Oh, I meant to get the ELASTIC out of the bar-- if you have trouble untying the knot, then you'd need to cut it. But not to remove the neck-piece itself, no, then you can just unstring him.

(I don't intend to change Stavros's body with anyone, because he's tan & the resin would never match anyway. ^^ So I am just as happy that his 'bar' is glued in!)

Yes, it sits inside the head, but you always see those notches in the neck too. Makes head-changing easy.

That's a very good idea-- COULD the Luts neck-filler pieces be used to put a regular head on a Mano body? I guess all you'd have to worry about is making it big enough to fit such a big neck.

Lol! I probably didn't read your message well enough (it happens a lot,
particularly when I haven't slept well, thanks to all-nighters playing games,
when I should be resting...). I am hoping my Minimee(s) will work on Mano,
for I have no plans on owning any more large dolls, but I do plan on owning a bunch
of heads... eventually. >_<;; But, that does pose an interesting question, about
how would they fit on my present bodies -- guess I hadn't thought about that. >_<;;

I guess I'll just wait, and see if they work on Mano -- I'm hoping I won't need to mod the head,
I'm definitely not modding the body, it belongs to Hombre, and that's the way it's staying.
Ether way, I'll post when I have valid information about fit/match/proportions, I think there
are a couple people interested in to see this (in the requests forums of course). ^________^

Believe it or not, I actually have a pic of a minimee head on my Mano's extra chest piece, (face-up commission I did a while back and the resin and size match were so good I took a quick pic for my DA gallery)

I'll post it in the request forums if there is a request thread for it

The proportions, at least to the chest piece, are pretty good

closest body I got to "realistic" proportions, I would just love
to see all of "my as-of-now," 'planed-minimee-heads' on a 67cm body! ^________^

Sweet! Arrowchild, I'm sure there WOULD be a ton of requests, if people knew you had that photo... Everyone's desperate to find good bodies for their Minimee heads lately!
(I do not have one myself, but I'd still be curious to see how it fits.)

 

Wow this has progressed loads. Thanks everyone for your information and pictures. I might do a request pic thread as you have suggested and then bombard any poor soul who answers with questions.

I have ordered and paid for an NS Mano anyway. I really think he has the best looking manly body sculpt and his face has its own brutal beauty so if I can't mod him maybe I will just have to keep him anyway (tho the tan version really pulls me a bit harder than the NS)

Anyway...the head bar thingy looks a bit complicated. The main head bit without the faceup is mobile, by which I mean it moves around to give him normal head rotation?

So if you could get the glue off the bar thing, you would take the main head piece off and be left with a fairly normal neck????

If you are talking about the neck piece, it does have a wide range of
rotation -- it can do pretty much any pose, just like any other head
with a regular head/cap combo. It's just easier to switch eyes, and
it would be easier to switch heads as well, only problem that they glued
the bar in place with super strong glue (I tried a few types of glue before,
but nothing this strong!). ^_______^

If you unstring the body, there should be absolutely no problem with taking
the neck piece off. I can't remember how my Mano was strung (I've unstrung
him twice already to do his blush), but I'm pretty sure you have to string him
to get the neck-piece off, I don't think untying the knot will allow you to pull it off.

I'm a massive fan of brutal beauty. Your Hombre is definitely a lovely example of the breed.

Hmmm, maybe I should just unstring him as you suggest. Then I don't have to gouge the neck bar thingy out.

Yes, unstringing Mano should be the "easiest" way to get the neck-piece off!
I still have yet to try removing the bar again... I'll have to do it soon, because one of
my MNM heads might be coming in sometime next week! Yay to the joys of waiting! ^o~

It&#8217;s nice to see you around here vanillasky. I&#8217;m still have mano love and can&#8217;t wait until I save up enough money for him. I know he and my narae girl will look great together. I&#8217;m still trying to decide what skin tone to get him in. the Tan skin has become very tempting.
Keep the picture of mano coming. Every time I see him it the gallery, or especially in the photostories I get very excited. There should be more manos on this site.

the ones he has right now (even though they are human-sized!). XD

Vanilla, yes, I had the same problems with him right out of the box... Sometimes, it does feel like his legs aren't equal length. And both thighs keep trying to rotate inwards. I have tightened & hot-glued Stavros for dear life, and he is still so difficult. But I get the feeling that he needs to be even tighter, against all logic (he has the Tyrannosaurus-arms). More tinkering!

To unstring & restring him, you won't need to take the elastic off the metal bar (unless you're changing heads already!). Just take his hands & feet off, and keep the elastic attached to his head-piece-base thing. He is surprisingly easy to reassemble. It's just that not all his pieces seem to fit together very well. ;;

 

Jenny, noo, I would not touch my Mano)) But, I have one more (well, two) dollies on their way, and I wish second one is ok for Uni.
I'm afraid I'm in love with Mano) Yesterday friend of mine asked to open his head, take a look on the inside - he jumped away when I looked at him. But, with Sard it's all fine, I even let him to change a wig on Sard.
My son draw a picture in the kindergarten - "mama, me and mano in the park", all teachers couldn't get who is that little guy))

 

I completely forgot about measuring Hombre's legs yesterday! U___U;;
I would forget my head, if it wasn't permanently attached to my neck...XD

Here's what I found from my inspections earlier today: both legs appear to
be 36cm long -- now I could be measuring them wrong! Also, my measuring
tape could (most probably is, as most are) be off, but from what I can see
both legs are quite 'symmetrical,' as far as length goes. My Mano seems to
stand perfectly well, he poses extremely good as well (he's my best poser, so
far). But, I did restring mine as soon as he got here, due to my obsessiveness
with blushing my dolls. ^____^;;

I have to agree with Ms. Nemesis, tight seems to work best (that's how I like
all of my dolls), it creates more tension, and I find that because Mano has such
narrow "elastic-slots," he can hold poses better, than most other non-double-jointed
dolls. ^__________^


(Hombre will bring flowers for Auntie-Vanilla's grave everyday, don't worry about that!
He appreciates the dead more than most people would care to believe XD)

Yaaaay! He's beautiful! Wow-- I love the fur and the wild hair, along with his pale faceup. He looks like a snow king, or a winter spirit of some kind.

JennyNemesis, thank you)) We still battling about his personality, I want him to be a man and he wants to be a king)) Tanned one is Dollshe Saint, who arrived yesterday. I bought him from Tensiya sale and very glad I did this, the guy just nice nice nice))

 

Your welcome Vanilla! I like your Mano's face-up so far, it looks
very natural, it suits him very well! I love pale lips, although I can't
get them right on my Mano, and he's meant to have bloody-red lips, but
I don't think they fit Hombre -- so, I try to do them pale but I always end up
with very pinkish lips, instead of pale-rosy-like. ^____^;; I can't get the parting
line right either, so I just leave it alone now -- Mano's lip-line is so hard for
me to paint!!! XD

Oh, and before I forget, what did you name your Mano? ^____^
(I like your tanned-saint, he's neat!)


(For those of you who wanted to see a MNM head on Mano's body, I will upload
some shots of that on this thread, a bit later today.)
