Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

I plan on keeping mine. ^^
Too many good memories to part with him.

I don't think I could EVER have the heart to let him leave my side.

I think everyone's first doll should mean something very special to them. I don't know why, but when I hear about people selling their dolls like they mean nothing, it bothers me. Even dolls that aren't a person's first, I know people that just seem to have absolutely no emotional attachment to their dolls whatsoever and sell them with no remorse. Why even buy that doll in the first place if it really doesnt mean that much to you or youre just gonna get sick of it in a month or something..?
Even if a first doll's appearance fades or dimishes over time, that's no reason to give them up.

My lovely little Sharmin isn't going anywhere : ) I adored her when I first bought her and I still adore her now. She's very special to me, so I doubt I would ever sell her on.

 

my very first was a Volks DD, and though she has suffered some damage to her body I will never sell her. L will soon be replacing he body although she is a first generation and yhe head is hard to remove from the body!

 

my first doll was an old volks sd10 mimi...she is odd looking, yellowed and has floppy legs..i love her and will keep her...she has a strange beauty and i learned how to handle her wild legs....

 

My first was a Shiwoo, four years ago. He looks pretty much the same, haha, still has his default faceup and all. I remember thinking about selling him a few times the first year, but I don't think I could do it now.

 

My first doll is my baby! I could never dream of selling him!

 

I will never sell Ren, I would miss her too much.

 

Yep, he's still here with me, worn, yet still loved! ^^
Turns out I was not the only one in the family who adore him, even my parents like him, so he's not going anywhere!

She's gone far beyond being just a dollie, she's an institution in my house XD if I'll ever talk about selling her,my friends would probably beat me X'''D oh, whatever... SHE'll beat me XD

She is my first bjd. For more than a year, she was the only one. I can remember the first time I see her. I sew for her almost everything.

I feel deeply bound to her. ^_^

 

it's funny, My first doll I paid for was a AOD CHI and he never came to me, (stupid bad ebay seller) and right after I paid him off I saw a Bobobie Weylan. I bought him right away and the day he came to me was one of the best days in my life! right now he is about 3 years old I know he has yellowed a lot, he has a tiny chip on his one ear and I would never in my life give him up! I have a lage family, that keeps getting larger every week it seems but he is the one who still goes with me to walmart almost every night, the people at papa john's are finally getting used to him walking in the door with me, and the people at the chinese place down the street love him! Ive had people ask to buy him, one for 3X his new market value which I still find funny (I gave her junkyspot's link and she actually did get one of her own) but I could never give him up, he is my baby. he is one of my tallest but like a parent the first the favorite! Itachi will probable go to the grave with me lol

 

Of all of my dolls, my first, Elfdoll Lydia, is my favorite. There may be things about here that drive me crazy, like her trick knee, but she isn't going anywhere. I even think when and if I leave the hobby, I will keep her.

 

I have some off topic dolls that are 30 years old but my first on topic might be making a bit of a shift. I've loved him to death or to the point where fixing his latest boo boo has me questioning if he wants to continue as he is. It's very possible his spirit will continue as an off topic 1/6 and this body goes on to art projects. Or I could get him a completely different kind of body. Neither of us know.

In general I'll keep a doll forever but awhile back I parted with some old friends I had twenty plus years because it was time to go, we had out grown each other. I do know my second on topic Xavier isn't going anywhere.

I dont think I could ever sell my first dolls. I say dolls, because I have my two obitsu's and my first on topic doll- Draven, still here. In fact my second on topic doll is still waiting to be ordered XD

 

I didn't and it was the biggest mistake I ever made in this hobby. I intend to buy the same mold again eventually, but it won't be the same.

 

I know for a fact that I would never ever be able to give up my first >w<
He was a gift for one thing and I have a thing about keeping things that have been given to me as gifts. Secondly, he's made up of spare/flawed parts and it makes him even more special than normal in some bizzare way.

I've only had him since Christmas, but I don't think I'd ever be able to part with him.
