1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I plan on keeping her :] She's so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    2. I have! I have updated her character and given her body to another doll, but I have no plans on ever selling her head or original body.

    3. I think when I get a first ABJD I will likely cling to her for dear life! It will take a lot of scrimping and saving and a long, long time before I will be able to order one so I am being very, very careful about which doll I choose. My first will likely be my only doll ever so no, won't be selling her.

    4. I still have my original one and only, I did get her a new body though. I still adore the head mold but I'm now contemplating selling her. I'm just not sure its fiscally prudent at this point and I just don't feel I've been able to devote enough time and my definite lack of artistic ability has left her faceless for far too long.

    5. I thought I would always keep my first, but a while back I sold all of my dolls - my first included. I couldn't afford to keep them back then, so while it was sad letting him go, I knew it was better for me. ^^

Now I'm slowly buying new dolls, and I love my (new) first one very much, I couldn't think of parting with him.

    6. does keeping the body count? Lol. I actually... never liked my first doll, and bought it well, on a whim. Now, to mention - i'm very happy I bought him, as he later payed for most of the ones I have now.

    7. She is still with me and, if nothing wrong and serious happens, she always will because of what I saw in her, the main character she is within my own resin story and much more.

    8. I won't have my very first doll in my hands for another three weeks, but I think I can safely say I'll likely be keeping her for a very long time :) Heck, I'm already thinking about what to do for my second and third dolls already, lol.

    9. I kept my first doll. I don't think I ever do want to sell her. I remember my first box opening and how awesome she was. I had to dress her up... she was so nekkid! (And since they blushed her body, I felt shy for her).

    10. Nope. And I don't regret it in the slightest. Just part of the process of finding my style!

    11. Well, I only have two dolls so far. But my first boy is definitely not for sale any time soon! ><

    12. I still have mine, although hopefully not for long.

    13. I don't have any plans to sell my first doll at the moment.
I've spent way way over a year just deciding which doll I wanted for my first, so it's probably kind of obvious I'm not the type of person that buys a ton of dolls within a short time frame, just to realize that I don't "bond" with half of them or that they don't fit in my concept/plans in another way.
Even with my second, which was a semi-impulse buy, I've been admiring the mold for long enough to be definitely sure I wanted him. And that usually means I don't want to resell. Same with any other expensive item I get.

    14. I have, and she's still my favourite, and the one most dear to me. I've never sold any of my dolls, but if for some reason I had to, she's the one I'd never part with.

    15. Yeah, I have my first. Her name is Faye and she's a RS Mei. I couldn't be happier with her and I don't think I'd ever sell her. I picked her mold and had her here in less than two weeks, but as soon as she arrived, she was perfect. She is well loved here and will not be getting a new home.

    16. I got Luken back in 2008 and you better not try to take him from me! *lol*

Seriously, though, I'm kinda like: "Well, I bought him cos I wanted him, so why should I ever sell him?" Same goes for the other two (Morgan and Cassie) and same will be true for Celaran.

    17. ARG. I would LIKE to keep her, but even though she's my first doll and I've had her for over a year, I haven't bonded with her AT ALL.

      URG.

    18. I still have mine, because she's one of my favourite molds. She's yellowed quite a bit but that's no reason to love her less.

    19. Yep I still have mine. She was a KD Jeong and I love her to pieces other then the fact that she's flat chested... >.<

Actually I'll have had her for 5 years tomorrow...I got her 5/5/05...heh.

    20. For now, my first doll is still with me. Don't know if I ever will sell her, that thought never came to my mind.
