1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it? - Part 2

Jun 4, 2016

    1. Yes I did! I've had a bit of a time with my dolls and end up selling them thus far, trying to find the right size/style for me and the character I had in mind. My first was a Dikadoll Ling Ri, and for the price he was really great and solid doll.

    2. Well, I recently purchased a Switch Hahwa head secondhand, thinking initially that he'd be the perfect sculpt for a character of mine. But once I had him in my hands, the spark just wasn't there. I decided to buy a different doll for my character and I'm actually trying to sell him.

Unfortunate, but hopefully someone else will love him better. :goldstar:goldstar

    3. My first doll was a vinyl Dollfie Dream. I still own her. She's frustrating at times because both her default outfit and her wig stain like crazy. But I haven't yet considered getting rid of her.

My first resin is a Volks SD-17 that I just got a few days ago. I love him a lot. :) But he is a doll that is worth a good amount, more than I paid for him, secondhand. If I ever ran into money troubles or I somehow got sick of the doll hobby - yeah. I'd probably sell him.

...he's sitting right next to me as I type this and I feel like he's making sad eyes at me.:sorry :...(

    4. I bought my first doll on a whim simply because I was too impatient to wait for her. When I was creating the characters for my story I wanted the dolls for, the doll I got was the complete opposite of what I was looking for.
I've since sold her and am using the money to replace her with a soul doll freya who I love far better than my first doll. I actually feel as though freya was supposed to be my first doll all along because I just love her so much!

    5. I don't think I could ever see myself selling my first. He's a shell for a character I had made in early high school and honestly means the world to me. I'm a lazy person with my characters these days (I used to write and draw a LOT but now I've lost a lot of motivation), but they still mean so much to me. There's a little part of my soul in each of them. So while my doll isn't specifically a base to my character existing, I see no reason I'd sell him. <3 Unless I found a better sculpt to shell him in as he develops as a character. But even then, I'd find it hard to believe future me is gonna sell this boy. <3

    6. I always thought I'd always keep my first doll, but I actaully sold her just today. My taste has just changed a lot and I have a totally different picture for my dolls now.

    7. I will never ever part with my first doll, since he's been my grail doll since I first took interest in the hobby. My tastes may change, or I may want to get new looking or different aesthetic dolls, but I'm never ever parting with Annix. (I hope I haven't posted twice here, this topic just gets me so emotional) :whee:

    8. I've already sold my first vinyl Dollfie Dream doll. She just didn't live up to my expectations and I regretted spending all that money on her.

I also plan to sell my first resin Iplehouse doll. I don't regret buying her, but I realized that I don't like realistic looking dolls as much as I thought I would.

    9. I think I could get rid of any of my dolls, even if it was my first. I don't think I could get rid of any of my bjd clothes or accessories, since they took longer to acquire.

    10. I am actually going to sell my first two dolls. Their story never worked out and I know someone can appreciate them more than I can.

    11. I got my first for a specific reason. I had him customised to be a specific story character. He is not an on topic doll, and his head is all one piece, so his eyes and wig can't be changed. I doubt I will ever sell him, barring a drastic need for funds fast.

    12. I doubt I'll ever sell my first doll! Thranduil was the first one I got and I still think he's great! I might get him a different body or something, but I'd never sell him. I'm very sentimental about things, I grow attached to them, so to me it would be parting with something I care about! I've had him about two and a half years now. :3

    13. I think I will keep my first doll for ever, but maybe in some years I will sell her to buy another one, I don't know.

    14. I'm planning on selling mine. It's hard to do and I don't really want to, but I need the extra funds :(

    15. I will never, ever, ever sell my Levi.

    16. I am actually trying to sell my first doll, he never really worked out for me.

    17. I still have my 1st, an Angelregion Kai. I doubt I will ever sell him. I did sell my 3rd doll, a Bluefairy Jerome, after discovering that MSD sized dolls were not for me

    18. I don't think I could ever sell my first doll, at least I don't want to. My parents bought my first doll for me as a present and even though they don't fully understand why they can be so expensive I'm so grateful that they bought him for me.

    19. By first ball jointed doll wasn't made of resin and I don't like her very much honestly. She's not worth enough to sell and I'm a bit of a hoarder anyway so I'll probably just pass her off to my children when I have some.

    20. I sold my first doll...!
I changed my taste and I thought it was right to send her to someone who would love her more!
