1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. Kay so I've just seen pictures of my boy with his new face-up...it's like I've fallen in love with him all over again.

I guess he'll be staying for now, even if he will be the only SD in the house for a while until I feel ready to order more

    2. I'll never sell my first boy~as I don't see him not only a friend but a family member~even one day he gets yellow or broken he will go no where and I believe he is going to accompany me sleeping in my grave :D

    3. I would never sell him ><! I've grown too attached to the little spoiled brat hehe~
Plus, I would just feel dreadful, I'd miss him too much.

    4. I still have my first, even though she was an impulse buy at an anime convention. Though, I am saving up to get her a more proportional body, since all MSD clothes I get for her are too big >.< (she's a Resin Soul Mei). So, I doubt I would ever ever sell her, I love her too much. :aheartbea

    5. I can never see myself selling my little gal, Im too fond of her for that =3
She's had all the mods I want for her character too so she's not going anywhere =D

    6. I can't see myself selling my first doll any time soon. I still really like the sculpt, and it suits the character I based the doll on perfectly.

    7. i still have my first doll and I'll never sell him; even tough he's a bit damaged ^^

    8. Nope, I happily sold my first doll. The character that I created for it was rehomed pretty quickly, so when I sold my first it didn't feel like I was losing anyone.

    9. I sold my first doll. I upgraded him to a larger sized doll and never looked back. No regrets as its still like having my first doll. Sometimes I almost forget that he's not really my first doll, and actually the 2nd incarnation of the same character. :)

    10. Hyun is my baby. I don't think I could ever sell him. He has a "DEFINITE" place in my heart and will be passed down to my girls when it is time. I still remember seeing him on the Junky Spot site under Souldoll...IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SITE!

    11. defanatly! i dont now anyone who wouldent. they're special you know?

    12. I still have my first doll (CH Choa) and don't intend to ever sell her. She's very special for many reasons, and she's the only one to have a custom face up by an extremely talented artist.

    13. I will definitely keep my first doll! She means so much to me and if I sold her I would regret it!

    14. The first doll I bought was an Obitsu 60cm, I liked her when she was in the mail, and for the first week I had her...I then realized that the lady selling her made it seem like it was easier than it really was to get stains and permanent marker off soft vinyl plastic TT.TT
I feel like I was sort of robbed of my bjd virginity and I really wish that my Napidoll Chesi (2nd doll) was my first doll so I could have the same sentiment as everyone else, but I constantly think about selling the obitsu

    15. I relocated to another country and actually did sell the first 3 dolls I had. It sucked! ;-) So, as soon as I was able, I bought a new family!

I can honestly say, I don't foresee me selling any of the new family. If anything, they would be entrusted to a family member until I could reclaim them.

    16. I actually sold my first doll ;_; He was a Bobobie apollo and I really didn't like his sculpt anymore.

I kinda regret it since I didn't do anything good with the money. Hopefully soon I'll get my first anthro kitty and never sell her! x3

    17. I've had him so far... but the character he developed doesnt suit that preticular doll anymore so I'm reshelling the character and selling him soon.
Its going to be difficult, I think.

    18. Sakiyo was my first love, and still is. Her look still suits her character, and she's just as "demanding" as ever. I'm even writing a story based on her universe.

So... yes. Yes, I do still have my first doll... and it's going to stay that way.

    19. well, my first BJD buy was from eBay - I bought a hybrid doll body/head and another head which was sold separately by the same seller and combined the P&P ... I ended up selling the hybrid's head and the other head and body have been inseperable ever since and am very certain that should I leave the hobby, he would be the last to go ... first in, first out ;)

    20. I still do! I love her very deeply and actually finally got her a professional face-up and glass eyes recently! (Which I guess is bad since I've had her for 6 years now.. but she looked pretty before, so I never thought to do more, haha.) I think she looks even more lovely now though, so I'm happy I did so <3
