1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Discussion thread for Limhwa Limho Mano

May 21, 2007

    1. I'm still seeing if funding is going to cooperate to snag one of the Mano elves before they're discontinued. He has such an interesting face, and it's incredibly expressive. I get the impression there aren't terribly many of him around, so getting him secondhand would likely prove incredibly difficult. So, keeping my fingers crossed, bigtime.

    2. I don’t think that’s selfish at all, if you can afford them all, then you are lucky not selfish!
I wish I could have gotten at least two more Manos, but sadly I’m poor and still in college!

I don’t mind that they are being discontinued, because I already have my own, and it is
probably hard for the artist to have so many dolls when she’s a solo-artist – I just wish that
they had given a notice with more time, so I could have saved and not lost my only opportunity
to get more bodies. T___T;; You would think I would have learned a lesson from SoulDoll’s
sudden discontinuations, but no luck. XD

    3. Oh yes, do! :abambi: Please do yes! Mr Elf would go so beautifully with your majestic To-L, who after all does need a fluffier elfier counterpart to keep him warm... I'm SURE he does... Or at least a cousin to help wear diaphanous clothes & lots of jewels... ^^

I also feel lucky to have snagged my tan Greek Heartthrob already-- but will be sad for all my procrastinator-friends who've admired Mano for such a long time & have "someday" wanted one of their own. I've warned all the Someday people I know, that they should jump quick if they're going to get one, but I know many of 'em will manage to procrastinate right past the cutoff date. ;; And I feel sad for the many people who're just discovering him now & won't be able to get him later. But, when you're a lone-wolf studio and you want to concentrate on only making tiny girl dolls, you do have to make sacrifices. Alas!

    4. Maybe you could ask if they would consider layaway this ordering period since they gave fans such short notice...?

    5. I was going to do that, but someone at the MP looking to get a Mano in layaway terms,
said that Dollfair told her/him they are not taking layaway for Mano (only discontinued dolls I
wonder, or maybe all?). T_________T;;; I was hoping to get a large X-mas bonus this year,
and pay with that, but alas it just isn’t meant to be (curse tuition and everything else I am obsessed with,
stealing my dolly monies away!!!). XD

I posted a few new photos of Hombre here, if anyone is interested – he is my pride and joy! ^ ^

    6. I loved seeing the posts of Luis coming into himself, it seems you hit it right on when you finally could give him a name!!

    7...... I admit, I am still a raving Luis fangirl too. *undignified squeal*

    8. Within three months of each other. Seems like a couple of my sellers were having a difficult time selling him. Crazy? Yes!! Keep looking!! There are still a lot of folks wanting to trade in their Manos for a gorgeous Iplehouse!

    9. Thank you so much, FaithyHopey and JennyNemesis, for your kind words regarding Luis. :aheartbea Your Mano's are also very beautiful.

I certainly love mine, and would never sell him. Perhaps someday Limhwa will offer her beautiful male dolls again, we can certainly hope she will, as I so admire all of her male sculpts.

Speaking of Luis, just posted a new photo session with him for Winter Solstice with lots of images ~ Here's the link: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343254

And wishing all of my fellow Mano enthusiasts a joyous holiday season and new year! :hollyberry

    10. I see regular Manos, but I've yet to see a Mano Elf on the MP and I've been watching for quite a while.

      Guess he's my Unobtainable now...

    11. I need help finding a fitted dress-shirt pattern for Mano, if anyone has tried, or knows
of one that will work (for Mano), please let me know! I posted a thread about it here, I doubt
it will be of any use to anyone else, but just in case. Thanks in advanced!

    12. I know plenty of tailors who could sew you a fitted shirt for Mano, but I don't know anybody who's created patterns for him... Now that you mention it, Mano-shaped sewing patterns would be a good thing to have around! Sexy as he is, that doll has SUCH an odd-shaped body. :D

Wish I knew the first thing about pattern-drafting, but I don't. Good luck on the search!

    13. JennyNemesis, I wish I wasn't as cheap, I would have someone with talent make the shirt for me,
but I have a very particular taste (or lack of...). I also don't like paying for stuff my dolls will only
wear once (or twice, since I am lazy too!), I think it's a crime to spend money on stuff I don't
truly need (>_>;;.). So, here I am embarrassing myself. Then there's also the fact that the shirt I'm attempting
to make is not my personal design, but rather my best-friend's. I highly doubt she would let me have anyone
else looking at the her draft/sketch without killing me first... XD

I thought it would be a pain in the gut to find a pattern, but I guess I like the thrill of finding one (not really >_>;;.).
Thanks for the input, I agree us four Mano owners (ignore bad joke) would truly benefit from having Mano-fitted-patterns around.

    14. lol...there's four of us?!
Actually, I would love a mano pattern. I commissioned a dress shirt/pants when I first got Emile...well made and very reasonable and, for the life of me I can't rememebr who did it!
But he really is hard to shop for, that's for sure

    15. Arrowchild, in my head, we are four... anymore than that, and Mano would be way too popular for me to own anymore!
*just kidding, I have such a bad sense of humor... it must be old age*

A tailor would be a very good thing, if only it weren't for the design itself, which doesn't belong to me.
      Things would be so much more simple if only I had taken an interest in sewing a bit earlier in my life. T____T;;;

I guess I'll just have to keep trying, I just hope I don't run out of fabric... how disappointing & embarrassing! XD

    16. I've only made loosefitting shirts for my Mano, and the few tightfitting stuff I made by leaving the side seams till last, and then mark them my pinning it tight to his body.

I kind of like that there's not that many Manos out there, it makes him more special :)

    17. Vanityfairy, I've tried that! I guess that's the difference between knowing what you're doing,
and sucking greatly at life! Nothing has worked so far, I'm guessing it's also because
of the material, but I have to give my lack-of-skill most of the credit.

It might not seem like it, but I also love the idea of not many Manos (that's why in my head ther are only four!) *J/K!!*

    18. Been some time since I last checked in. I never go my mano, he was beautiful. I rarely connect with male sculpts; he was one of the few. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Limwha will bring out another boy. That, or, I will get lucky on the market one of these say. Though, I doubt anyone will want to part with their mano.

I will look forward to all the pictures posted of him.

    19. lol Enzyme! That just means we're an elite group indeed!
ghost reflection-I'm sure you'll find your boy some day :)

    20. Oh now, there must be five of us at least...

Aww, hang in there Ghost Reflection - stalk that Marketplace!
