artist (I love doing portraits), I just find the human face in all its wonderful diversity to be so beautiful and expressive, and the more realistic the doll, the more I enjoy customizing, painting and photographing them. :chocoberry

JennyNemesis: Glad you like my Luis! And your Stavros is also wonderful, I like the way you did his face-up and styling, he's very kool! :chocoheart

Everyone's Mano's are splendid, always a pleasure visiting this thread and seeing all the delicious Mano goodness and wonderful pics of our fave resin guy!!! :love

    18. was told my Mano looked like Elvis from some angles, I believe he
would make a rather handsome Elvis in tanned resin.

Wow, such a gorgeous sight! You are a lucky woman Catrina!
Thank you for those amazing, jaw dropping comparisons between
your three Manos. They show just how versatile the sculpt truly is, they
all look so different from the each other.

Thank you JennyNemesis, and SusanHedrick, for your comments on
Hombre, he is my "sparkly decadent bad-*ss beauty," (I also believe
he's pretty, just not in a conventional way!). Susan, I made the crummy lace
      single-button shirt myself! ^^;;

      - Enzyme ^_____^

    19. Enzyme: I think Hombre is fantastic! :aheartbea (his lace shirt is also lovely). :)

      best wishes, :truffle
