1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. The one that was supposed to be my first doll, a Bluefairy Kyle -- since he was the first one purchased, came in as my SECOND doll, since I'd bought him from the company and he took about 2 months to get to me. In the interim, within the first 2 weeks after ordering him, I'd bought a Dollshe Hound off the marketplace, and he arrived in a couple of days. So first was second, and second was first!

The Hound is long gone now, however, but my little Kyle is still around.

    2. I got my first doll a little over a year ago, and even though he's kind of scratched and nicked and not in the greatest shape, there's no way I'll ever get rid of him. I've gotten wayyyyy too attached to him. My second doll, however, is getting kicked out as soon as I get MP access and can sell him...

    3. I still have my first doll, which sort of surprises me because I didn't bond with her for a long time. I bought her before I found DoA (and owner pics), and bought her on the strength of the doll company's photos of her. She had one of those 'artistic' shots, where she was looking up at the camera. She looks really different in person....that's all I'll say. I didn't fool with her a lot at first, but once I got the idea that different wigs and eyes can really change a doll's looks, I liked her a lot better. One of these days, I'm going to send her off for a GOOD faceup!

    4. I agree with Ellanie. I realized that I didn't like mature minis, and now I have a yosd and a normal msd. =)

    5. my first boy is still with me~~love him so much

    6. Nope, I didn't. She was sold quite a long time ago. My oldest doll is a little over a year old and I fear he may have worn out his welcome here too, it may be time for him to move on.

    7. Yup...kinda.
He's currently a floating head since Blake looked so good on his body. XD

    8. Of course! My very first doll is always stay with me >w<

    9. I've had my first one for over 6 years now and I never think about selling her. I just really like her. Plus I wasn't really the most careful/knowledgeable new doll owner so she's yellowed weirdly and has a few knicks from a car accident.

    10. Still got my first two boys and they're not going anywhere any time soon. x3
Shin was a gift and Keijo is the first i ever purchased, both have some sentimental value attached to them. if i ever had to sell my dolls for an emergency those two would be the absolute last to go.

    11. Yes, my first doll is still with me.

    12. My first doll was a gift from a friend so Cassie has a little extra, I didn't save up for her she was a gift and I am one of those people who even if I wanted to sell Cassie I couldn't because she was a gift. But I have no intent on ever selling her. For a while i thought about swaping out parts of her but then I realized how yellow she is and that ended that XD

    13. When I got into the hobby I decided that I absolutely would not buy any other doll(s) until I could bring home my "dream doll." I stuck to this. My first doll was a Dollstown Ariel (58cm) girl. And if anything ever happened where I would need to sell off my doll family or left the "hobby" she would be the one doll that would NOT go. She is here to stay and I'll love her forever. She holds more sentimental value than many of my other possessions.

    14. I still have my first bjd- I don't think I will ever sell her, she is really special to me

    15. I sold my very first doll. It was a difficult decision and I felt really guilty about it at first, but I found him before knowing about DoA or knowing what was out there. He was an MSD, and I later realized I was more interested in larger dolls. I felt bad until I realized that someone else out there would give him the attention I wasn't able to.

I still do have my first SD size doll though.

    16. I have my first doll still and I always will. I've had my frustrations with her but I've finally made her look the way I want and I would greatly regret selling her.

    17. Yep! I still have my first doll, my Kill_U_2nd. Rook is one of my most developed characters and I love him so much. I've sold other dolls, but I've never even considered selling Rook. :3 He's my favorite snarky boy. XD

    18. From the beginning I said I would not sell my first, but my first was quite simply not what I wanted, like my third and fourth dolls, and so it makes me feel better that I sent him off to loving homes (he was split up into three pieces) since he was not getting any love from me anymore. Using the money acquired from selling my first, third and fourth, I was able to stay on top of my bills and even order a new doll in their place, so in essence my first (and third and fourth) are still with me.

    19. My Yuki it's with me. But she's a gift from my ex-boyfriend.. So I don't know if I'll keep with me or if I sell she. She reminds me of my ex. I don't know how I'll do..

    20. I could never imagine selling my first doll. He's still my favorite out of the three I have now. c:
