1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. I do still have my first doll, and I believe I always will.

Even if I sold every other doll and miniature in this house, Miranda would remain.

    2. Yes, I'll definitely keep my first doll.
      I love her, she's special for me^^

    3. I sold my first doll after a few months of having her because I had some issues with her in the beginning and to be honest I think I kind of settled with her :/ purely for the fact I couldn't afford the doll I wanted (which I now have)...bad I know. But also I didn't feel a bond with her. I just didn't like her as much as I though I would. So I sold her ^-^

    4. I kept my first doll long years but now I don't have her anymore. the other side I keep my 3rd doll licht almost 10years

    5. No, I didn't. She was a compromise doll (not my first choice) and quite 'kicky'. I thought it better to let her be in a home that enjoyed her more.

    6. I'll always keep my 1st doll :>

    7. Yes, my first doll is still my favourite ! (DollnDoll Ines) -I recently had her restrung, sueded and cleaned, and now she is as good as new ! -She is my avatar at the moment.

    8. My first doll's still here. She's yellowed quite a bit but I don't care, I love her all the same. I wouldn't dream of ever getting rid of her.

    9. I have once thaught of selling him a long time ago , but I`ve since decided that no matter how bad my first doll is gonna look in time , I`ll keep him forever.

    10. This was written over a year ago... and I am finally selling it!
Though I have a new one to take its place :P
Most dolls I bought in 2009 & 2010 have been sold, but it is to be expected that taste change ^^

Though I am sad to sell most of them, I am happy my crew changes and gets better in my opinion =D

    11. I loved my first doll but when the new girl came, she became the odd one out. I will just change her head though so technically I still have my first doll

    12. I do still have my first doll, and i love her so much :)

    13. anyway i'm going to keep my first doll, because she's very importent to me and a special thing in my life :)

    14. I would never buy a doll and then sell it. They're too expensive to just buy frivolously, and I grow too attached to things to just part with them when they age. Being damaged irreparably is another story. If my doll's face broke into pieces and couldn't ever be replaced, then I suppose I'd sell his body to recoup some of the losses. But I don't intend to let that happen!

    15. I couldn't imagine getting rid of any of my dolls, especially not my first! Even if she yellows, I'll either grow to accept it as part of her, or have her cleaned up. I could never get rid of her.

I understand the idea of bonding, but at least for me a lot of thought and love goes into every decision, and I've yet to be disappointed.

    16. Helen's still with me and will forever be. I couldn't sell her for anything at all. Even more so since she was a gift from people that are important to me

    17. I still have half of my original first doll. I came to dislike his old body (old BBB 3part body) so I actually replaced it with a body for the original company's sister (resinsoul). So yes I still have him and will never sell him! :)

    18. My first doll was sold for my dream doll. It was a hard choice but in the end (despite doing face ups on her) I didn't bond with her at all. She was bought to be a character and when I got her she didn't work. I kept her for a while after just to see if she would emerge as someone else but no such luck.

I found a person to rehome her to (who is very much in love with her) so at least I know she is taken care of. She was really darling, I just didn't know what to do with her anymore and the thought of just keeping her in her box or on a table seemed wrong.

    19. I can honestly say I can't ever imagine selling my boy. ^^ If anything, he'll probably become a family heirloom.

    20. I definitely still have my first doll! And don't plan to let him go ever. Every time I look at him, I remember why I bought him in the first place: he's just too gorgeous!
