1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I still have my first doll and he's not going anywhere. Dare I say it, but he's the favorite in the house. He was my learning experience with BJDs and we've been through a lot together as far as that goes. XD I doubt I could ever get rid of him or replace him.

    2. Was forced to give away Vae... :( I still miss her, she was my only girl BJD and my very first one.
I still remember how excited I was when I got her package in the mail... *sigh*

    3. No I didn't keep my first doll thanks to the crappy economy.

I still regret selling him in a way (I wouldn't have even thought about selling him had the economy been better), but I know he's with a person who loves him dearly, and what's more, now he has an actual doll family which I had no hopes of ever affording at the time. <3

    4. Well, I kept her head :) I got her a better body though.

    5. Yes.
She has had the most work done to her.
And that she was a present from the boyfriend.
And that she arrived in a very difficult time in my life.
She is so cute I don't think I can bring myself to sell her even with all the things I complain about her. XD

    6. I still have mine. Will probably never sell her. I bought her on layaway years ago and due to my limited budget I didn't look at them any more. I of course since caved again (November 2009 actually!) and she now has some siblings but she will always be special!

    7. My first doll although not my most expensive is by far my favourite would not sell her.

    8. I sold my first BJD. I didn't think I would, but in the end she needed to move on. Though, she's since been re-released, and I see some of that spark in her again. But at the same time, I think the things that ultimately let her slip from my interest would happen again.

    9. I did sell my first, and I feel it was the right decision. While I still think he is a beautiful doll, he isn't right for me. I'm much happier seeing him in a place where he is better appreciated.

    10. YES i have my first doll still! i think that even if i found another doll that better suited her character i would still be attached to her. i think that she holds a deep sentimental value because she was my first doll. i remember getting a text from my older sis that her box was at our house and i almost freaked out in the middle of my bio 101 class. :D

    11. I've thought about selling my very fisrt and only doll for an other model, but it just didn't feel right.

IF ever I thin kabout getting a new doll, I think I'd keep my first doll. I experience way too much to let go of it!

    12. i decided not to keep my first doll (bobobie Isabella) because i wanted to grow the character into an msd. but i did sell her to a friend i see all the time so i get to see how she is doing so i have no regrets. :)

    13. On a side note, I did that with two out of my three dolls.
The tiny went to my old, but cool, best friend
The Head of my boy msd, went to my new, but totally cute, best friend.

In fact, I looking to buy paws w/ ears for the tiny as a trade for these awesome shoes I got from her. <3

    14. My first was an Obitsu60 - cheaper than all the others resin dolls but in a lot of ways far more sentimental and invested in than my follow up bjds.

Yui is going nowhere, and I wouldn't swap her for the most expensive, exclusive, 'true' bjd sculpt ever.

    15. Yes, but this doesn't mean too much as I keep always my dolls, it's hard to sell them here in my country and also I don't like to sell internationally (shipping costs here are very expensive). And, she is a very tiny doll, a Pocket Fairy Kitty and I love her so much :)

    16. I'm attempting to sell my first doll right now, actually. ^^;; I love her sculpt, but she's been through three very different face-ups in two years (commissioned, since I am no artist) and she still has the same expressionless stare. It made me a little sad when I decided to part with her, but then I opened my new pukifee and adored her, so I think I'm making the right decision. ^_^

    17. To me my first doll is really her face (the sculpt), and I am keeping her :D
What I am planning to do is switch her to a diferent body.
I LOVE her little body, but I want to make her taller. But it will still be her face :) I love her, and I am going to keep her.
Now there is another face I really like, and planning on getting that head (if it's a match) for the old body :D

I only have the one doll right now, but I don't think I am going to be as attached to any of my other (future) dolls as I am to my first :D
Speaking of which, I got her silver hoop earrings today :D she looks so cute!!!! Gotta go post pictures in the feedback thread of the girl that pierced her ears for me :D It's picture time!!!!

    18. I sold my first doll, who was a hybrid, because parts of her body bothered me, but I might try to put her together again with a better body.

    19. You know what works to change that "start"
Trying changing the angle of the eyebrows or change the shape completely. It works WONDERS. xD

    20. Yep. I still have my first doll. Also the first I've seriously wanted.
