Discussion thread for Limhwa Limho Mano

Good! Thanks much, Yuu-chan. To hear he can get away with 12mm Gumdrops, without any modding to his eye-wells, is great news... because I have a powerful lust for Gumdrops, and reeeeally want him to be able to. ^^

My other question to anyone is: Can he wear 14mm Gumdrops? By any chance, do you have some just lying around the house that your boy can try on? I do like the way certain 14mms look in him; am wondering if Gumdrops irises run too large.

Other eye news: I just scored there 12mm glass eyes from Releaserain on eBay, and I'm pretty impressed!


I had thought they might be too pointy to fit, but the cornea's "point" is small enough to fit in his socket like it was intended for him. The ball of the eye is small enough to fit into his little eye-wells in back, too. Stavros has a little bit of gap showing right now, because I have them turned sharply in his head so he's looking to the side. But if you position them head-on, they fit really well. (And not a bad price for glass.)



These're called "Milky Mocha Mix", if wondering. ^^ Mr. Fabulous can be seen flirting them for a spell over here.

 

JennyNemesis, That's the best Mano I've ever seen! The eyebrows are perfect. I love the placement and size. I'm glad you did my thinking for me. He really set the bar for handsome.

Anyone have comparison shots of the "sexy-muscle-chest" piece, next to the original first release
chest? I'm just curious, and want to see them right next to each other, preferably disembodied,
just the chests pieces alone. XD

At the moment I don't have any 14mm Gumdrops, but maybe if another dolly nut who goes to Anime North does I'll be able to ask for a quick borrow to test out the size. Though probably someone else will likely get such pictures before me XD.

I think I may be jumping in on the next Gumdrops order anyway, so I will probably just grab some 12mm's while I'm there. Your photos show that they really are perfect, and I probably wouldn't want them much bigger than that anyway. Now only the HARD decision remains: Java Frost or Root Beer or ...?

 

Another find! This time its a wig.

I bought it from Iplehouse (but I think its a Dollga heat-resistant fibre wig, look like the ones on Leekeworld). And it actually fits!

 

Hmmm.... any news about possible day when dollies will be ready to be shipped?

 

Did anyone manage to get Mano from the new batch? It was told Mano be shipped from Korea last weekend but no dolls and news yet.

 

JennyNemesis, your yummy guy looks like he is lounging in a cabana in some exotic locale...oh to be there.

to my house, during a winter storm I might add, helps me understand

Oh, anyone? *sigh* I'm not even in the waiting room this time, and I'm still eagerly bouncing at the news that Manos are shipping somewhere out in the world. I want to see who's getting what this time! Who is in this batch? Anyone tan? White & NS only? No elves yet?

Exotic downtown San Francisco, on my fabulous papasan couch. The role of "breezy cabana wall" is cleverly played by my grimy Venetian blinds. Ahh! The foggy riviera!

You know, the worst part - is no news. He have to be shipped - and I don't know if he was, and where is he now

 

My Mano has a 'scary-face-up,' but I post photos of him anyway --
I believe most people can see past the face-paint, and see the beauty/flaws
of a sculpt, beyond all the paint! I think you'll do a great job on him, at least
you'll do a better job than I can! I was cursed with the steady hand of a drunk,
who happens to be high! So, my eyebrows are all wonky, and my lip-lines are
all scribble-ly, but I still love my little blue-haired man, so I 'pimp' him. ^____^;;

I hope you get a tracking number soon, or at least some news on what's going on
with your Mano! Forgot to ask, which resin-choice did you get?

Enzyme, I spend like 10 minutes looking on Hombre picture and trying to find wonky eyebrows and scribble-ly lip lines and didn't find anything like that. Are you sure we are talking about the same Mano?
I want my doll to come sooner as weather getting hot and in week gotta be 30C or about. I'm not sure how to do makeup in such a hot day I'm also waiting for another doll -Saint.. but that doll will take much longer way to my home.
I've bought the same one as your is - beige urethane, I'm a bit freak about yellowing Alsough I'm thinking about Tan Mano or Elf /coughing/
Btw, when we ll see new pictures of Hombre?
Or did I miss something?

 

Vanilla, you can't see the flaws of my face-up because I'm such a bad
photographer! If I can even be called one. ^_____^;;
You're too kind, and sweet also, you're blinded by your kind-heart!!!

I usually don't take photos of my dolls unless I make new clothes
for them to wear. I haven't had much time to make clothes for them,
and Hombre is a big challenge! I will take some soon, I promise
(thank you so much for always commenting on my posts of him!).
He just got a yet another new face, I have to take some photos of him
soon anyway. ^.^''

I prefer doing face-ups when it's cold, but for MSC to "set" it's supposed
to be warm. I don't know, I hate extremely warm weather, so maybe that's
it. I hope you get some news of your boy soon, and look forward to seeing him one
of these days!

(I shouldn't throw stones, though... Stavros hasn't been in front of that camera for a month either. Shame on us, keeping a Mano under wraps! ^^ But we have Sky right here to look at, in his sweet new blonde hair. And maybe earth.spirits has posted more of Luis lately; that would be nice to look at too. I should go check. 'Scuse me.)

 

Enzyme, that's just impossible how much you criticize your work! )) Hombre is so beautiful and all this little imperfections make him more alive one, and even with this colours - like blue brows, he does look very real! And I'm gonna wait for his pictures. Does he very flirty wild thing still?))

JennyNemesis, I should just recycle that one top over and over, it would save me a lot
of time, and effort trying to fit something on his gorgeously stylized chest, and narrow waist!
I think Hombre would hate me for all eternity if I did that, he is not a lace-type of man, he was
kind of forced in to it. ^___^;; There truly isn't enough Mano-spam going around, but it's nice to
see at least one of them, every once in a while. Although I must admit, I spam mine quite often,
if I do say so myself! XD


Vanilla, I am my own-self worst critic, Isn't that how it should be? I just worry his eyebrow hairs,
are not hair-like enough. I should practice more, and complain less, maybe that way I would improve
some! It always pains me to hear of all the custom fees people have to pay, there really should be
some changes on how customs work -- it's not fair that people have to pay half of what they already
paid for their goods to begin with. There's something seriously wrong with that. T__T
I'll cross my fingers in hopes that you get a tracking number soon, and that customs will skip
your package, and just send him straight home for once!
