1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it? - Part 2

Jun 4, 2016

    1. I'm going to keep my first and second doll. one is an iplehouse benny the other is iplehouse violet my 4th one on the other hand just might go. its an impldoll Iris

    2. I did sell the first doll I ever purchased, but I ended up buying the same sculpt in a different skin tone before I sold him. I do, however, still have the first doll that ever arrived to me, and I couldn't see myself selling her. To me, the order in which my dolls arrived is irrelevant, I bond with them each a bit differently.

    3. Sheryl Norme is my first love. WHILE waiting for her, I was hunting on webs and purchased the first boy ever. I still love him very much.
No planing on selling any of my dolls. I was planning on celling Ciel since I saw pics of him and I didn't like it.. BUT... after opened his box, I keep him. :3nodding:

    4. Heh, NOPE. That Luts Kid Delf Ani is loooooong gone. That's why I know I should've saved up & bought a doll I TRULY wanted instead of buying one that was just affordable for me at the time.

    5. I'm right in the process of deciding.
To say the truth, these days I would never have bought something like my first doll. She's sort of cute but the sculpt is so primitive.
But my family likes her, and there are so many good memories about the beginning of my hobby, I just can't force myself to sell her, even though I don't like her anymore.

    6. I don't think i could ever sell my first doll, she's special to me now and will be because she was the first one i really wanted.

    7. Keep keep keep. Forever and ever. No matter how yellow she gets or how many times I have to restring her. I fell pretty hard in love with her, her beautiful face, and still love her today, and by the time I could possibly fall out of love with her she'd be so old I might as well keep her. :3

    8. My first one I bought was Lishe. I have since sold her body. I haven't gotten her a new body, she will share. I still love her.

    9. I'm gonna keep my first doll because, well, she was my first. She's also really pretty and I'd miss her.

    10. My first two bjds are original runs from DollZone back in the year they opened(2005) so they're pretty rough, the resin has yellowed and they have some stains but I love those boys so much, Id say despite their flaws but maybe it's because of them, we grew up together and went through some very rough school years together, so I feel we wear our battle scars together! I actually just sent them off for a new faceup each because I felt like they deserved to be spoiled for a,change!

    11. As much as I loved my first, I'm selling now. I used to think I could never part... but life quickly went to pot and now my older dolls simply remind my of a time that wasn't very pleasant... It took me a lot longer to let them go compared to everything else I used to own, but I need to move on. I also had to majorly down size, and any dolls above the 26cm tinys are just seeming way to big now! xD

    12. The first doll I received (secondhand) is very special to me. She's a yellowed Iplehouse JID I, and I love the creamy tone of her resin. If she ever gets to the point where her resin yellows too much to appreciate, I plan to dye her.

The first doll I ever ordered is not quite as firmly cemented into my collection yet.

    13. I sold her off a long time ago. It was just a bad experience all around.

    14. I've kept my little Hujoo Berry, it was a gift from my sister and I will always keep her =) She works really well with my pet dolls any ways ^^

    15. I got my first bjd in 2004, a CP Delf Elf El, and I still have him. In fact, I'm a strange person and I have every single doll I've ever bought...!

    16. I've had my first bjd just for a few months but there's no way I'm gonna sell her. I waited for many years to get her and she was totally worth it, I'm very happy with her.

    17. i am hugely sentimental, so i really doubt i will sell many of my dolls, but i will especially not sell my first, i think. its a huge milestone for me to finally buy one... so to sell him... i dont know, it doesnt feel right!

    18. I will probably never sell my very first doll because a) she's adorable and b) I would never be able to get her back (or even a similar sculpt)! However, I did recent sell the doll that got me into the hobby. :)

    19. This might sound cruel, but I've always felt an immense amount of buyer's remorse over my Mystic Kids boys even before they first arrived, and I haven't bonded with them very well at all, in spite of all of the faceups, outfits, restringing and photo shoots we've been through together.

I think I've never really liked them because they were the dolls I could afford at the time and not the ones that I truly desired. I've always been very partial to the anime-styled Obitsus and Dollfie Dreams, and now that I have my very first Obitsu girl on the way, I can already tell that I'll be able to give her much more love than I've ever been able to give my Mystic Kids boys.

I wish I could just sell my Mystic Kids off so I wouldn't have to keep feeling guilty over them, but truth be told, I've made so many mistakes with them that I don't think anyone else would want them even if I cut my losses and sold them off at a steep discount.

    20. I don't think I could ever sell any of my dolls, tbh. I still own them all. Parting with one would feel oddly cruel. I haven't met a doll I couldn't love. I imagine I'll end up with entirely too many dolls because of that some day.
