1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it? - Part 2

Jun 4, 2016

    1. I absolutely still have my first doll and she is without a doubt my favourite! :D I got a Doll Leaves Yoko for my very first doll and I'm still just astounded at how incredibly beautiful and well made she is, I honestly can't ever see myself getting rid of or selling her!

    2. I would love to keep my first doll forever since it was a present from a really good friend of mine but the sad thing is that he is a recast (my friend doesn't really know a lot about this hobby to be honest) and because I have absolutely no tolerance for recasts, I possibly have to give him away to someone else. But I'm sure I'll keep my first legit BJD for ever! ^^

    3. I keep all my dolls. Even if they are still interested and they take their place on the shelf, I can't part with them.

    4. I moved out of country now, I didn't bring it but gave it to my mom as a gift.

    5. I got my first doll (Withdoll Emma) last October, and I'm not sure if I'll keep her.

I only ordered her because I wanted the Pumpkin Head - it wasn't available for purchase on its own and I couldn't find anyone willing to do a GO or split so I could get it.
I've kept her this long because I'm determined to do something with her, but at the moment I'm really uninspired.

    6. I still have my bjd of 1year and I will never sell her ever. xD I do not want to reshell her as well.

    7. I just had my first completed doll recently and I am not planning to sell it, ever. This will not change since it was the doll that brought me into this hobby and the continuing expansion of my interests in bjd. It was also the product of many late night struggles because I kept thinking about how to customize him from the beginning until the final completion, lol.

    8. I'm not gonna sell any of my dolls unless I'm about to be homeless lol

    9. I bought my first doll over 12 years-ish ago. I long sold him ^_^;
I liked my first doll but my options were limited back then because I was in high school. I could only buy cheaper dolls and not exactly what I wanted. I split a DOD DOC Too and Bee-A with a friend, even though DOC Ivan was the one I wanted.

My taste changed over time and I lean more and more towards female dolls and bigger size. As romantic the idea of keeping my first doll is, I would rather not keep around a doll I don't want anymore. There are people who'd appreciate and love them more out there.

    10. Well considering I've had my first doll about a month now... XD No, barring unforeseen circumstances, I'm never ever going to get rid of her - she's stuck with me for good lol.

I have changed his body a couple of times, but I don't see myself ever getting rid of my first boy <3

    12. I couldn't imagine getting rid of my Ani boy. He was a wedding gift from my husband and the very first doll I fell in love with.

    13. I don't think I could get rid of my first doll simply because of the sentimental value of it being the first. <3

    14. I sold my first doll not long after getting him. At the time I'd never seen a BJD in person and wasn't really prepared for the size - 1/3 dolls are way too big for me personally - and I just didn't know what it would be like to own a doll at all, or what I would get out of them personally. I needed more time for my tastes to develop, I guess.

    15. Well, I bought my first doll on a whim, and I'm currently in the process of selling her. I don't mind, because she was an impulse buy, so I don't lose sentimentality. She's also not very rare or anything, so I'm not realllly losing out on any rareness.

    16. I ended up selling my first doll a long time ago. At the time, I purchased dolls based on the price; I was a student back then, and had to spend only a little for entertainment, hobbies, and such. It was also a way of 'testing the waters' for me in the BJD world. Once I got stable income, I started purchasing sculpts I really love. Although sometimes, I do wonder where my first doll is now, and if his new owner kept the modifications and tattoos/faceup I did. :-) It'd be interesting to see what he looks like now.

    17. I don't plan to sell any of mine. They're too cute.

    18. I believe that I will keep my first doll. I am working towards skinning a character, so it would feel very wrong to sell said character.

    19. I dont think I will ever sell my first doll. He just sits on a shelf looking pretty. He was my first Resin love.

    20. I could never sell my first doll, DOI Luke ver.1. He's 9 years old. It would be like selling my child :atremblin
