1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Disturbing BJD scenarios

Jan 17, 2017

    1. I know people find dolls disturbing. (My little brother is deathly afraid of them. It's probably my fault.) But the quirks about doll body parts all over the place I know can be strange and messed up to most people. Thankfully it isn't abnormal around here since my husband and I have been in the wargame miniatures hobby for a while, so there has always been random plastic and metal body parts around the home.

I think if I step back from an outsider perspective our most disturbing conversations regarding painting miniatures or thinking of a faceup idea has been when I ask my husband in a craft paint section "Do these colours look right for a dead body?" and my husband replies "How many days dead? And what were the conditions of their death?" People tend to walk by us a lot faster when we throw out discussions like that.

Actually, keeping my floating heads in bubble wrap in boxes seems a lot like murder discoveries... I need to really make soft pillows for them instead. LOL.I think that is making me uneasy whenever I have to re-wrap them for protective measures. Especially when I find myself apologizing to the heads.

    2. I don't think anything creeps me out about BJDs. Actually a "creepiest BJD" photo thread would be pretty funny...anybody want to start one?
