1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do/Did you keep your very first doll? Or will you sell it?

Aug 12, 2009

    1. Even if I wanted to sell my first doll, hes not a really in-demand sculpt. I do like him for all of his wonkyness

    2. I don't have any plans to sell Saif in the foreseeable future... Dollzone discontinued their tan so if I get seller's remorse, I'm totally doomed.

    3. This is kind of complicated really. I actually did sell my very first doll (which I had bought second handly) because he was so unevenly yellowed and has some scratches and such on it. But it was only because I got pretty frustrated because it was in so terrible condition.

But I did repurchase it straight from the doll company and still love the mold. So, I still own same mold which I first fell in love :)

    4. Yes I did. Actually, I only recently got a second doll but I still love my first boy to bits and pieces! I honestly don't think(and hope!) I will ever sell him.

    5. My first girl is Sephora, and I am quite attached. I have bought several others to dress and sell. I did not name them...just got a little 1/6 boy, he is so cute...he stays too!!!!!

    6. I still have my first doll and somehow she's more special than those who came after her. I guess that's because I put the most of work into her as the other dolls came to me near perfect as I wanted them. If nothing bad happens I won't have to part with her but only time will tell.

    7. I sold mine because my taste in BJD sizes changed. Fin was one of the most beautiful dolls but was too big for me.

    8. I sols my first doll, because I just don't have the room for more than one bigger doll. I really want to be able to have more than one but my room is so small, so I sold Henry and bought a smaller doll. Someday when I live in a bigger space I'll get him again, so someday I'll have my first doll again.

    9. I still have my first doll and he is my only doll full doll at the moment (still waiting on my second doll to get here). I don't think I'll ever sell him, if I can help it. Some of my friends love him a lot too and would probably give me the cold shoulder if I ever sold him xD;

    10. I could never see myself giving up Randall. (CP Redemption the Moon)
I worked so hard to get him because he was the first one to ever catch my eye. I even got a job just to be able to save up quicker. But when the flake of a boss decided to let me go, I thought I would never get him. But my Step-Dad decided that I had worked my butt off, and he gave me the rest of the funds. ^_^ That is another reason I can't sell him, Dad would give me a swift kick ^^"

    11. I've still got my first doll; An AoD Gu. It doesn't fit with any of my other dolls, it's still really roughly painted because I can't bring myself to replace all of its tattoos, and it's yellow as custard. I love it to bits! Thankfully, it's basically not worth anything, so I'll never be motivated to sell it by the need to get money.

I can see myself selling it further down the line, when I feel that I need the space, or just don't think I'll ever get any more enjoyment out of my dolls, but for now I'm keeping hold of it!

    12. My first doll is a ResinSoul Lian. I bought her at an anime con. I saw my very first bjds at the anime con several years before but did not even know what to call them. I was too intimidated by the youth of the people that had them to ask. So it took me while to find out what they were called. Then at the con three years ago a vendor was selling the ResinSoul big girls and boys. I bought Lian and some clothes for her. I adore her because she is my first. She is seriously wonky and my efforts to restring her made her worse. I recently bought her a new head and may change her look but I doubt I will ever sell her. In fact I am thinking of making her into my version of a Na'vi Neytiri like in Avatar.

    13. I have my first doll, CP Moon still. I love my loosely strung and yellowed guy.

    14. i really didn't like my first doll i bought once he got home. =/
He was a DiL rydel. That was like 5-6 years ago xD

    15. I could never sell my doll. I wanted it so much to begin with, and I waited a very, very long time before I bought it (six months). I just wanted to be sure it was right for me, due to the huge cost.

Well, it's right for me. And it's staying right here. :)

    16. I'm never ever giving up my boy especially since the doll company that made him went under (RIP Unidoll :(). His sculpt was love at first sight and I went through alot of trouble to get him.

    17. I kept my first doll and I don't ever plan on selling her. I've been thinking of replacing her body and selling her current one, but I'm still up on the fence about it. She really is a great girl and a total sweetheart.

    18. I sold my first doll because I didn't do the rite research and bought to soon. Do miss her but she went to a lovely lady who really wanted her thats makes me feel better. I'm still looking for the first bjd I fell in love with. A lati yellow tan garden elf coco or lumi.

    19. I still have my first doll that I purchased in 2006. He was the first sculpt that I really quite liked and I still like him to this day. He still has is original faceup and everything, too!

    20. I still have my first doll. :) I've put the most time and effort into her and I'm always coming up with new ideas for her or looking for doll-sized items in her size. There's no way I could ever part with her.
